Bella’s eyes fluttered open. The morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a golden glow across the room. Dust motes danced in the warm rays, drifting lazily through the air.
And then she saw him.
Leo was hovering above her, his body propped up on his forearms, his face inches from hers. His dark hair was wet, water droplets clinging to the ends, catching the light like tiny jewels. His chest was bare, smooth and tan, the muscles defined and glistening under the soft glow. A few stray drops of water slid down his collarbone, tracing the lines of his chest before disappearing into the waistband of his lounge pants.
Bella’s breath caught.
Her eyes widened.
He was so close. So warm. His scent, clean soap and something deeper, something uniquely him, surrounded her, intoxicating and familiar. She could feel the heat radiating from his skin, could see the faint pulse beating at the base of his throat.
"You woke up," he murmured, his voice low and rough, still thick with sleep. His thumb traced a gentle path along her cheekbone, featherlight, sending shivers down her spine.
Bella’s lips parted, but no words came out.
A drop of water slid from his hair and landed on her forehead. It trickled slowly down her temple, over the bridge of her nose, and came to rest on her plump pink lips.
Her lips parted slightly, and the droplet slipped inside.
Leo’s eyes darkened.
His gaze dropped to her lips, watching the way they glistened, the way they parted as if waiting for something more. His jaw tightened. His breathing grew slower, deeper.
Bella felt her heart race. Her skin tingled where his thumb had brushed against her cheek. She could feel the intensity of his gaze on her lips, could see the way his chest rose and fell with each slow breath.
"Leo..." she breathed, her voice barely a whisper.
He leaned closer, his nose brushing against hers. His lips hovered just above hers, so close she could feel the warmth of his breath. The tips of their noses touched, featherlight.
"Bunny," he murmured, his voice thick with desire.
She tilted her head, her lips brushing against his. "Kiss me," she whispered.
He didn’t need to be told twice.
He captured her lips with his, soft at first, gentle and tender, as though he was savoring every moment. His hand slid into her hair, tilting her head back, deepening the kiss.
Bella sighed against his mouth, her fingers curling into his damp hair. The strands were cool and wet between her fingers, and she tugged gently, pulling him closer.
His other hand found her waist. His thumb traced slow circles on her hip, each pass sending a wave of warmth through her body.
She melted into him, her body arching slightly, seeking more contact.
Leo groaned softly, the sound vibrating against her lips. His hand slid up her back, fingers splaying across the curve of her spine, pressing her closer until there was no space left between them.
She could feel the heat of his skin through the fabric, could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat against her own racing pulse.
He pulled back just enough to look at her, his gray eyes dark and intense. His breathing was uneven, his lips slightly parted.
"I love you," he said, his voice rough with emotion.
Bella smiled, her eyes shining.
"I love you too."
He kissed her again, deeper this time. His lips moved against hers with a slow, deliberate rhythm. His tongue traced her lower lip, asking for entry. She parted her lips for him, and he groaned softly, his hand sliding down her waist, pulling her impossibly closer.
When he finally pulled back, they were both breathless.
Leo rested his forehead against hers, his eyes still closed. His breath fanned across her lips, warm and unsteady.
"Good morning, Bunny."
Bella laughed softly, her voice still a little husky.
"Good morning, Leo."
