His Genius Wife Is A Superstar Chapter 5 - Jin Liwei

Previously on His Genius Wife Is A Superstar...
The new owner of Iris Long's body awoke from a coma, assessing her new life and the challenges ahead. Her shallow mother, Wei Lan, focused on material gains and complained about Iris's financial restrictions, while Iris herself remained pragmatic. The new Iris observed her mother's self-centered nature and contrasted it with the original Iris's disgust, hinting at her own neutral yet potentially dangerous disposition.

Wiping beads of cold sweat from their brows, everyone present downed gulps of water. Those tasked with giving presentations during the session appeared as though they had barely survived the trials of the eighteen levels of hell.

Their gazes shifted toward King Yama... or rather, their formidable boss, Jin Liwei. As the President and CEO of Jin Corporation, he stood at the helm of the nation's most powerful enterprise.

He remained as he always was: icy, imposing, and breathtakingly handsome. He was the epitome of a tall, wealthy, and elite man.

Had their CEO not been so terrifying, the female staff—and even some male employees—would have constantly thrown themselves at his feet. Many felt they could die in peace if he merely spared them a single look.

However, dark legends circulated regarding the fate of those foolish enough to attempt seducing the big boss. It was whispered that these reckless mortals were dismissed instantly and blacklisted from the entire business world. Rumors suggested some fell into such despair they committed suicide, while others simply vanished, never to be heard from again.

Whether these tales were true or not, it was an established fact: President Jin Liwei was not a man to be trifled with, let alone insulted.

"Dismissed," Jin Liwei commanded. He rose from his seat and exited the conference room.

Xu Tian, his loyal assistant, held the door open before trailing him to the executive office located on the building's highest floor.

Inside the room, the remaining staff stood and maintained a deep bow until the echoes of their boss’s footsteps faded away. Only when they were certain he was truly gone did they finally exhale. Heavy sighs of relief filled the air now that the meeting had concluded.

Jin Liwei reclined into the plush leather chair behind his massive desk carved from dalbergia wood. With a mask of cold indifference, he listened to Xu Tian’s briefing, his fingers steepled over his chest.

The office decor was intensely masculine, weaving together modern and traditional styles. Every corner of the room radiated an aura of immense wealth and absolute power.

"President, the hospital has informed me that Miss Long has finally emerged from her coma," Xu Tian reported, reading from the documents in his hand. "Her medical tests indicate no major issues, though she suffers from muscle atrophy due to being bedridden for a year. This is treatable through consistent rehabilitation and physiotherapy. There are no signs of brain damage or memory loss. Her recovery speed is exceeding expectations; doctors believe she will be fully restored physically in roughly six months if no setbacks occur. Regarding potential emotional trauma, she reportedly turned down the doctors' suggestions for psychological therapy."

"Who has she seen since regaining consciousness?"

"The first was her mother, Madam Wei Lan, who arrived on the second day. Her manager and assistants visited shortly after, but she apparently dismissed all of them on the spot."

Jin Liwei's eyebrow arched slightly, though he remained silent on the matter. "Has Long Tengfei gone to see his daughter yet?" he inquired instead.

"As of this moment, CEO Long has not visited Miss Long in person since she woke up. He did, however, send an assistant to monitor her condition."

A ghost of a sneer touched Jin Liwei’s freezing features.

"We also discovered that CEO Long has placed a gag order on the news of Miss Long’s recovery. The assistants and manager she fired were paid hush money to ensure their silence. This was all orchestrated by President Long’s subordinates without Miss Long’s knowledge."

"Is he looking into his daughter's accident again?"

"We have seen no signs of that so far. Even if he tries, we scrubbed every trail and piece of evidence a year ago under your instructions. He won't find anything that contradicts the official police report."

"Good. Keep her under surveillance."

"Understood."

Jin Liwei hesitated for a moment, lost in thought. "Is my brother aware?"

"I believe not. Since President Long suppressed the news, the Second Master likely won't find out unless Miss Long contacts him personally to tell him she is awake."

Jin Liwei gave a relieved nod. "I want her kept far away from Chonglin and Fan Luo. My brother’s wedding to his fiancée is approaching, and our families cannot risk any scandals right now."

"Understood. Is there anything else, President?"

"No. You are dismissed."

Xu Tian bowed respectfully before exiting to his own workstation outside the office door.
