The prison island is thrown into chaos as elder magic restrictions trigger, causing tremors that injure and kill some imprisoned wizards. Forbidden Wizard Erwin, locked deep within the cells, realizes something significant has happened. Meanwhile, outside, panicked Forbidden Wizards and Magic Lords are ordered to conduct a full island search for the cause.

Prison Island

I waited for some time before confirming the safe situation outside. I appeared back after a couple of seconds.

I didn’t bring the zero puppet this time. I have this feeling that it’s best for the zero puppet to stay inside the system space.

I looked around the room. Then I used the system to scan the surroundings again. The system results say that there are no Wizards nearby.

A hint of relief appeared in my eyes. I rushed out of the run-down building. Next, I headed towards the underground prison cell.

On the other hand, both the Forbidden Wizards and Magic Lords have searched every nook and corner of the place. They didn’t come across any suspicious people.

So their doubts lead towards the imprisoned wizards in the underground prison cell. But they cannot go to that place.

The rules are strict. They can only wait for the Head of the Prison Island to come back.

Meanwhile,

Inside the Black Mists Forbidden Island, there are many underground tunnels leading to different spacious halls.

Inside one of those big halls, a white-haired old woman is doing some important work. She is none other than the Head of the Prison Island.

Her name is Muriel. She is one of the Elder-Level Powerhouses. She was busy with her work.

Buzz!

Just then, her mirror artifact reacts.

The next second, the face of the old woman changes drastically. She takes out the mirror artifact.

The mirror artifact is not an ordinary magic artifact. It’s an Elder-level artifact.

She had used this powerful magic artifact to put the magic inscriptions on the underground prison cell earlier.

She used her mana power to check. Then she found out that the restrictions were slightly triggered. Even the slightest trigger had caused an island-wide tremor.

Many run-down buildings were already destroyed.

"Who is it?" she uttered in a cold tone.

Boom!

A magic coercion was released from her body. The coercion was so powerful that it shook the underground tunnel.

She realised that something must have happened. Her coercion is affecting the place. Knowing that, she retracted her pressure.

When the coercion was gone, Muriel stood up from her seat. She put away the magic mirror artifact. She left her place and headed back towards the prison island.

Swoosh!

In a flash, Muriel appeared above the ground. She started flying towards the island border. On the way, she came across other Covenant Members.

But they were not Elder-level powerhouses, so they immediately withdrew their gazes. It’s rare to see Elder-Level Powerhouses outside.

It’s an even rarer sight for the Covenant Members. Before they could see it, the figure of Elder Muriel left the place. It didn’t take long for her to leave the island.

Swoosh!

A black streak of energy is going towards the prison island. She flew across the sky. In a flash, she saw a black dot on the sea.

As she goes closer towards the black dot, the black dot becomes larger in size. In the blink of an eye, she reduced the distance and arrived at the prison island.

She then immediately checked the barrier first. Seeing that the outer barrier is intact, she was surprised. She then looks around the surroundings.

Seeing that the outer area was safe, she was taken aback. If the barrier had been triggered from the outside, then the barrier would have responded with a strike.

The strike would have destroyed the surroundings. But she had not seen such destruction around her. She then used her magic artifact.

Swoosh!

The barrier then disappears for a second. She then goes inside. The barrier recovered when the seconds were over.

Elder Muriel spreads her mental power. The powerful mental power quickly began to cover the ground. She sees many Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards scattered across the island.

They were looking for changes as well. Her eyes flashed with anger. If the reason turned out to be these wizards, then she had decided to torture them alive by putting them inside the prison cell.

Meanwhile,

I’m heading towards the underground prison cell. I had to take a few minutes’ pause in between. When I left the last run-down building, I came across the vast land ahead.

There are no run-down buildings in sight. But Hank had drawn me the map, so I trust him. Just as I decided to go ahead, the system voice sounded in my mind.

[Ding! An Elder-Level Wizard is scanning the place.]

The next second, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. I rushed to the control room and arrived in front of the control mirror.

On the mirror, the outside screen appears clearly. Then I saw a black streak of light fly across the sky. Seeing that, the hairs on my body stood up.

In a flash, the black streak of light disappears from sight. The black light reduced its speed when it got closer to the huge well.

Swoosh!

The black light then entered the well. The black light then descends down. There are still imprisoned wizards in the cell who were making noise.

But they were all struck by the mental power.

Boom!

All of them were propelled backwards before crashing into the wall. The injured wizards were injured again. Blood spurted from their mouths and stained the prison floor.

The whole prison quieted down seconds later.

She descends down until she touches the bottom. Her appearance then becomes clear. She then walked up to the huge prison cell ahead.

There is a middle-aged man locked up inside. Upon seeing him fine and unscathed, she broke into a smile.

She then stands in front of the prison gate and watches him. The person is none other than Forbidden Wizard Erwin.

Erwin had already felt her presence due to the insane mental power earlier, so he didn’t open his eyes. He realised that the crazy woman had come to investigate the cause of the tremor earlier.

Elder Muriel looked at the middle-aged man. Her eyes flash with greed. She had not tortured him enough, but it was important for her to investigate the reason behind the trigger.

For that, it would take time. She is going to inspect all the magic restrictions around the underground prison first. Then she will go and check the outer barrier.

Swoosh!

So she glanced at the imprisoned middle-aged man before leaving the place.
