The protagonist successfully rescued Forbidden Wizard Erwin from prison island, narrowly evading an Elder-level wizard. They found a safe, uninhabited island to rest and assess their haul of resources, distributing some to the grateful rescued party.

Island

After placing the bracelet, I vanished from the spot and landed a few meters away from him. The system would block his sight of me.

At the same time, Forbidden Wizard Erwin opened his eyes. He felt someone had appeared, but he sensed no mana presence. It was only his intuition.

He looked around. His gaze then fell on the bracelet behind him. He was shocked; he didn’t know when the bracelet had appeared.

He took the bracelet and checked it. He could tell that there were no restrictions placed on it. It was safe.

He then checked the items inside and was shocked again. There were much-needed healing resources inside-12th Grade Healing Resources, at that.

He didn’t know who had done it, but it was clearly done to save him. For a second, he was confused. He didn’t know whether he was still imprisoned or not.

If he was inside another prison cell, there would be no need for the enemy to help him. He knew about the crazy old woman in particular. She liked to torture her captives; why would she help him?

He then shook his head. He couldn’t figure it out. He didn’t know what the covenant people were planning. It could be related to their next scheme.

He took the healing resources from the storage bracelet and consumed them one by one. The herbal magic plants and fruits were clean and without contamination.

He needed these resources to heal himself. Even if a dangerous situation arose, he could still put up a fight.

Meanwhile, I watched Elder Erwin consume the healing resources. I sighed in relief. I had been worried that he might not touch them out of doubt.

Now that he had consumed them, his bleeding would stop. Elder Erwin would get his strength back soon.

Next, I appeared inside the hall and entered the control room. I stepped in front of the control mirror to check. The situation outside was calm.

The members had gone out to explore. They could handle any situation themselves, so I instructed the zero puppet to keep watch.

I went back to my room, sat on the floor, took out a few super-grade mana stones, and began to practice.

Outside.

The members were getting a breath of fresh air. They had been inside the mansion room for some time and had been waiting for an opportunity to come outside.

Now that their Master had safely rescued the Silver Tower Elder, the pressure on them had reduced as well.

They could spend much more time on the island. Otto and Patrick were walking through the dense vegetation.

They didn’t lack any resources, since their Master had given them the storage bracelets of the captives earlier, but they still wanted to explore this new place.

Otto walked along the path while using his magic power. He could only hear small insect noises and the rustling of the wind.

There were no other members nearby; the others were a further distance away. Patrick, who was next to him, found the place interesting as well.

He possessed vine magic, a plant-based magic. If he could find anything useful to him here, he would be happy.

Just as they were chatting and continuing along the path, they abruptly stopped moving.

The smiles on Otto’s and Patrick’s faces disappeared because they sensed the presence of a monster ahead. They had just stepped into a monster’s territory.

They looked at each other and turned toward the area ahead. They saw a small lake, and they were getting a hint of danger from it.

"There is the presence of a monster ahead," Otto said.

"Didn’t the Master say that the place was totally safe?" Patrick uttered.

"The monster might have hidden its presence," Otto replied.

Both of them grew curious and walked up to the lake. When they reached the edge, they saw the black lake water and were taken aback.

"What is this?" Otto uttered.

Patrick raised his eyebrows. He was about to use his plant magic.

Boom!

Just then, a massive tentacle, over twenty feet long, shot out from the lake water. Both Otto and Patrick were shocked.

The massive tentacle was coming at them at a fast speed.

Swoosh!

They moved backward to evade the attack, but the tentacle continued to chase them.

Boom!

Patrick felt the urge to fight. Losing his composure, he used his plant magic. In the blink of an eye, several plant vines rose from the ground.

He tried to bind the massive tentacle. In the blink of an eye, more than fifty plant vines wrapped around its body.

Otto watched the scene. He was not surprised by Patrick’s intention to fight. It had been a long time since they had fought an enemy.

Recently, they had been coming across Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards, against whom they clearly didn’t stand a chance. Because of this, the members were all quite frustrated.

He wanted to fight an opponent as well. Now that a monster had appeared, it was a good opportunity for both of them.

Boom!

The next second, the large tentacle abruptly flexed, lifting high into the sky.

Snap!

The vines tightly wrapped around it broke one by one. It didn’t take long for all the vines to snap.

The massive tentacle then descended. In the blink of an eye, it struck the ground, and the shockwave spread outward.

Boom!

Patrick was within range. He was taken aback by the sudden increase in the tentacle’s strength and took the brunt of the impact force.

He withstood it, but the surrounding dense green vegetation was swept away. The shockwave had cleared out the land.

The lake now became more visible. It seemed the monster had been asleep and hadn’t made a move for a long time.

They had trespassed into its territory, and the monster was awakened by their presence.

Patrick moved to Otto’s side.

"Why aren’t you attacking?" Patrick asked.

"I’m waiting for the main body to appear. Only then will my magic power work," Otto said.

Hearing that, Patrick’s eyes flashed with understanding.

"Should we call for help?" Patrick asked.

Otto shook his head and said, "It’s hard to come across a good opponent. If I’m not wrong, it’s a 10th-order monster; we can manage it ourselves."

Patrick agreed. They decided to fight it alone.
