His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 855 Beautiful Gift
Previously on His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker....
The door opened, and the room filled with familiar faces.
Lina entered first, her composure barely holding. Her elegant features were drawn, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. She walked to Bella’s bedside and took her hand, her fingers trembling slightly as she held it.
"Welcome back, sweetheart," she said softly, her voice thick with emotion.
Bella squeezed her hand weakly. "Thank you, Mom."
Lina’s eyes glistened. She leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Bella’s forehead. "You scared us. Don’t ever do that again."
Alessandro stood behind her, his hand on Lina’s shoulder, his expression filled with quiet relief. He didn’t say anything but the way he looked at Bella spoke volumes.
Nonna shuffled in next, her cane tapping against the floor. She moved slowly, her old bones aching, but her eyes were sharp and bright. She sat on the edge of Bella’s bed and patted her cheek with a wrinkled hand.
"You gave us quite a scare, little one," she said, her voice gruff but warm. "But you’re here now. That’s all that matters. These old bones can’t handle many more shocks."
Bella smiled weakly. "I’m sorry, Nonna."
"Don’t be sorry. Just don’t do it again." Nonna patted her hand. "I’m too old to be worrying about you young people. My heart can’t take it."
Jay and Jace appeared in the doorway, their faces pale but relieved. Jay rushed to Bella’s side, his eyes wet, his hands shaking.
"Bella Bell," he breathed. "You’re awake. You’re actually awake."
Bella reached out and squeezed his hand. "I’m okay, Jay Jay."
Jay’s voice cracked. "I know you are, but I was so scared." He sniffled, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "I thought I lost you. We all did."
Bella smiled gently. "You can’t get rid of me that easily."
Jay laughed, a wet, shaky sound. "Good. Because I’m not ready to let you go."
Then, one by one, her friends arrived.
Even Winter appeared, standing quietly in the corner, her dark eyes fixed on Bella. She didn’t speak but the relief in her gaze was unmistakable. She had called Bella, but she didn’t pick up, so she had called Jason and he had told her about Bella’s condition. He had brought her here as well.
Bella looked at all of them—her family, her friends, the people who had dropped everything to be here for her.
Her heart warmed with love.
She didn’t remember everything. Some memories were still foggy, still slipping through her fingers like water but she remembered this.
She remembered them.
Bella whispered, her voice breaking. "Thank you. Thank you all for coming."
Dominique grinned, wiping his eyes. "Of course we came, Bella Bell. You’re stuck with us forever."
Jason nodded. "You’re stuck with us. Forever. No take-backs."
Scarlett sniffled. "We love you, Bella. You know that, right?"
Bella laughed softly, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I know. I love you all too."
Once upon a time, she didn’t have anyone in her life.
She had grown up in a cold and fearful dark environment. She had learned to be small, to be invisible, to survive on scraps of kindness. She had believed that she was destined to be alone.
But now, her life was surrounded by the most amazing people she had ever met.
She looked around the hospital room, at the faces that had gathered for her.
They were all here.
Bella’s heart swelled so much it almost hurt.
She thought about the universe, or God, or whatever force had brought her to this point in her life. She didn’t know how to explain it. She didn’t know why she had been given this gift.
But she was grateful.
So deeply, overwhelmingly grateful.
However, there was one person she didn’t see.
One person she wanted to see more than anyone else.
Bella asked, her voice soft but urgent. "Where is Leo?"
Jay immediately let out an exaggerated wail. "That’s not fair! We’ve all been so worried about you, and you’re only asking about your brooooo!"
Bella blinked. "My bro?"
Nonna reached over and smacked Jay’s arm. "Stupid boy! Leo is not Bella’s brother. He’s her husband."
Jay rubbed his arm, grinning sheepishly. "My apologies, Nonna. A silly mistake."
Bella couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at her lips.
Dominique stepped forward, his expression warm. "Bella Bell, he’s in the room right next to yours. He came to see you earlier but you were sleeping. The doctor told him to rest as well."
Bella’s heart ached. "He came to see me?"
Dominique said gently. "Of course he did. He never left your side until they forced him to rest. He was holding your hand the whole time, Bella. Even when the doctors were checking on you, he wouldn’t let go. They had to pry his fingers loose."
Bella’s eyes filled with tears. "He stayed with me?"
Jay confirmed, his voice soft. "He stayed with you. He wouldn’t leave. He sat there for hours, just watching you. We had to practically drag him to his own room. He refused to eat. He refused to sleep. He just wanted to be near you."
Bella pressed her hand to her chest, feeling her heart swell. "I want to see him."
Jace offered, stepping forward. "Let me help you."
Bella looked at him gratefully. "Thank you, Jacee."
He smiled, a small, genuine smile. "Why are you thanking me, silly? We’re family now."
Bella’s eyes glistened. She nodded, letting him guide her toward the door.
Jace helped her to the room next door and opened it for her. He paused at the threshold, giving her a knowing look.
