Rockwell City
The city was slowly recovering. Though City Lord Robert was not present, he had given instructions to follow.
Since the last incident, there were no other attacks reported.
Inside the house of City Guard Captain Roger, someone had come in unnoticed. The person was none other than Covenant Member Amaira.
She had previously used a spell on him. This time, she intended to collect information from him.
Since the senior wizard of the team had given the order, she could not do a half hearted job. At the moment, Roger was not in the house.
However, it was time for his return. Soon, Roger came back from his shift. When he entered the office, he was hit by a mind control spell.
He looked dazed, showing signs that he was under its influence.
"Roger, tell me about the powerful wizards present in the city when the City Lord was attacked," Amaira asked him.
Hearing that, Roger said, "The family heads and the elders of the wizard families were present. Officials from the City Lord’s office were also there during the time of the attack."
Amaira raised her eyebrows and asked, "What about the visitors who had a problem with you?"
"They are staff working in the Appraisal Shop owned by a Supreme Wizard of the Silver Tower," he replied.
Amaira’s eyes flickered. She wondered whether the death of Wizard Tim was related to them.
"Do you know anything about the death of any Supreme Wizard?" she asked.
"No such incident was reported. Only City Lord Robert was severely injured by the enemies," Roger replied. He was still in a daze and under complete control.
Amaira then continued to ask questions. She knew that he was under her control and was not lying to her.
As time passed, she cleared all the doubts in her mind.
She was sure that the appraisal shop people were the most suspicious because they had a strong lineup of Supreme Wizards and a Magic Lord on the same team.
They were working for a Silver Tower Wizard.
She didn’t think they were here for appraisal business. She suspected that they could be spying on each city to collect information about them.
She knew their enemy, the Mage Union, had deployed all the Mage Towers to investigate the Covenant.
So, she thought the death of the team member was related to them. If the senior member were to know, he would think the same as well.
That night, she left Rockwell City. After reaching a safe spot, she contacted the Senior Wizard of her team.
She learned that they were in Darkmoon City. Next, she immediately left for the city.
....
Silver Tower
Manager Lara was trying to contact Vincent Carey, but she was unable to do so. She thought either Vincent Carey was not in the city or he had entered another protected area.
Lord Charlotte had asked her to contact Vincent Carey. She wanted Vincent Carey to stop his actions and didn’t want the appraisal team to go to another big city where they might encounter a trap.
...
Outside Territory
While the raven aircraft was flying in the sky, I decided to control Magic Lord Caitlin. I left the Zero Puppet in red smoke form there and entered the cabin.
The members were taken aback by my appearance. I told them to sit, and then I turned toward Lady Caitlin.
"Lady Caitlin, you wanted to know the truth, right? I’ll tell you. Just grab my hand." After saying that, I extended my hand.
The members were all quiet. They had guessed somewhat, but none of them spoke.
The old woman Caitlin stood up from her seat and extended her hand. She was a Magic Lord and a powerful Magic Lord at that, so she was not afraid.
I grasped her hand.
Swoosh!
The next second, we appeared inside Gregor Mansion.
Seeing the sudden change of place, she asked, "What is this place?"
Even with her Magic Lord strength, Caitlin lost her composure. She looked around and realized that they were inside a house.
Meanwhile, I removed my face mask and looked toward her.
"Lady Caitlin, let me introduce myself again," I said to her.
Hearing that, Caitlin collected her thoughts and looked toward the masked man. But this time, there was no mask; instead, she saw a young face.
He was so young that she was stunned. She felt the person looked like a teenager.
"You are younger than I thought," she uttered.
I smiled and said, "My name is Vincent Carey. I’m a Supreme Wizard of the Silver Tower. I also have an alternate identity called Appraiser Frank."
The words fell like a thunderclap in the head of Lady Caitlin. She stood frozen and continued to look toward the young man.
It took her time to process the information. As she digested it, she recalled the earlier moments when others addressed the young man as Master and Young Master.
Now everything became clear to her.
"Are you serious?" she blurted out.
Hearing that, I took out the Silver Tower badge and showed it to her.
Caitlin’s gaze fell on the exclusive badge. She saw the design pattern and emblem of the Silver Tower.
With her Magic Lord strength, she could tell whether the young man was lying or not. The young man’s voice was calm and steady.
She sighed and said, "I believe you now."
Hearing that, I placed the badge back inside the system space. Next, I took out the Red Scroll Artifact.
Caitlin saw the Red Scroll. The next second, she felt a heavy sense of crisis. She felt that the power from the artifact could truly crush her.
"What is this?" she asked.
Her voice carried a trace of trembling.
Hearing that, I raised my eyebrows in surprise. It was the first time I had seen her with this expression.
Not only was the Red Scroll Artifact filled with a crimson glow, but it was also totally restored now.
I held the artifact in my hand and turned toward her.
I said, "Remember, I talked to you about absolute loyalty. Are you ready to prove it?"
Hearing that, Caitlin’s eyes flashed with understanding. She guessed what the young man might do next.
