While walking down the street, Wu Lan Xin had her eyebrows furrowed. Around her, an entourage of guards and some attendants followed her. “Are you sure?” 

Walking by her side, a man in dark robes bowed. “Yes, Young Miss. We’ve noticed a group of almost three hundred beauties of unknown origins walking down the street.” 

“Ugh…” Wu Lan Xin rubbed her forehead. “Why are they so careless? Don’t they know how many lecherous people walk around the streets?”

“If I may… Young Miss, their strength seemed extraordinary.”

Wu Lan Xin shook her head. “Can they be stronger than Han Chuan’s father? That man is one of the eight guardian deities.” Speaking till here, Wu Lan Xin couldn’t help but sigh. “How can such a wastrel be born from the union of Lord Han and Lady Zhe? Both are top-tier experts, yet their son is buried in women's bodies daily…”

Thinking to this point, Wu Lan Xin hastened her steps. “Let’s go quickly.” 

As she expected, Han Chuan and his group were already at it when she arrived. Wu Lan Xin couldn’t even give a glance to the group of beauties before she used her usual cold voice to scold the man. “Han Chuan! Are you at it again?! Scram for me before I beat you up!” 

Wu Lan Xin was not only the eldest daughter of the Wu Family, one of the eight great families, but she was also the most favored heir to hold the next position as the Wu Guardian. So, when Han Chuan saw her, his face crumpled. While he was drooling to get Yasenia’s group, he knew not to provoke that little ancestor. 

Seeing his pathetically retreating figure, Wu Lan Xin was about to sigh when she felt a gentle breeze carrying an absolutely delightful floral scent with it. Looking at the source, Wu Lan Xin came to see two massive white mountains that left her speechless. ‘Why is this blue dress so revealing!? Are you trying to flaunt your curves to the world!?’ 

The deep V cut that showed most of the breasts left little for imagination. Then, when she looked up at the tall woman, the scolding words got stuck in her throat. 

Golden slit eyes as warm as the setting sun, the eyes ending in a faint hook that could snatch souls. The gentle mole below them, long, thick black lashes, and straight yet perfectly proportioned eyebrows. Those features were already powerful enough to cause women insecurities, and yet, they were nothing but a part of the face that Wu Lan Xin could describe as breathtaking. 

Quite literally at that, because Wu Lan Xin and her attendants forgot to breathe when Yasenia appeared with a gentle smile. “Hello, cute girl. What’s your name?” 

Wu Lan Xin already felt that this woman was the most beautiful she had ever seen, and yet, when she spoke, the mellow and attractive feminine voice only made her beauty seep deeper. Scent, view, hearing… all three senses were stimulated by her beauty like perfectly played strings of an instrument. 

“C-Cute girl?” 

Wu Lan Xin believed that her heartbeat was probably loud enough to create echoes. ‘Where did this enthralling woman come from!?’ 

It was, in Wu Lan Xin’s opinion, quite literally impossible for someone with this absurd level of beauty to be unknown. Yet, here she was, meeting and hearing about this goddess-shaming woman for the first time.

Even the guards, who were supposed not to allow anyone to approach, only reacted after being stunned for a few moments. One of them quickly stepped forward, using a mental-pacing breathing technique to fend off Yasenia’s passive beauty.

“Back off. Young Lady Wu is not someone you can approach.” 

Yasenia, whose tail was gently wagging at seeing such a diligent and cute girl, showed a slightly disappointed look. “Is that so…?” 

Wu Lan Xin’s heart squeezed. She squeaked. “T-There is no need to be so harsh to… to… uhm…” 

Yasenia blinked and smiled. “Yasenia Dravory.”

A puzzled look flashed in Wu Lan Xin’s eyes. ‘Such a peculiar name.’ 

However, there were more important things to attend to, and that was… ‘Tail?’ 

The gently wagging tail behind Yasenia captured her attention. This place was dominated by humans, so seeing someone with Beast-Human lineage was not only rare but almost unheard of. 

“U-Um… Lady Yasenia. Would you like to drink some tea in my clan as a guest? I don’t think you and…” Looking behind Yasenia, Wu Lan Xin’s eyes widened once more. She screamed in her head. ‘Where did so many beautiful women come from!? Each of them is a country-toppling beauty!’ 

There were some a notch above the rest, but even the “ugliest” in Wu Lan Xin’s opinion was comparable to her own looks, which were said to be among the best of her generation. 

“Alright, we accept. What is your name, girl?” 

Wu Lan Xin looked back at Yasenia’s face and spoke, a faint stutter in her tone. “M-My name is Wu Lan Xin of the Wu Family.”

Yasenia nodded. “I see. Let’s go then.” 

“Huh?” While Wu Lan Xin was baffled about Yasenia’s beauty, she was even more surprised by her reaction. Usually, people would either flinch in fear, bow down in respect, or shower flattery in her direction when they heard the Wu Family’s name. As one of the eight guardian families, they were naturally incredibly respected. 

“Is there something wrong?” 

The seductive beauty gently tilted her head, adding a cute charm to her already overloaded set. ‘C-Cheating!!! T-Those kinds of gestures can’t be done with that face and body!!!’ 

“A-Ahem. There is nothing wrong. Follow me.” 

