His innocent wife is a dangerous hacker. Chapter 833 When are you going to marry...?
It was rare for the entire family to be together like this. With Leo’s busy schedule, Alessandro’s and Lina’s constant travels, moments like this had become precious and few. But somehow, by some stroke of luck, they had all managed to gather in one place.
Bella’s heart warmed as she looked around the room. Leo was talking to his father, his voice low and serious. Lina was laughing at something Nonna had said. William was showing Jay and Jace an old photograph, his hands trembling slightly but his smile wide.
This was what family should feel like. This was what she had always wanted.
She felt happy. Truly, deeply happy.
And then her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen. Miss J.
She stepped outside, walking onto the porch where the afternoon sun was warm on her skin. She answered the call, her voice bright and cheerful.
"Miss J! Hello!"
"Hello, sweet girl." Miss J’s voice was warm but there was something underneath it—a hint of disappointment, maybe, or hesitation. "I was calling to see if you were free to meet. I have something I wanted to discuss with you."
Bella’s heart lifted at the thought of seeing Miss J, but then she remembered where she was. "Oh, I’m actually on vacation right now. I’m at Nonna’s house with the whole family. It’s a rare thing, everyone being together."
There was a pause on the other end. Then Miss J’s voice came through, softer now. "Oh. I see. That’s wonderful, sweet girl. I’m glad you’re spending time with your family."
But Bella could hear the disappointment in her voice. It was subtle but she could easily detect it. A slight drop in her tone, a hesitation between words.
Bella’s heart ached. She didn’t want Miss J to feel sad. She didn’t want her to feel like she wasn’t important.
Bella said quickly. "Miss J, when I come back, I promise I’ll meet you first. The very first thing I do. I’ll call you as soon as I’m back, and we can meet wherever you want."
There was a moment of silence. Then Miss J’s voice came through again, warmer this time. "That sounds lovely, sweet girl. I’ll look forward to it."
"Good. It’s a promise."
They said their goodbyes, and Bella hung up.
She stood on the porch for a moment, looking out at the rolling hills, the blue sky, the golden afternoon light.

Dinner Time
The dining table was long and warm, covered with a soft cream tablecloth and scattered with dishes of Nonna’s famous home-cooked food. The aroma of roasted meat, fresh herbs, and warm bread filled the air.
Everyone was seated peacefully. Leo at one end, Alessandro at the other, and the rest of the family scattered between them. The clinking of cutlery and the soft hum of contentment filled the room.
No one was talking. It was a comfortable silence that came from being surrounded by people you loved.
Until Nonna broke it.
Nonna announced, her voice loud and clear, cutting through the quiet like a knife through butter. "My baby cheek Jay! When are you going to marry...?"
Jay froze mid-bite, his fork hovering in front of his mouth. His eyes widened like a deer caught in headlights.
Nonna continued without missing a beat. "I asked Angel to send you a PDF of good girls. Did you receive it? Do you like any of them?" She leaned forward, her eyes twinkling. "There are some very nice ones.. Very nice.. Good families.. Good cooking skills...Good—"
Angel, Nonna’s assistant, takes care of all her tasks well. Nonna is very fond of her.
Jay began coughing violently, a full-blown, choking-on-air, face-turning-red cough that racked his body. He pounded his chest with his fist, his eyes watering profusely from the strain.
Jace, sitting beside him, immediately reached over and patted his back firmly. "Breathe, Jay. Breathe."
Jay gasped, still coughing, his face now a shade of red that nearly matched the tomatoes in Nonna’s garden.
Nonna looked at him with concern. "Are you okay, baby cheek? Do you need water? Did the food go down the wrong pipe?"
Jay waved his hand frantically, still unable to speak.
Leo, seated at the other end of the table, looked at Jay meaningfully. And then he said, "Nonna, have you asked him if he likes anyone? Maybe he’s hiding his lover, worried we might not agree because of status... or maybe..." he paused, "...
Jay’s coughing intensified.
He sounded like he was trying to cough up a lung.
Jace patted his back harder, his own face slightly pink. "You’re fine. You’re fine. Just breathe."
Bella, sitting beside Leo, pinched his waist under the table hard.
Leo’s dark eyes shot to her, his expression shifting from calm to something hotter, sharper. His gaze said everything:
Bella met his gaze without flinching. Her look was clear:
He could be a mafia lord outside. He could make men tremble with a single glare. But for her, he was just Leo. Her lion...Her wolfee...Her big, soft-hearted husband who had no choice but to listen to her.
Or else.
She raised an eyebrow at him.
Leo’s jaw tightened, but there was a flicker of something warm in his eyes. Something that said,
Nonna, oblivious to the silent battle happening across the table, turned to Jace.
"And you, my handsome boy," she said, her voice bright and cheerful. "Do you have any secret lovers? Anyone hiding in the shadows?"
Jace’s face went red. "Nonna, please—"
Nonna interrupted. "Don’t ’please’ me. I want great-grandchildren! Bella is still so young and studying, so I am pinning my hope on you. And I’m not getting any younger, you know." She pointed a finger at him. "I expect at least two by the time I’m ninety."
Alessandro chuckled softly from the other end of the table. "Mother, you’re going to scare him away."
Nonna waved her hand dismissively. "I’m not scaring him. I’m motivating him."
Lina smiled, shaking her head. "Nonna, give him time. He will find the right person when he is ready."
Nonna muttered. "That’s what they said two years ago. And still nothing. I’m losing hope."
Jay finally managed to stop coughing. He took a long sip of water, then looked at Nonna with pleading eyes. "Nonna, I love you. But please, no more PDFs. I can’t handle another one."
Nonna tilted her head. "Why not? They’re very good girls. I spent hours selecting them."
Jace muttered under his breath. "I’m sure you did."
Everyone pretended not to hear.
Nonna sighed dramatically. "Fine. I’ll give you a week. Then I’m sending another PDF."
Jay groaned and dropped his head onto the table.
Bella laughed, the sound bright and warm. She leaned toward Leo, her voice low enough for only him to hear. "You started that."
Leo looked at her, his expression innocent. "I have no idea what you’re talking about."
Bella shook her head, but she was smiling.
Nonna clapped her hands together. "Okay, enough talk about marriage. Let’s eat! I made tiramisu for dessert."
Everyone cheered.
Nonna smiled, her eyes crinkling with joy.
