Magic Lords Boris, Silas, and Sergei discuss plans to take over Darkmoon City, despite the Senior Wizard's concerns about a Black Tower Magic Lord operating there. Meanwhile, Magic Lord Gaston searches the city for an intruder, finding no Supreme Wizards. At Duncan Hospital, the protagonist, disguised as a zero puppet, records evidence of organ harvesting by Black Tower wizards. Magic Lord Duncan arrives at the hospital, searching for missing wizards, and the protagonist confronts him, pulling him into the system space for a fight.

Darkmoon City

Inside the system space, Magic Lord Duncan stabilized himself. When his feet touched the solid ground, he was shocked. It was a blue floor. He looked around and found out that he was inside a blue grid.

The whole situation was confusing to him.

On the other hand, I watched him stand up. He was about to turn around. I didn’t want to waste time. I raised my hand and pointed at him. I cast the 8th stage of the magic spell.

"Gravity Blast!"

Gray magic shot from my index finger. No magic circle appeared. It was an instant cast. The magic beam pulsated forward in a straight line.

Boom!

An air-tearing sound could be heard. Duncan turned around. He saw the incoming attack, but it was too late to act. He hadn’t even sensed the presence of another wizard.

In the blink of an eye, the magic power struck the target.

Duncan widened his eyes in disbelief and pain.

Boom!

An earth-shattering noise rang out.

Magic Lord Duncan felt eight times the power of the Supreme Wizard’s gravity spell.

Even though a Magic Lord’s body is stronger than that of a Supreme Wizard, this magic spell attack was something else.

Duncan felt his bones and internal organs take an immediate hit. His body was blasted away before crashing into the ground.

Boom!

He then landed squarely on the floor with a heavy impact.

Swoosh!

Lady Caitlin appeared next to me.

"Is he the one?" she asked.

"Yes, it’s him. His name is Duncan," I replied.

Her eyes were filled with surprise. She didn’t expect the young man to bring a Magic Lord inside the treasure.

Not only that, he had brought down a Magic Lord–level powerhouse with a single spell attack.

She could tell that the Magic Lord was terribly injured. If that spell attack had landed on her, a cold chill would have run down her spine. She then collected her thoughts.

"What are you going to do with him?" she asked.

"I’m going to kill him, but before that, we need intel from him. I want to know whether he’s hiding any useful information regarding the Silver Tower," I said to her.

Puchak!

Duncan struggled to stand up, but he coughed up blood right away. Blood stained the blue grid floor.

He had suffered gruesome injuries from the attack. His bones were exposed. Blood was dripping from his hands and legs. If it were anyone else, they would have died already.

I looked at his condition and raised my eyebrows in surprise. That was no ordinary spell attack. I had used eight times the spell’s normal power to strike him.

Yet the man had withstood the attack. I checked his profile using the system and found out that his magic was related to the night environment.

It had nothing to do with physique-enhancement magic.

"Who are you?" Duncan asked.

He looked at the two people before him: an old lady and a young man. His eyes blazed with extreme hatred as he glared at the young man.

He knew the young man was the one who had cast the spell just now.

"You don’t need to know my name. But I found out that you’ve been doing something disgusting by harvesting people’s organs," I said to him.

Hearing that, Duncan’s expression changed drastically. Even under extreme pain, he could still think clearly. He hadn’t expected his deeds to be exposed.

Still, it wasn’t entirely a secret. The higher-ups of the Black Tower were well aware of it. He looked toward the young man and realized he could not see through his strength.

Between the strange environment, the unknown young man, and the Magic Lord standing beside him, the situation was bizarre. Strangely, he felt that the old lady was working for the youth.

"Are you from the Mage Union?"

"I’m paying a commission to the elders, so you can’t do anything to me," Duncan said.

"Commission?"

"Whom are you paying?" I asked.

"The elder-level powerhouses from the Black Tower know about my business. They each receive their cut as well," Duncan said.

"Even if you expose this, they will deny it. In fact, they will target you instead," he added with a creepy laugh.

A hint of seriousness appeared in my eyes.

"In fact, he is right. An old organization like the Mage Union cares more about saving face. Even if you prove it, they might not be willing to accept it," Caitlin said.

Hearing that, I pondered. All I wanted was revenge against the Black Tower.

"The old lady is right. Listen to her and let me go," Duncan said.

Blood was still flowing from his wounds, but he managed to endure the pain and speak. However, the spell attack had left him unable to cast any magic.

He couldn’t concentrate while enduring such agony; it was already impressive that he could manage even this much.

"Who said I’m going to reveal the truth to the world? I’m not interested in that," I said.

Lady Caitlin smiled. She had heard about this earlier.

Magic Lord Duncan was extremely pissed off. He felt like he was listening to a joke.

"What are you saying?"

"You captured and attacked me for what, then?" Duncan asked.

"Well, it’s the Black Tower’s fault. You guys sent Forbidden Wizard Remi after me. It’s only reasonable for me to target you guys in return," I said.

"Elder Remi?" Duncan was shocked.

He knew about Elder Remi. Remi was one of the core Forbidden Wizards of the Black Tower, constantly out on missions.

Because he spent most of his time outside, it was rare to cross paths with him. Duncan hadn’t expected Elder Remi to target the young man in front of him. Just who was this guy?

He was terrified that he had gotten caught in someone else’s revenge plot. The presence of a Magic Lord–level powerhouse standing by the youth spoke volumes.

Yet, he couldn’t figure out one thing. The spell attack earlier had been terrifyingly powerful, but it hadn’t reached the level of a Magic Lord or a Forbidden Wizard.
