General Wizard Market

Time passed.

I explored the market and found some useful things. I bought them with mana stones without bargaining much.

However, there were some stall owners who tried to exploit me. I ignored them and walked past their stalls. They almost forgot that I was a Supreme Wizard.

Not many were like the old woman. She didn’t try to exploit me despite having the strength of a Magic Lord.

I came across monster cubs and eggs as well, but they had low- and mid-level bloodlines, so their potential would be at the 6th order at most.

So, I just inspected them. I remembered consuming the bloodline power of the snake clan, which had a slight connection to gravity magic.

It was a rare encounter that happened back at the Yellow River Academy. I hadn’t come across a similar opportunity since then. After viewing the monster cubs and eggs, I moved toward another stall.

However, system notifications continued to appear in my mind. It was because a shadow was constantly following me.

The shadow was none other than Market Leader Katie. She had been trailing me for some time.

I knew she was keeping an eye on me, but I didn’t hinder her. Then I came across another interesting shop, a toy shop.

An old man was sitting on a chair. I saw him, and then my gaze swept across the shelves. I noticed that some of the toys were made of clay.

When I asked the system, it said that some of the toys were made using an ancient clay technique. There was also a bit of personal magic power involved.

I figured the magic power was tied to the old man. I used the system’s probe function on him, and a status panel appeared in front of me.

When I viewed his profile details, my eyes flashed with understanding. The old man was a Level-9 Wizard, but his magic power had to do with clay.

I felt constant gazes on me. They were from passing wizards, and one of them belonged to Market Leader Katie.

Commotion!

I ignored her and continued to look at the toy shop in front of me. Suddenly, I heard a commotion coming from the opposite end.

I immediately turned toward Market Leader Katie. She saw me as well, and our gazes met.

"I don’t know where the Zero Puppet is right now," I thought.

"System, what’s going on with the commotion?" I asked in my mind.

The system located the source of the commotion and found out that Supreme Wizard Hank had gotten into trouble.

[Ding! Supreme Wizard Hank has encountered some trouble.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. The next second, I left the toy shop and rushed toward the location.

On the other hand, Market Leader Katie saw this scene and smelled trouble. She immediately left the spot and started following me.

Swoosh!

I passed through several stalls in a flash. Everyone felt a strong wind brush past them. I heard the noise growing louder.

It was the sound of a spell attack. I also heard Hank’s voice. My eyes flashed with coldness.

Swoosh!

After crossing several stalls, I exited the market. There was a vast open land in front of me. I looked around and found the stall owners moving away from the spot.

They didn’t want to get caught in the battle. I overheard some of their conversations and understood that the old men were notorious criminals.

I saw Hank on the ground, injured and bleeding.

My eyes flashed with anger.

He was bound by silver wires. My gaze then landed on the short old man near him; the wires came from his spell attack.

Hank was surrounded by five old men. They were all dressed in ragged, coarse clothes, but every one of them was a Supreme Wizard.

Hank felt completely helpless. He had encountered something special in a shop, but he hadn’t expected to be attacked by five old men all of a sudden.

They all wanted to steal his opportunity.

"Give me back the map," the old man said.

"It’s mine. I paid for it!" Hank refuted.

"You clearly don’t understand gentle words." After saying that, the short old man cast a spell.

White concentric magic circles appeared above Hank.

The multi-layered circles released long silver wires, but this time, the wires were covered in spikes.

Seeing that, Hank’s face changed drastically. His magic was non-combatant. The other four men simply watched, enjoying the show.

The stall owners had retreated further inside. No one came to help.

"Gravity Blast!"

I raised my hand and released the 8th stage of the spell attack. It was an instant-cast spell. A gray beam of light shot from my index finger.

Before the sharp silver wires could touch Hank’s body, the short old man was struck by the gray beam.

Boom!

Upon contact, his skin, flesh, bones, meridians, and internal organs were crushed under instant pressure.

The beam annihilated his upper body and continued traveling along a straight path before destroying the trees along the pathway.

It happened in a flash. Once the dust settled, everyone saw that nothing remained on the spot except a few scraps of ragged cloth on the ground.

The white concentric magic circles and sharp silver wires disintegrated into thin air.

Hank was stunned, having no idea what had just occurred.

The other four old men were petrified on the spot. They couldn’t comprehend what they had just witnessed; horror and disbelief were written all over their faces.

One second, their companion was standing there ready to cast a spell on the young man. The next second, he was utterly obliterated.

Right then, Hank noticed the presence of his master.

"Master!" he called out.

Hearing that, the other four old men came to their senses and spun around.

At the same time, the Zero Puppet manifested next to me in the form of red smoke.

"Kill them," I uttered in a cold tone.

Swoosh!

The smoke shot toward one of the old men in a flash.
