Heaven, Earth, Me Chapter 1655. Inspecting the Guardian Treasury.
Previously on Heaven, Earth, Me...
While Yasenia meditated, the girls stepped out of the Guardian Tower and breathed in the fresh air. They could feel the composition of energy slowly changing as the seal formations melted away. The merging of the Secret Realm with the outside world was a slow process.
Heaven, noticing such a large patch of land surging from a Secret Realm, needed to fuse it with the existing world and shift the land. This could cause earthquakes and other natural phenomena across the entire plane.
Regardless, this was a matter for later. Tatyana walked toward the largest treasure managed by the guardians and forced them to open it. "Let’s see..."
Tatyana looked around, with not much expectation. Nevertheless, she was proven wrong after walking around inside for a while. Valeria had guided them to a massive, meticulously tended Spiritual Herb garden.
"I can sense several one million, one and a half million, and even over two million year-old Spiritual Herbs here."
Tatyana was impressed. While she also possessed a personal garden with this quality of herbs, seeing one here was a surprise. Moreover, this surpassed all the herbs Yasenia had ever gathered by more than one or two levels. In terms of value, even a tenth of this garden was incomparable to what Yasenia had.
Kali looked around, her five fox tails happily wagging. "Honestly, this garden alone is worth everything we’ve done."
The girls didn’t disagree. Once this garden was placed inside Yasenia’s World Storage, it would become largely self-sustaining and rapidly produce herbs of this quality. Yasenia had never spared any effort in developing the garden inside Garest, allowing the World Storage to fuse it with Earth, Water, Wind, and Wood Natural Treasures she had found.
Four Natural Treasures! That was wealth even Seventh Realm Cultivators would have no choice but to look at with envy. Natural Treasures were useful for all cultivators, regardless of realm. A recently started cultivator or a powerhouse at the peak of the Seventh Realm, any of them would be delighted to have a Natural Treasure if they had none before.
Even when you had one, gaining others became a universal currency that, instead of losing value as you advanced your cultivation path, did the opposite. The later you "spent" Natural Treasures, the better treasures you could exchange them for with stronger cultivators.
Murong Xianyu spoke as the leader of the eight guardians. "If you are this interested, you can take some of the plants here."
The girls blinked. ’Some? Did she just say some?’
Tatyana smiled at her and chuckled. "Sure. Thank you. Let’s continue looking around."
Inside, she was sneering. ’Some? This entire treasury is about to vanish inside Yasenia’s storage ring. Well, whatever. It’s better not to cause trouble before Yasenia wakes up from her meditation.’
Treasures here were also quite high quality. Transcendence Ranked treasures were piled up in small mountains, while Low Star Supreme Ranked treasures adorned the sides of the walls in the thousands.
Tatyana saw mid- and high Star Supreme Ranked treasures from time to time. "What about Ancient Ranked Treasures? I can see some Eight Star and Nine Star Supreme Ranked Treasures. You must have some Ancient Ranked ones, right?"
Murong Xianyu frowned for a second. "We do, but it is difficult to access them."
Tatyana asked, confused. "What do you mean?"
Murong Xianyu explained. "Truthfully, this treasury was prepared by the original guardians. Taking out treasures below the Three Star Supreme Ranked Treasure is not a problem. Anything above that, though, needs their permission. In this treasure, there are remnant soul strands of those guardians. If you try to leave with treasures above the Three Star Supreme Rank, they appear to stop you."
Following that logic, Tatyana understood that Ancient Ranked treasures would be much more guarded. For starters, the only reason Tatyana asked if they had any Ancient Ranked treasure was that this world came from the Exalted Heaven. So, if this treasury was created before the fall, the appearance of Ancient Ranked treasures would not be impossible.
As for the higher-level Immortal Ranked treasures... Tatyana didn’t have any hope for them.
Even in the Blue Pearl world, Immortal Rank treasures were so scarce that their existence was unknown even to some Seventh Realm powerhouses.
Still, she asked, just in case. "Is there anything above Ancient Rank?"
Murong Xianyu blinked, confused. "Isn’t Ancient Rank the highest rank for treasures?"
Tatyana shook her head. "Forget it. Returning to what we were speaking about, you said that there is a need for verification to wield the Ancient Ranked treasures, right?"
Instead of the guardians appearing when trying to take them out, for Ancient Rank treasures, they didn’t even allow them to approach without verification. ’I can probably break through whatever verification method they have. Still, if we can get them without forcing, it will be less bothersome.’
Murong Xianyu guided them, reaching a long, empty passageway. Walking down the empty yet strangely solemn corridor, they arrived in front of a large, circular door. It was around five meters tall, with symbols of eight daggers and inscriptions of profound formations. The main color of the gate was a light silver, with the markings varying in color from golden to blue to red.
"I imagine that those are the eight Honor Daggers of the originals."
Murong Xianyu nodded and spoke at length about the details of the door. She explained the significance of some of the engravings, what the Honor Daggers for each of them meant, and many other details.
