Heaven, Earth, Me Chapter 1573. Crossing the World.
Previously on Heaven, Earth, Me...
The moment Yasenia pinpointed Cecile’s aura and determined her direction, there was no hesitation. Her colossal dragon wings erupted from her back, and the energy within her three dantians began to surge, causing the very air around her to tremble.
Witnessing the magnificent celestial wings unfurl, adorned with the gleam of the sun and moon, the surrounding maids and onlookers could only stare as Yasenia lowered her stance slightly, her body bending at the waist.
Tatyana swiftly raised a hand, conjuring a protective shield before Feixue, as Yasenia launched herself forward.
The explosive power of her leg muscles and tendons propelled her off the ground, while her outstretched wings beat downwards. The air beneath them compressed so intensely that it became visibly distorted.
In a single instant, Yasenia was there, and in the next, the ground below her erupted as if she had accelerated through liquid rather than solid earth.
BOOM!!
The dragon streaked through the world, the shockwave from her acceleration carving a kilometer-wide chasm into the land. Furthermore, as she surged forward, the friction of her immense speed ignited the atmosphere, transforming her into a fiery comet until her own energy began to buffer the intense effects.
Yasenia beat her wings, her golden, slit pupils alight with exhilaration. How long had it been since she last saw her beloved? Upon her arrival, her emotions had been surprisingly tranquil, having already reunited with all her other companions one by one.
Thus, while excitement coursed through her, Yasenia maintained a sense of control.
It wasn’t until the dormant connection between them stretched taut and finally linked that all composure vanished. Calmness?
Both Yasenia and Cecile felt their emotions surge, caught in a self-perpetuating cycle of excitement, longing, and eagerness that overflowed.
Yasenia's heart pounded as the world seemed to stretch and warp due to her incredible speed. Now shielded by her surging energy, she no longer caused the atmosphere to ignite spontaneously. Instead, the celestial energy enveloping her as she soared coalesced into a radiant beam stretching across the entire sky.
Numerous cultivators and other formidable figures couldn't help but turn their gaze, yet even Sect Masters and other immensely powerful beings found themselves incapable of tracking the entity that had traversed such an unimaginable distance.
All they could do was watch as the celestial blue streak of light effortlessly covered hundreds of thousands of kilometers.
On the receiving end of this connection, Cecile felt the approaching speed, her heart fluttering with astonishment. 'So fast!?'
She had anticipated that Yasenia would become exceptionally powerful after their reunion. Her dragoness was never one to remain idle. Cecile understood perfectly that wherever Yasenia went, she would relentlessly seek out opportunities, devouring anything that could augment her strength, no matter how minor the gain.
Consequently, Cecile had been engaged in a similar pursuit. Secret realms, ancient tombs, martial arts tournaments, sect inheritances, precious resources... Cecile had also been on the move, cultivating in environments conducive to rapid power augmentation.
As a result, Cecile's cultivation realm and Intent Domains had ascended to the fourth level. Moreover, her current might, even within this world teeming with powerhouses, placed her among the absolute elite, though she hadn't yet reached the zenith of the Heavenly Layer realm.
Even so... Cecile felt the gap between herself and Yasenia rapidly diminish, her mouth growing dry. 'Fast is an understatement. She's practically annihilating millions of kilometers as if they were mere steps.'
Above all, as the spiritual connection solidified, Cecile could also sense the potent energy being transmitted through it – a sensation akin to gazing upon a miniature cosmos, profound, enigmatic, and brimming with overwhelming power.
From this feeling alone, Cecile understood she was no match for Yasenia. Not even remotely. Yasenia had evolved into an existence far surpassing her wildest dreams, a realization that was profoundly terrifying.
Her heart raced, a delicate blush spreading across her cheeks. As Yasenia's soulmate, possessing such an immensely powerful partner was a dream scenario. Despite a fleeting reluctance at her own comparatively slower progress, the sense of security and exhilaration emanating from Yasenia's boundless might through their link was enough to transform her usually composed expression into that of a shy maiden.
Those nearby, already stunned by her earlier smile, now witnessed her peerless features enhanced by a tender blush. Some of the attending maids felt an intense heat rise in their noses as blood began to trickle.
Xinghong Wang, however, experienced a different reaction. Initially overjoyed to see Cecile’s smile, his delight soured when he noticed her gaze drift in a particular direction and her cheeks flush. He realized that Cecile's expression was not directed at him, but at something else approaching from the direction she was looking.
Clara observed Xinghong Wang's shifting demeanor but remained still. She had already been fully briefed on Yasenia’s recent accomplishments by the other maids upon their arrival in this world via the communication device.
To her perspective, the man and the entire empire were merely insignificant ants that her Young Miss could easily crush with her overwhelming might.
Nevertheless, to be safe, Clara remained positioned beside Cecile, her body taut and her Qi actively circulating within her.
"Cecile, what are you smiling about!?"
The man’s sharp exclamation jolted Cecile from her pleased reverie. Instantly, the gentle smile vanished, replaced by her characteristic impassive facade. Her piercing blue eyes, framed by a slight furrow in her brow, fixed upon him. "You are loud."
Yasenia was approaching, yet this man was shouting beside her with such an unpleasant expression. What if he disrupted her long-awaited reunion with her soulmate? For a fleeting moment, the mere thought ignited a killing intent in her icy blue gaze. She contemplated eliminating him to prevent any interference, but ultimately decided against it.
’What if the whole empire starts causing trouble? That would be considerably more bothersome. Regardless, once Yasenia arrives, she will silence everyone.’