She needed to place this group in her clan house before a problem arose. While the Wu Family’s influence was strong, it was not unmatched. So, if Han Chuan gathered some people, even Wu Lan Xin might be in a pinch. 

So, she decisively took them to her mansion. It was absolutely not because she wanted to get closer to Yasenia… yeah. It was to protect her. 

Yasenia followed and asked, looking around with curiosity. “Miss Wu, in truth, this is our first time we’ve come to one of these cities. So, I would like to ask about it?” 

“First time?” 

Hearing the confusion in her tone, Yasenia spouted the nonsense she had prepared before. “As you might’ve noticed, many of us are of Beast Human descent. Even I am someone with dragon blood in my veins. Therefore, our ancestors hid us away in a secret cave, blocked by formations. Only recently did those formations break, allowing us to go outside.”

Yasenia showed an embarrassed expression. “So, um, we are basically illiterate about this world’s matters. You could even describe us as country-bumkins coming to the big city for the first time.” 

‘H-Her embarrassed face is so pretty…!!’ 

Wu Lan Xin cleared her throat. “I see. If that’s the case, let me give you a summary. Our world is called [Emptial]. It is governed by eight cities, each located in one of the eight cardinal directions. Ours is the Southwest, and it is mainly governed by the Han family. Speaking of families, we must talk about the eight main clans. The Han, Wu, Murong, Bai, Feng, Shen, Qin, and Ye families.” 

Yasenia blinked and smiled. “Oh! So does Miss Wu belong to the Wu family?” 

Wu Lan Xin smiled proudly. “That’s the case! I am the eldest miss of the Wu family.” 

Yasenia asked again. “So, why are these eight families so great?” 

“We are the guardian families. Our power and influence don’t stem just from the number of strong men, but because the leader of each family must become a [Great Guardian]. We inherit our family’s [Honor Dagger] and go to the [Collapsed Maw] and guard it. It is an incredible honor and responsibility.” 

Tatyana, holding the thing they captured in her hand, looked at the girl and approached. “Girl Wu, do you know what this is?” 

Wu Lan Xin turned, and her face once more turned a touch redder. ‘W-Wow! This woman is… how to describe her… violently gorgeous? It feels as if she could point and ask you to kneel with no awkwardness.’ 

After admiring Tatyana’s looks, she glanced at the orange orb with yellow lines. The orb was trapped with some black chains and surrounded by a few formation rings. These rings were what Tatyana used as a handle to carry it. Her head tilted, and then she shook her head. “I am… not aware.” 

Tatyana nodded. “Well, we can ask the Wu Family Clan leader later. Thank you, Girl Wu.” 

Wu Lan Xin coughed and spoke. “Um, Lady…”

“Tatyana Dravory.”

“...Lady Dravory, I might look young. However, I am over 3,000 years old.” 

Tatyana blinked and smiled, touching her face. “Oh my. Do I look that young? Do I look 20? Perhaps 19? Sigh, being beautiful is truly a sin.” 

Yasenia used her tail to smack the back of Tatyana’s head. “Don’t tease her, Mom.” 

“M-Mom!?” Wu Lan Xin looked back and forth, baffled. 

Yasenia laughed. “Let’s sit down comfortably first. We’ve been talking while walking, without any refreshments. There are quite a few things we want to ask, so we will impose on you, Miss Wu.” 

Wu Lan Xin nodded, and soon, they arrived at her large mansion. As one of the main clans, even when this house was not the main estate, it was large enough to house several tens of thousands without problems. 

Wu Lan Xin had expected them to be awed. However, there was no response from them, leaving Miss Wu blinking in puzzlement. ‘Was their original home as grand as this one?’

After reaching one of the large reception halls and setting down a large table, Yasenia and her girls sat down, leaving the maids standing as a backdrop. Dune and the other three stood with the maids, not intruding. 

They talked for a bit, and Yasenia hummed. “Alright, Miss Wu. So, to summarize. There are eight guardian families, eight cities, and at the very center, the place you called [Collapsed Maw], where the guardians stand guard at all times. The rest of the place develops around those nine landmarks.”

Wu Lan Xin smiled. “That’s exactly the case!” 

Yasenia leaned on the comfortable chair, her tail swishing in thought. Looking around, she asked. “What do you girls think?”

Evelyn spoke with reassurance. “We must go see that [Collapsed Maw], do we not?” 

Wu Lan Xin was startled, only to hear something even more outrageous. Angel spoke. “We have to talk with those eight guardians as well. They should know something that Miss Wu has not been taught about.” 

“W-Wait.” Wu Lan Xin interrupted, looking around sternly. “You can’t speak such discourteous words. I know that your common sense is a bit lacking due to your self-imposed seal. Nevertheless, you can’t speak about meeting the Lord Guardians as you please.”

Yasenia smiled. “Thank you for your concern. As an apology, I will cook tonight. I am a somewhat proficient Spirit Cook.” 

Meanwhile, with her Spiritual Sense, she communicated with the others. ‘Let’s save the talk for later. There is no need to upset our relationship for these small matters.’ 

After receiving their acknowledgment, Yasenia chatted a bit with Miss Wu to better understand the situation at the place. This time, she was careful not to be too inquisitive about strange landmarks so as not to grab attention. She could squeeze the rest later.