Jace said quietly. "I’ll leave you two alone. Take your time. He’s been waiting for you."
Bella nodded, her heart pounding as she stepped inside.
The room was bathed in soft, golden light. The large balcony doors were open, letting in the warm afternoon sun and the gentle breeze. The curtains swayed lazily, casting dancing shadows across the floor. The scent of fresh flowers drifted in from the garden below.
Leo was sitting on the bed, his back straight, his gaze fixed on the view outside. The sunlight fell across his face, making his tan skin glow and his gray eyes look almost silver. His hands rested loosely on his lap, his expression serene and peaceful.
Hearing her footsteps, Leo turned his head.
Their eyes met.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Bella whispered. "Leo..."
A quick, soft smile appeared on his face. It was small but it reached his eyes.
Leo said, his voice low and warm. "Bunny. You’re awake."
She walked toward him, her steps slow but sure. "I heard you stayed with me."
"I wasn’t going to leave you," he said simply. "Not ever. Not for a single second."
She climbed onto the bed, her movements careful, and settled beside him. "Leo..."
He reached out and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. His touch was gentle and careful, as if she were made of glass.
Leo said quietly. "I thought I lost you. When that bomb went off, when I held you in my arms... I thought I lost you. I felt the heat, I heard the explosion, and for a moment, I thought it was over."
Bella’s eyes filled with tears. "But you didn’t. I’m here. I’m right here."
He pulled her into his arms, holding her tightly. She could feel his heart beating against hers, fast and strong.
Bella whispered against his chest. "I love you, Leo. I love you so much. You’re my everything. You’re my home."
He pulled back just enough to look at her face, his gray eyes shining with emotion.
Leo said, his voice rough. "I love you too, Bella. More than anything in this world. More than my own life."
He cupped her face in his hands, his thumbs brushing away her tears.
"You saved me," he continued. "Before you, I was just existing. I was going through the motions, doing what was expected. I was a machine, a weapon, a tool. But you, you made me feel alive. You made me want to live. You made me remember what it felt like to be human."
Bella’s lip trembled. "Leo..."
"I don’t know what I did to deserve you," he said softly. "But I’m going to spend the rest of my life making sure you know how much you mean to me."
He leaned in and kissed her.
It was soft at first, tender like he was afraid she might break. But then she kissed him back, her fingers tangling in his hair, and the kiss deepened.
The sunlight wrapped around them, warm and golden.
The breeze carried the scent of flowers from the garden below.
And Bella held onto Leo, her heart finally at peace.
She pulled back just enough to look at him, her eyes shining with love.
Bella whispered. "Promise me. Promise me we’ll always be together."
Leo pressed his forehead against hers.
"I promise," he said. "Forever and always."
She smiled, her heart full.

"God... there’s 15% of a colorless, odorless drug found in her body!"
The doctor’s voice was grave as he held up the report, his face pale with concern.
Jay’s eyes widened in shock. He snatched the report from the doctor’s hands, scanning the pages frantically.
"What?!" His voice rose. "What do you mean? What drug?—"
In his mind Aunt Clara face appeared on the his mind.
"Whoever it was, they’ve been dosing her for a long time," the doctor continued. "The levels are consistent. It’s not a one-time exposure. This has been building up in her system for weeks. Possibly months."
Jay’s hands trembled. His knuckles turned white.
"Months?" he repeated. "She’s been poisoned for months?"
"We’re still identifying the exact compound," the doctor said carefully. "But our experts have already analyzed the basic properties. This drug is designed to affect the mind. It causes confusion, memory loss, emotional instability. In higher doses, it can induce hallucinations and severe paranoia."
Jay sank into the nearest chair, his face pale.
"Hallucinations," he muttered. "That’s why she was seeing things. That’s why she was so scared all the time."
Jay’s face twisted with rage. His hands clenched into fists, and before anyone could stop him, he swept a stack of papers off the desk, sending them flying across the room. A framed certificate crashed to the floor, glass shattering into pieces.
"That freakin’ Clara!" he shouted, his voice raw and trembling. "She died too easily! After everything she did to Bella! After months of poisoning her—ruining her mind! F*ck! F*CK!"
He grabbed a chair and shoved it aside, the legs scraping loudly against the tiles. His chest heaved, his eyes burning with anger and grief.
"She was supposed to suffer!" Jay continued, his voice breaking. "She was supposed to pay for what she did! But she got to die peacefully while Bella—while my Bella bell—" He couldn’t finish the sentence. His voice broke completely.
"Calm down, young man!" the doctor said helplessly, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "Please, this is my office—"
Jay whirled around, his eyes wild. "Calm down? You want me to calm down?! Do you know what she did to my family?! Do you know what she—"
He stopped mid-sentence, his gaze falling on the report still clutched in his hand.
Jay’s anger began to drain away, replaced by a deep, hollow ache.
He dropped into the chair, his head falling into his hands.
"I should have noticed," he whispered. "I should have known."
