Vincent entered his second-year Class B6, where classmate Sean mocked him about the impending second awakening, implying failure and relegation to a lower class. Ignoring the taunt, Vincent listened as teacher Dave Wise announced the midday awakening event and lectured on mage professions, from elemental to taboo variants, emphasizing talent's role in forming and strengthening illusory cores. During break, Sean tried luring Vincent away by falsely claiming Professor Mathew summoned him, but Vincent recognized the deception and rushed to the laboratory despite the delay.

(From MC's Perspective)

A few moments later,

I rode the elevator up to the third floor once I had verified it. Upon stepping out, I noticed the lab lights glowing brightly. "Looks like he's already inside the lab," I whispered to myself. In just a couple of breaths, I reached the entrance. The door was secured by a security mechanism. To get permission, I hit the visitor button.

[Ding! - The Door is opened]

As soon as I saw that, I stepped inside, and the door sealed shut behind me. The sight before me always managed to hold my attention. To the left of the desk sat various advanced devices. On the right, multiple flasks held vibrant liquids. While I inspected the items, the sound of footsteps reached my ears.

I spun around and spotted Professor Mathew flipping through documents. Seeing him made my face darken, so I quickly approached and cleared my throat, saying, "Ahem, Hello! Professor. Sean told me you wanted me to come over."

Professor Mathew set aside his papers right after hearing the voice. Since he had granted entry, he knew someone was there.

Professor Mathew was a sixty-year-old instructor. He was an Earth Mage at level 4 limiter. Yet he looked about fifty. His eyes were dark, and he had no hair on his head. A few lines creased his forehead. He had a lean build. He wore a white lab coat over his sweatshirt, paired with black dress pants.

Upon hearing Vincent's request for help, he started pondering. For a short while, silence hung between them. Vincent knew he was just taking time to remember.

Eventually, Professor Mathew remembered asking an unfamiliar student a few days back to help shift some things. The boy had agreed eagerly then, and he expected him sooner. Instead of coming, the boy passed the job to someone else. Shaking his head in disappointment, Professor Mathew thought about it.

Sean Waltz had awakened as a Power Mage, which gave Professor Mathew a reason for this choice. It belonged to the Physique Variants in the Strength Category. That profession boosted his power considerably. Thus, Sean's strength surpassed his peers by double.

After gathering his thoughts, Professor Mathew faced Vincent and cleared his throat. "Cough." "Kid," Can you give me your name?" He spoke gently to ease the boy's tension.

Relief washed over me at his words. "Professor, I'm Vincent Carey from Class B6," I replied, glad he recalled now.

Professor Mathew nodded and signaled for him to come along. He led the way cautiously to a nearby chamber. Seeing this, Vincent followed without question.

In mere breaths, they entered the neighboring room, which was also secured. The Professor punched in the access codes to unlock it.

[Creak! The Door Slid opens]

Professor Mathew went in first, and I trailed behind. The door closed automatically after us.

For a moment, I felt confused staring at the items ahead. Innumerable shiny rocks, each the size of boulders, filled the space. Most shimmered in turquoise blue. Shock hit me, "Professor, What is this?" I exclaimed, stunned.

Noticing Vincent's confusion, Professor Mathew grinned and answered, "These are meteorite rocks."

"What?" I was even more surprised.

Puzzlement deepened; why did they glow like that?

Meanwhile, he didn't pause for more inquiries from Vincent.

"I know, it's confusing," Professor Mathew clarified. I'm investigating the reason behind this glow. This boulder is merely a fragment from the massive meteorite that fell. The main piece was taken by officials. I shelled out a lot to acquire these remnants.

That revelation left me in awe. These were just scraps from the primary meteorite. Like he mentioned, the oddity intrigued me too. The meteorite stones appeared pitch black at first, but closer inspection revealed subtle features. Under light, a turquoise blue tint emerged.

"I intend to transfer this material to the second-floor lab," Professor Mathew continued. There's plenty of space there to keep and examine it on its own.

At that, I mused inwardly, "That explains why he sought Sean's help." His strength, enhanced by his Mage Profession, made him ideal. Still, I rubbed my temples anxiously. I had no idea how to handle moving these. My own power wasn't enough to shift them all together. What now?

Observing Vincent's bewilderment, Professor Mathew smiled. He had spotted right away that Vincent's Mage Power hadn't awakened yet. He kept him around to brief him on the job, so he could fetch someone stronger if needed.

"Alright, Professor," I said after a deep breath. "I'll handle the smaller rocks by myself; for the bigger ones, I'll get a friend to help."

"Hmmm, I'll be on the Second Floor," Professor Mathew replied upon hearing it. "You can transport these rocks one by one safely." With that, he left the room, leaving Vincent to think things over.

Once Professor Mathew departed, I began assessing the meteorite rocks. Better to start with the smaller ones. Deciding that, I approached the tinier pieces. I gripped one and hoisted it up.

Meanwhile, Professor Mathew reached the second-floor lab. He began checking for any required adjustments.