After almost an hour of conversation, Murong Xianyu finally reached the meat of the matter. "...Therefore, to be chosen by the door and allow you to take one of the treasures inside, you must pass these trials that..."
Tatyana listened in silence. It was quite bothersome, but she could easily summarize it. "So, I just need to be worthy of these treasures and also swear to return them once I stop using them or die."
That was the most important. The rest of the details were something she could ignore. Murong Xianyu, having spoken for over an hour, frowned gently. "That’s... oversimplified."
Tatyana shook her head. "How many Ancient Treasures are inside? Do any of you have one?"
Murong Xianyu shook her head. "None of us have one. The Prophecy spoke that those destined to come here would be the ones to open them for the first time."
Tatyana blinked and then smiled. "Why didn’t you say that from the beginning? We could’ve skipped that bothersome explanation."
"... Bothersome?"
Tatyana ignored their twitching lips. Either way, these eight were walking corpses. So, their feelings mattered quite little to Tatyana. She approached and then placed her hand on the door.
Once she did, the phantoms of the eight original guardians appeared, their faces solemn. Tatyana looked up. "Hello again."
This time, it was not Han Luan, but one of the men who spoke. "Again? What do you mean, child?"
Tatyana chuckled. "We’ve dealt with the Abyssal Human, so of course, this is not the first time we’ve met. Who knew that this place existed? It is quite a failure from the current guardians not to tell us~."
The eight guardians frowned, slowly digesting her words. That man who spoke opened his mouth slowly. "You... weren’t guided here before the battle with the Abyssal Human?"
Tatyana smiled. "It seems that your successors thought it was too much for us to have whatever is here."
Murong Xianyu and the others flinched. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to guide them; it just completely slipped from their minds. With everything that happened—Yasenia’s anger, their preparations and excluding them from the battle... everything piled up, and they basically forgot.
The original guardians glanced at the current ones, and one of them spoke with a touch of guilt. "...They are not the group of the prophecy. They came before it, so it slipped out of our minds."
The eight soul strands would’ve shown dizzy expressions if they had a body to feel vertigo. The tall man who had spoken at first looked up and then sighed. "Let me... check something."
Closing his eyes together with the other seven, the door in front of Tatyana pulsed. A thin energy wave spread outward, scanning the Guardian Tower. After he confirmed the disappearance of the seal, the man opened his eyes once more, his face complicated.
Inside the door, there were a few treasures with enchantments that could help against Abyssal Creatures. They had not expected that a group would come before the Abyssal Human degraded and, over that, defeated it.
’What if this group had not been strong enough?’
The implications left the eight soul strands almost trembling in fear. After organizing their thoughts, they gave the current guardians one last glance, eyes filled with anger, and then sighed. "It seems that our children have done something... disappointing. Please, take all the treasures inside here."
Forget the trials. The very fact that they defeated the Abyssal Human was more than enough to give them the qualification to ransack this place. Their figures flickered and sank into the eight dagger symbols.
The daggers shone in different colors, the circular door lighting up with gorgeous hues and intricate formations. After a few moments, the door slid sideways and opened, revealing the inside.
Looking inside, the girls confirmed a total of 18 treasures. There were three swords, one bow, one sword and shield, one halberd, one spear, and one large hammer in terms of weapons. As for defensive items, there were four male and four female body-fitting robes. These bodices followed the local culture, but each of them pulsed with powerful energy.
Besides those 16 items, there were two caged... energy bundles. Tatyana glanced at them and raised her eyebrow. "Impressive, a Star and Life Nature Treasure."
Looking around, it was clear that these weapons and bodices were those of the original guardians. Their soul strands wore exact copies of those perched on the gorgeous pedestals.
Tatyana and the others stepped forward with awed expressions. Ancient Ranked Treasures were incredibly precious, even for Tatyana herself. Tatyana muttered. "Let’s see... They are all Three and Four Star Ancient Ranked Treasures. What a good haul."
Kali sighed with a bit of pity. "There are no weapons suited for me."
Andrea smiled. "Don’t worry. Yasenia can probably manage to use her Transmutation skills to create something for you."
Kali blinked and recalled. "Right, Transmutation... Such a profound art. Still, I don’t think Yasenia can use Transmutation on Ancient Ranked treasures, can she?"
"Probably not yet." Andrea shrugged. Then, she pointed at the body-fitting bodices. "Evelyn, will you change those?"
Evelyn nodded. "As much as I’d love to see Yasenia in a body-hugging dress like that one, I believe our dresses are better looking. If we wear those outside, we will become the center of attention. They will cause more trouble than benefits, to be honest."
Andrea laughed. "You are not wrong. Can you modify them, though? Ancient Ranked should be outside your expertise."
"It is for now," Evelyn admitted easily. The strongest dress she had sewn was a Five Star Supreme Ranked Treasure, and that was due to luck. Her usual works ranged between One and Two Star Supreme treasures.
Cecile spoke softly. "Yasenia will be happy."
The girls blinked and then smiled. She, indeed, will be delighted.