Unwavering confidence was Cecile’s genuine sentiment towards Yasenia. In her estimation, few could stand tall, let alone cause a commotion, before being swatted away like bothersome insects in Yasenia’s presence.
Upon hearing Cecile’s curt response, Xinghong Wang’s feelings towards her grew even more complex. Despite possessing talent and a seemingly pleasant demeanor, the fact that he had manipulated Cecile into becoming his designated "wife" through a bargain underscored his profound obsession with the Phoenix Girl.
"Loud!? Cecile Dravory, I had intended to spend time with you gradually, but if you conduct yourself in such a manner, I will be unable to restrain myself."
He was patient… provided there were no perceived threats. In his view, Cecile was cold towards everyone, hence his patience. He was content to invest a considerable amount of time in slowly courting her.
Alas, that patience evaporated with a metaphorical slap to the face when he witnessed Cecile’s tender, smiling expression. He realized then that Cecile wasn't inherently emotionless; rather, she was indifferent to everyone… except for the one who elicited such a smile from her.
This was another misconception; Cecile wasn't emotionless but simply indifferent and aloof. She cherished those dear to her, but earning her closeness required significant effort.
Hearing his words, Cecile’s subtly furrowed brow tightened further. "Restrain yourself?"
She was bewildered, not angered. ’What is this fellow rambling about?’
His pronouncements were so perplexing that she couldn't grasp their meaning. Her indifference towards him was so profound that his overt possessiveness and warped affection didn't even register in Cecile’s consciousness.
Xinghong Wang spoke, his expression strained. "Yes. Restrain myself. I do not know who you were smiling at, but remember, you are within the heart of my Scarlet Sun Empire. Here, my decree is absolute law!"
With a forceful command, his voice boomed. "Seal the capital! Whoever is approaching, halt them and apprehend them!"
The Scarlet Sun Emperor, upon hearing his crown prince’s directive, blinked in confusion. "What has transpired to cause Little Wang to issue such an order?"
The empress consort beside him sighed. "Who can say? Let us go and investigate, just to be certain. And first, activate the protective barrier, then we can inquire. We cannot afford for things to go awry simply because we are uninformed of the situation."
The Scarlet Sun Emperor understood the implication and thus authorized the activation of Scarlet Sun City’s formidable defensive formation, preventing any passage in or out.
He then moved swiftly, arriving at Cecile’s courtyard, only to find his usually composed and dignified son glaring with a profoundly disturbed expression at the woman he had brought back the previous day.
"What is happening, Little Wang?"
Before he could finish speaking, Cecile’s calm and melodious voice reached him. "Scarlet Sun Emperor, deactivate the defensive barrier unless you wish for this place to be reduced to ruins."
The reason she issued this warning was that she had been contracted to safeguard this location. Naturally, she wouldn’t actively obstruct Yasenia, but if she could prevent her from devastating everything with a few well-chosen words, she would.
"What do you mean by that?"
Cecile, sensing Yasenia’s rapidly closing proximity, spoke while looking directly at him. "Scarlet Sun—"
"Silence, Cecile! Who do you presume to be, speaking to my father in such a manner!?"
Cecile disregarded the prince’s outburst. "This time, I implore you to place your trust in me. I am uncertain of the reason behind Prince Xinghong’s agitation. However, you must absolutely avoid any confrontation with the one who is arriving."
The Empress had previously conferred with Cecile. After all, Cecile was the princess whom her most exceptional son had chosen. Consequently, she knew that although this young woman spoke sparingly, she never uttered falsehoods.
Still, she was now forced to make a choice between her son and the outsider woman. '...It seems my son is not thinking straight. That expression of his is not normal.'
Prompted by this thought, she looked towards her husband and spoke. "Husband, I believe you should listen."
"NEVER!" The prince shouted. "I'm telling you, if you drop the shield, I will never forgive you."
At his declaration, the Scarlet Sun Emperor's gaze turned cold. "Open it."
"FATHER!"
Was he, the Emperor of one of the world's most powerful empires, to be scolded by his own crown prince? He wasn't foolish and could discern that Cecile's words weren't baseless.
Nevertheless, he fixed his gaze on Cecile coldly. "Explain swiftly. Who is arriving that even this Emperor must show fear?"
Cecile responded plainly. "My wife."
The prince froze.
The Empress's eyes widened.
The Emperor's jaw went slightly slack.
Clara, witnessing everyone's stunned reactions, felt her facial muscles tighten to suppress a full-blown laugh.
"H-Huh!? W-What do you mean?" The prince's anger was completely eclipsed by sheer bewilderment.
Cecile blinked her icy blue eyes. "My wife is arriving. She belongs to the dragon clan, and her strength is beyond measure. Be cautious not to provoke her. I am informing you because I have been employed as your bodyguard in exchange for excellent resources."
Her words struck the prince's heart like daggers, while the Empress felt a bit awkward. 'Um... so the child I thought would be my daughter-in-law actually likes women?'
Recalling their shared baths on a few occasions brought on a strange, flustered sensation.
Meanwhile, the Emperor finally reacted, his brow furrowing. "Dragon Clan? While I acknowledge they are a formidable clan, I don't recall anyone amongst them possessing strength sufficient to threaten us."
Cecile was about to reply, but sensing something through her connection, she ceased speaking. "She has arrived."
Following Cecile's gaze towards the heavens, an immense pressure, akin to a deity's descent, enveloped the Scarlet Sun Capital.
Above them, a dragon woman materialized, her wings unfurled and beating with leisurely grace. Observing her, even the usually composed Empress blushed. 'Heavens... no wonder my former potential daughter-in-law favors that woman.'
