Iron Bell City

2 hours later,

A black aircraft is approaching the city. It stopped in mid-air a couple of hundred meters before the gate.

Creak!

A black-haired old man exited the aircraft. He looked around before finding a masked man sitting under a tree.

The old man cracked a wide grin before heading toward the spot. He then landed on the ground and walked up to the masked man.

He recognized the masked man. He knew he was Appraiser Frank. But Appraiser Frank works for Supreme Wizard Vincent of the White Silver Faction.

And he is from the Black Silver Faction. There is always competition between these two factions. He won’t make it easy for the other person.

"Are you Appraiser Frank?" Victor asked.

Hearing that, I replied, "Yes."

The zero puppet is in red smoke form, resting on one of the branches. But it’s recording everything. If the person comes with bad intentions, the evidence can be used against him.

Victor’s grin widened.

He said, "How can I believe you?"

"You could be an imposter?" he added with a chuckle.

I understood that the person was creating trouble unnecessarily.

"If you don’t want the evidence, you can leave," I said to him again.

The old man’s face turned ugly. He didn’t expect the person to disrespect him. After all, the person is just an appraiser hired by Supreme Wizard Vincent of Silver Tower.

He is not afraid of Wizard Vincent. Even if he kills the person in front of him, he doubts whether he would be punished.

His anger flared up. His eyes revealed a killing intent. He decided to kill the masked man after getting the evidence. He will dispose of the corpse. No one will find it.

Even if that new wizard tried to find evidence, the higher-ups wouldn’t punish him for the death of an employee.

[Ding! Magic Lord Victor revealed a strong killing intent.]

[Ding! It appears the person has made up his mind to kill the host.]

[Ding! Host is advised to escape or to kill the person instead.]

I heard the system’s voice in my mind. My heart stirred. I didn’t expect the person to want to kill me over this small argument.

It appears his big ego was hurt. He couldn’t handle the insult. But I had arranged a solution.

"Give me the evidence," Victor said.

Hearing that, I took out the books and notes. Then I put all the books inside a big wooden box in front of him.

"Don’t try to hide any of the books. I have already sent the pictures to the higher-ups," I said to him.

Old man Victor was taken aback. He had indeed planned to keep those books for himself. But now he changed his mind. His anger toward the masked man increased further.

Then I gave the wooden box to him. Old man Victor accepted the wooden box and placed it inside his storage bracelet.

Next, he turned around and glared at me with an evil smile.

"You pissed me off. You can die now," he said, and then he cast a magic spell.

White concentric circles appeared before me. He was pointing the magic circle toward me.

By this time, the zero puppet in red smoke form had already left the tree. It went to destroy the magic circle.

Boom!

I only saw a flash of light. The system warned me with alarm signals.

Swoosh!

Red smoke appeared before me and destroyed the white magic circle.

Magic Lord Victor was stunned by the sudden collapse of his magic circle. He didn’t know what was going on.

Slap!

The next second, his old face was slapped by something hard.

Aaahhh!

The power behind the slap was so strong that his body flew backward before hitting the ground.

On the other hand, the smoke settled. I was witnessing the slapping scene in front of me.

The zero puppet in red smoke form went over to the pit. Magic Lord Victor was lying flat on the ground, his mouth kissing the dirt.

One side of his cheek was red and swollen. He felt dizzy and was in pain. He didn’t know what happened. The last thing he recalled was being hit by something.

Before he could gain any clarity, something hard hit the back of his head again. Magic Lord Victor fell unconscious.

"It’s enough," I walked up behind the puppet and said.

Hearing that, the zero puppet stopped.

"Leave him. He will regain consciousness soon and leave the place," I said.

"Okay, Master," the zero puppet replied.

Then we started walking toward the city gate. Soon, we reached the gate. There was no one apart from us. The zero puppet in its red smoke form remained invisible to everyone else.

I approached the guard and showed my ID from Crystal City. It’s an official card. Crystal City is one of the satellite cities under the main magic city.

Residents of the city can enter the cities in the outer territory without any restrictions.

The guard then allowed me to enter. He didn’t show any surprise or shock on his face. It appears he has seen many strong wizards and people from the satellite cities before.

I walked into the city. My gaze fell on the rock-and-earth style infrastructure. It reminded me of their initial conversation, so the members were right.

The city could be related to the Earth Magic Tower. Then I used the system to find a busy street.

I took a right turn and walked along the footpath.

It didn’t take long for me to reach the hotel. The hotel’s exterior was filled with bright lights. My gaze then shifted to the building itself. It had ten floors.

I walked up to the door and went into the lobby. I saw a female staff member behind the desk. I approached her and began inquiring about available rooms.

The female staff member was sleepy. But after hearing my voice, she opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Hello, guest. We have rooms available," the female staff member said.

Then I asked for a premium suite.

"I apologize. The premium suite is taken. We have other rooms," she replied.

Then I began looking into other options.
