Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 2078: Taking Action Against Trafficking

Darkmoon City
I appeared outside and went to the main street to gather information. As I was walking along the footpath, I began to pay attention.
But I didn’t come across much information. Just as I thought nothing had happened, I saw the news playing on a big screen in a nearby store.
The news anchor was talking about City Lord Conrad appearing in the sky above the city gate earlier. Short footage was played as well.
Seeing that, my eyes flickered. So I was right. My presence had been exposed. He seemed to have come right after that.
But I was busy talking to the members. Lady Caitlin is indeed an experienced Magic Lord. She has so much experience that she knows about wizards with unique magic.
So the earlier trap was set with some magic power.
As this understanding dawned on me, I prepared to be cautious in the future. Next, I shifted my attention to those dark establishments.
I went inside a local store and purchased a full map of the city. If I wanted, I could use the help of the zero puppet, but I decided to do the work alone.
It was related to the Black Magic Tower. I had already encountered weird trap magic. I didn’t want to make a similar mistake.
After stepping outside, I came across a park. I found a bench and sat down.
Then I began to view the map. I shielded my strength using the system function so that no one could sense my power. The people walking by wouldn’t be disturbed.
I unfolded the map and recorded the information with the help of the system. I marked all the remote areas around the city.
I was going to visit one remote area after another. After selecting my first destination, I quietly left the park.
Meanwhile,
City Lord Conrad reported the information to the higher-ups in the Black Tower. When the elders heard it, they cross-questioned him.
Conrad had no evidence other than his crystal ball. After hearing his response, the elders didn’t know whether to believe him or not.
But they knew about the incident in Rockwell City.
City Lord Robert had been attacked by unknown assailants. These unknown individuals could be enemies of the Mage Union. Everyone was looking for them.
So, the elders decided to send help. They were going to send two Magic Lords there. One Magic Lord would have been enough, but they worried others might think they weren’t taking the matter seriously.
So, the two Magic Lords from the Black Tower would soon leave for Darkmoon City.
When City Lord Conrad heard that help was coming, he sighed in relief. He then ended the call and summoned the officials.
He didn’t want to alarm the city officials, so he didn’t tell them the whole truth. However, he ordered them to tighten security.
He believed that once the Magic Lords arrived, they would thoroughly search the city. If the culprit was a Supreme Wizard or a Level-9 Wizard, they wouldn’t be able to stay hidden for long.
He also didn’t want to alert the intruder. That was why the news had not been made public.
Time passed.
I reached the first remote area on foot. I didn’t use a cab or any other service. Upon arriving, I immediately used the system function to scan for any Level-9 and Supreme Wizards in the area.
[Ding! The presence of 2 Level-9 Wizards detected in the brick building.]
I heard the system’s voice in my mind. I looked around and spotted a two-story building in front of me. The area was quiet, located far away from the main street.
There was no one in the alley at that moment. After making sure the surroundings were safe, I moved toward the brick building.
Swoosh!
I used my flight ability to approach the building, my feet hovering above the ground. In the blink of an eye, I appeared before the front gate.
I saw that the gate was closed, but the windows were open. Next, I went over to a window to check inside.
Two middle-aged men dressed in white coats were cutting away the flesh of some organ. Seeing this scene, I froze for a second.
"System, what is that?" I asked in my mind.
[Ding! The wizards are removing damaged flesh from the organs.]
The system’s voice echoed in my mind. Then I asked whether they were human organs or not.
Once the system confirmed they were indeed human organs, I retrieved the recording stone from the system space and activated it.
The recording stone was a magical item. It could preserve scenes, though they could only be played back a few times. After recording their actions, I stored the recording stone back inside the system space.
Swoosh!
Then, I slipped through the window. The sound of the wind alerted them. When the two turned around simultaneously, they saw a masked man.
I struck their foreheads lightly one by one, knocking them unconscious to the ground.
Next, I stored them inside the system space. Then I summoned the zero puppet outside.
"Master," the puppet greeted me.
"Search the whole building. Collect any suspicious materials or evidence," I commanded.
The zero puppet, enveloped in red smoke, complied and began to work.
Then I thought of Caitlin. I didn’t know whether she was skilled at interrogation. Moments later, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion.
I summoned Caitlin and told her about the two wizards.
"Can you interrogate them?" I asked.
Hearing that, Magic Lord Caitlin grew intrigued.
"I’m getting bored out here anyway. I’m ready to help," she said.
Hearing her response, I brought her inside the system space. Caitlin was taken aback by the unfamiliar surroundings. She saw nothing but an endless blue grid around her.
"What is this place?" she asked.
"Consider it another treasure of mine. But do not attempt to record any information related to my magic or secrets," I warned her.
Hearing that, Caitlin felt a slight burning sensation flare in her mana core.
She had recorded some details previously, though nothing related to her new master’s magic or private secrets.
As she reflected on the warning, the pain subsided. She realized it had been a direct reminder of the contract binding her.
