Heaven, Earth, Me Chapter 1645. Meeting The Abyssal Human.
Previously on Heaven, Earth, Me...
Yasenia stepped forward and placed the orb in the middle of the gate. Her lips were arched in her usual slightly seductive smile, but her golden slit eyes were almost lightless. The deep darkness swirling behind them made those who knew Yasenia feel chills just from looking at them.
Tatyana, looking at everything, seemed outwardly calm as well. However, she was not in any better mental place than Yasenia. Her red irises were swirling like a vortex of blood.
Light flashed, and the door’s mechanisms came to life. The orb was trapped in the middle and pressed by several metallic rods. For a moment, the girls felt as if they could hear the shrill scream of the Orkwa Matriarch trapped inside.
Murong Xianyu spoke to Yasenia. "Now, take out your Honor Dagger and place it in the empty slot."
Yasenia followed her orders, her entire body tense and circling with energy at all times. She had been screwed far too much to keep a relaxed front before the guardians. The moment she placed the dagger, Yasenia jumped backward behind the eight guardians together with the rest of her group.
Murong Xianyu and the other seven looked at them, bewildered. Yasenia smiled. "Just in case."
The guardians showed a wry smile, but they didn’t blame her. Focusing back on the door, everyone could see energies swirling and pouring around the draconic Honor Dagger Yasenia created.
The dagger, crafted from Yasenia’s energy, shone with bluish light. The position of the honor dagger was right below the trapped orb, with a slit down the middle connecting both.
A second later, the dagger’s blue energy flashed through the thin slit and struck upward at incredible speed. Before anyone could react, the orange orb was sliced in half. This caused Yasenia’s face to crumple as she shouted. "Prepare for battle!"
Murong Xianyu quickly shouted. "Wait! Don’t do anything!"
Yasenia’s tensed muscles twitched, her eyes glaring at Murong Xianyu without losing her focus on the split orb. "Explain."
Murong Xianyu nodded. "The seal of the orb has been transferred to the door. The orb is now empty. The reason it needs to be split is so that the door can open. Look."
Looking back, they saw the giant doors opening down the middle as they rumbled. The Honor Dagger and the Orb, having split in half, were pushed together with the double door’s opening.
What appeared on the other side of the doors was a vast, white space. The place was truly large enough to be considered a mini-continent. Even with Yasenia’s gaze, she couldn’t tell the end of it by sight.
The guardians spoke. "Follow us. The seal is on the other side."
Yasenia spoke. "Wait. Is the seal across the doors? Or is it further ahead? I don’t want to enter and fight the Abyssal Human yet."
Murong Xianyu reassured her. "Don’t worry. It’s further inside. You will be able to feel the edge of the seal yourself without us telling."
Yasenia pointed with her chin. "Walk ahead of us."
It was more than clear that Yasenia was showing an incredibly cautious approach. Qin Cangming, the tall, imposing man who had spoken before, glanced at Yasenia. "Do you have to act so guarded? Like it or not, we are on the same side. Showing that attitude can hurt our cooperation."
Yasenia’s killing intent flared up for a moment, her pressure devouring the entire room. "If you speak words like that after what you’ve done to us again, I’ll kill you whether you are a guardian or not. Do not test my already limited patience further."
Every single one of the guardians felt their knees almost give up under Yasenia’s terrifying killing intent. The vast, profound, and dense killing intent, unable to be achieved unless one had killed millions, bore down on their shoulders with ruthless potency. Qin Cangming, his face now pale and with sweat beads, spoke up. "I was insensitive. Please calm your anger, Madam Yasenia."
Yasenia closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them. The pressure disappeared, but her smiling expression was now gone. "Walk ahead then. No more chatter unless you need to tell us something."
The eight guardians were both outnumbered and outmatched. So, they did as Yasenia spoke.
Seeing them cross the gates, Yasenia spoke. "Now, come back."
Qin Cangming and the others frowned, but then they realized. Since they said that once you entered the seal you can’t leave, Yasenia was probably testing if the door was the edge of the seal.
The eight all safely crossed back from the white space to their room. Murong Xianyu spoke with a soft sigh. "Is this enough?"
"No. Now walk until you reach the edge of the seal, mark it, and come back."
Qin Cangming wanted to complain, but he didn’t dare. Yasenia’s killing intent had been far too monstrous and left an indelible mark.
With no other option, the eight of them walked for about 10 kilometers, marked the area, and returned. Yasenia nodded. "Let’s go."
The group arrived, always walking behind the guardians. As they walked into the white room, Yasenia felt a different presence and pressure from deep within. The doors had blocked it, but now, the nauseating mass of energy coming from deep inside tingled her senses.
Even Yasenia grimaced for a moment, unable to control her expression. Behind her, Evelyn gagged, while the rest of the girls were not much better.
"What a disgusting presence."
Andrea controlled her churning stomach. "Truly... abominable."
Yasenia asked. "So, can we spread our Spiritual Sense inside?"
