Duncan arrived to find Gaston injured and learned that the Covenant attacked his hospital, killing all the doctors and Supreme Wizards. As Duncan and Gaston prepared to pursue the retreating Covenant members, Boris, Lars, and Sergei also fled the city. Meanwhile, Amaira and her team received the signal to escape and left their hideout, encountering chaos and no aerial restrictions. They detected a battle ahead and changed course to avoid it. Gaston unleashed a powerful acid attack on Lars, while Sergei's needles targeted Gaston, and Duncan engaged Boris in a separate battle.

Outside Land Territory

A fierce fight was raging miles away from Darkmoon City. It was a fight between the Covenant’s Magic Lord Boris and the Black Tower’s Magic Lord Duncan.

The impact force from their fight was shaking the skies. The deafening noise could be heard for miles around.

Both wizards were engaged in close combat.

Boom!

Boris was faster. He appeared before Duncan to interrupt his spellcasting and succeeded in doing so.

It forced Duncan to fight using his physical strength. Both of them were exchanging punches, and the force behind the strikes was powerful.

Both of them were Magic Lords, but Magic Lord Boris had the advantage. He had the upper hand in close quarters.

He intended to use his claws to tear apart the flesh of the enemy.

Sonic!

Whenever a punch missed, it struck empty space, creating the sound of a sonic boom.

Magic Lord Boris turned both of his arms into monster arms with sharp claws. He was not giving the enemy any room to breathe.

Duncan tried to block the punches, but the force behind them was powerful. The impact force was overwhelming.

If he lost concentration, the enemy’s claws could tear through his flesh. He didn’t want that to happen.

As time passed, Boris noticed a pattern. Duncan was evading the attacks effortlessly. If this went on, Boris wouldn’t be able to do anything.

He then cast another spell in silence.

Duncan didn’t even notice.

Boom!

Duncan saw the claws coming at him. He avoided them and punched back. But Boris was prepared; his senses were sharp, and he evaded the counterattack with ease.

When Boris attacked this time, his claws suddenly enlarged in size.

Pfff!

Duncan was caught off guard. He didn’t expect the sudden change in the claws, and they managed to slice through his flesh.

Pfff!

Blood spurted from the wound. Drops of blood fell from the sky.

Swoosh!

Duncan suddenly took off and flew backward, creating a wide gap between them.

He didn’t expect the opponent to cast a spell silently. Not all wizards needed to use a magic circle to release a spell.

He had long seen through the fact that his opponent was a physique-type wizard who didn’t need to rely on magic circles.

Just as Duncan saw through the enemy, Boris saw through his actions. Boris gave chase to close the distance, turning the fight into a pursuit.

Swoosh!

Duncan then took a vial from his storage bracelet. The vial had green-colored gas in it. He broke the vial in midair and threw it into the sky.

In the blink of an eye, a green mist appeared. It began to spread rapidly across the sky.

Seizing the opportunity, Duncan moved away from the spot to widen the gap further.

Right then, Boris came into contact with the green mist. He immediately sensed something wrong with it.

"Poison," he uttered in shock.

He then looked toward Magic Lord Duncan in anger. He didn’t expect him to use such an old trick.

Boom!

At the same time, Magic Lord Duncan cast a magic spell. Black magic circles appeared in midair. The size of the magic circles was massive, they were five times his height.

"Drain!"

Duncan activated the spell. The next second, the black magic circles shot out a pulsating ball of black mist toward the target.

The speed was so fast that Boris didn’t expect it. He tried to fall back, but the spell attack caught up to him and struck him directly.

Boom!

A deafening noise occurred. The spell attack from the Magic Lord was devastatingly destructive.

Magic Lord Boris fell from the sky. He couldn’t move his body or even lift a finger. He realized something was terribly wrong.

The spell was called Drain, it drained the energy of the enemy. Magic Lord Boris could only helplessly watch himself crashing toward the ground.

Thud!

The landing caused a heavy impact, and the shockwave spread across the surroundings. The terrain began to deform.

Swoosh!

Duncan descended. He saw a huge crater on the ground with the enemy Magic Lord lying in the middle. His spell was extraordinary, and its effects would last for some time.

Boris’s strength was completely drained, and he wouldn’t be able to circulate mana efficiently. However, the enemy could still attempt to cast a spell.

Because of this, Duncan didn’t want to get too close to him. Who knew? The enemy Magic Lord might still have a trick up his sleeve.

At the same time, he thought of Gaston. Gaston was fighting against two Magic Lords simultaneously.

However, Duncan had seen the enemies’ spell attacks earlier.

Their magic wouldn’t do anything to Gaston.

Thud!

Duncan landed on the ground. He walked up to the edge of the crater and said, "You guys from the Covenant are really something. You attacked Darkmoon City and my hospital."

Magic Lord Boris heard that, and his eyes flared up in anger. He couldn’t believe the enemy’s spell was actually working on him.

He was a physique-type wizard with monstrous power. At the very least, he should have fared better than other Magic Lords.

He then drew upon his magical power once again. But this time, it was a different spell. Both of his legs began to transform into monster legs.

Not only that, but he was regaining his strength as well. Boris laughed inwardly, though he kept his expression carefully concealed.

He continued to feign struggle. If the enemy came any closer, he would ensure Duncan paid a heavy price.

...

Meanwhile,

Magic Lord Gaston was fighting against two Magic Lords. His spell attacks were completely overwhelming the enemy.

The sky above him was blanketed in dark clouds. The magical roots of the green tree and the silver needles couldn’t even reach him.

Boom!

The power of the acid rain was already inflicting heavy damage upon them.

Magic Lords Lars and Sergei were desperately using their artifacts to shield their heads, but the acidic magic power was beginning to corrode the artifacts as well.