Murong Xianyu frowned gently. "I do not recommend it. The Abyssal Human inside can’t tell what’s outside, but once you make your presence known, it will come over."
Yasenia snorted. "We need to deal with it, so seeing it beforehand is a must. Beyond that, what about the Orkwa Matriarch?"
Murong Xianyu explained. "It is designed to be killed after the Abyssal Human. As we said, that thing’s survivability is high. But once the Abyssal Human is gone, its abilities will weaken tremendously. After that, even one of us should be able to kill it completely."
Yasenia was not pleased but nodded. "Alright. All of you, prepare your mental defenses."
Everyone, including the guardians, tensed up and circled their energy. A second later, Yasenia let a wisp of her energy infiltrate beyond the transparent window.
SCREECH!
A scream that seemed to come from the very depths of the Abyss shook the space within the seal. Thankfully, the walls blocked the effects, only leaving that nail-scratching sound.
A moment later, what they expected didn’t come over. Instead, a mass of flesh and twisting limbs was running over. The giant meatball, for lack of better descriptive words, approached and struck against the seal with terrifying force.
BOOM!!
The place shook slightly, the wall of multiplying purplish red flesh moving in stomach-churning ways. Several tongues licked the edge of the seal, trying to taste Yasenia’s energy or whatever remnant there was from that single wisp.
Yasenia’s face crumpled. "...Aren’t Abyssal Humans humanoids?"
This time, Tatyana took the reins. "They are humanoid when their sanity... or whatever they count as being sane, is intact. This thing has been trapped in this seal, alone, for over a million years. Perhaps over two. I’ve been checking the seal, and this place forbids anything close to meditation. So, the monster has spent that time in mortal measuring. Its mind is naturally twisted beyond what it already was."
Angel frowned. "Why is it... Licking?"
Tatyana looked at the lump of flesh and spoke coldly. "Abyss beings are strong, but they are also somewhat fragile. If they do not feed, their strength goes down, and they can even fall from rankings. They can go from Abyssal Humans, down to Abyssal Nightmares, and further down to Abyssal Horrors."
Yasenia looked at the mass of flesh slowly licking the same place with several tongues over and over again and asked. "What is this?"
"Its energy signal is still that of an Abyssal Human. However, we can consider it a quasi-Abyssal Human about to drop to an Abyssal Nightmare. It will decrease in just a few thousand years..."
Looking at the eight guardians, she had cold red eyes. "Your prophecy probably took this into account. Instead of waiting patiently for that time, you lot decided to meddle with the outside world and led us here."
The eight guardians were honestly clueless about these things, so they all frowned. However, none of them answered back. Instead, Yasenia asked. "If their prophecy was about fighting this thing once it went down in rank, will their methods even work now?"
Tatyana spoke. "Probably not as well as we expect. Nevertheless, the difference between those prophecy people and us is that you and we are here. Moreover, the maid group is also not weak at all."
Yasenia was silent. "...Is it possible to kill it without deaths?"
Tatyana spoke while shaking her head. "That’s the wrong question. If there is even one person who dies, we are screwed. The Abyssal Human, like all Abyss dwellers, can get stronger by devouring Heavenly energy and everything under it. Naturally, cultivators are part of that too. So, if even one person dies, things will become incredibly complicated."
"I see."
After that, they all got silent. Yasenia sent another small wisp of her energy to a slightly farther-away corner. The Abyssal Human jumped in that direction, slamming against the seal and splattering fleshy bits over there. "...It was a nuisance."
Honestly, having it in front doing its... weird flesh dance was not pleasant in the slightest.
Tatyana spoke up. "Mirrory, Valeria, any opinions?"
Mirrory appeared behind Angel, hugging her head between her ample bosom. "We have to be careful."
Yasenia grimaced. If even Mirrory was speaking like that, this opponent would be far from easy.
Valeria glanced at it, speaking with a pondering look. "No summons are allowed during the fights. While not as nutritious as a cultivator, it will feed it more than it damages it."
Tatyana flew over, a string of energy seeping into the seal to check. "It’s strength is comparable to a very strong Level Nine Transcendence Realm... or a very weak Half-Step Transcendence Realm."
"Half-step...?" Yasenia murmured, her eyes looking solemn. "What about [Laws]? Can it use them?"
"That’s the only saving grace in this entire mess." Tatyana sighed. "This thing will act similarly to the Golden Guardians. We won’t be able to use our Intent Domains freely, but it won’t use them as well. As I said, its mind is a touch too far gone. This makes it unpredictable, though."
"Speaking of them, can we use them?"
Murong Xianyu, who had been listening, spoke up. "We can. Those were built for this."
"We cannot." Tatyana looked over coldly. "They are useless against the current Abyssal Human. You eight are also useless and won’t be entering with us. Also, Valeria, Soluna, and Fylia, you three will fight the furthest back. If any of you fall into their clutches, it’s over for all of us. Now, let’s prepare."
