The thieves who robbed the magic store fled the city, heading for a secret hideout. Meanwhile, Supreme Wizard Rebecca of the Water Element Tower arrived in Blue Heart City to investigate recent troubles, and City Lord Elena briefed her on the magic store robbery. Rebecca, suspecting a connection to a larger unknown force, headed to the scene of the crime with Elena.

Blue Drop Hotel

A few minutes ago,

I was watching the news in my room. The zero puppet in its red smoke form entered the room. The zero puppet then reverted to its original form.

The zero puppet then began to reveal everything. It didn’t find anything at the magic store. The magic store was completely ransacked. It was empty.

There was no trace related to the unknown evil force.

Hearing that, I collected my thoughts. Am I relying on the zero puppet too much? The system could find the clues ignored by the zero puppet.

But then, I’m not that interested in collecting intel seriously. If I really want to find out the information, then I can step in.

The zero puppet was still standing in front of me.

My gaze then fell on the sudden breaking news on the television.

[The Supreme Wizard from the Water Element Tower has come here.]

Hearing that, I was surprised. Then I continued to watch the news. They were showing the City Lord and the Magic Tower Supreme Wizard entering the magic store.

Both of them were female wizards. After they entered inside, their guards blocked the entrance.

Seeing that, I raised my eyebrows.

"Is she here to investigate the robbery?" I asked myself. I thought it was possible. The news sure travels fast.

Then I turned towards the zero puppet.

"There is a new development. Follow them to collect information," I said to the zero puppet.

The puppet agreed and left the place through the window. When it was gone from the place,

I left the room and went to meet the members. When I got there, I saw no one was around. I realized they had left the hotel.

Then, I didn’t call them. I sat down on the sofa and turned on the big screen to watch the news.

...

Magic Store

Rebecca and Elena were looking at the ransacked place. It was done to destroy the evidence. Then they went to the treasury room and checked it.

The metal door melted away. There was nothing left inside. The treasures were emptied.

Rebecca furrowed her eyebrows. She was now sure that it was done by an unknown evil force. The metal door was not something just anyone could break.

Even a Magic Lord would find it hard to break it. Yet, the special door melted away.

Elena was quiet. It was her responsibility. She had let this happen. She didn’t know how the robbers had broken into the place.

Rebecca then asked, "Is there any lead?"

Elena replied, "So far, there is no clue of them. We are searching the whole city. But the officials haven’t found anything on them."

"There are not even any witnesses," Elena added.

Rebecca said, "Seal this place."

After saying that, she walked out of the store. Elena followed her, but she made a call to the Manager who was waiting outside.

She instructed him to seal the store.

A few minutes later,

Both of them returned to the City Lord’s office.

Rebecca sat in the main seat. Elena sat opposite her. But they didn’t know a red smoke was already present in the room.

Both of them could neither see nor sense it.

"I think the robbery is related to the attacks happening outside. It must be the work of the unknown evil force," Rebecca said.

Hearing that, the face of Elena changed drastically. She had guessed as much, but she hadn’t thought too much about it. She had been busy finding clues earlier.

Rebecca then said, "I won’t blame you on this matter. The attacks on businesses have happened in other cities as well. Even their protections were the best, yet they failed to stop them."

"You are without manpower here. So, it’s normal for you to get outplayed here," she added.

"Thanks for the understanding, Miss. But still, the higher-ups will demand answers," Elena said.

"Don’t worry, I will support you. Is anything else going on in the city?" Rebecca asked.

Hearing that, Elena began to ponder. She was in a lighter mood right now. She then recalled the news of Appraiser Frank.

"There is one more piece of news. Appraiser Frank from Crystal City is here," Elena said.

"Who?" Rebecca raised her eyebrows.

She had short black hair and dark eyes. She looked toward Elena.

Elena was taken aback. She didn’t expect Miss Rebecca not to know about Appraiser Frank.

She then explained.

"He does appraisal services. He works for Supreme Wizard Vincent of the Silver Tower," Elena said.

Rebecca’s eyes flashed with understanding. She recalled the news as well. Everyone knew about Supreme Wizard Vincent Carey.

But he rarely stayed in the Silver Tower and the Magic City, so not many people had seen him. Knowing that someone who worked for him was here made her confused.

"Is there any auction going to happen?" Rebecca asked.

"No, he seems to just be stopping by here. He will be leaving soon," Elena said.

Rebecca frowned. She thought the person had come here with ulterior motives. Who would take a break in a time of crisis?

Though the Appraiser was not officially a part of the Silver Tower, since he was working for Wizard Vincent, she thought it must be by the order of Wizard Vincent that they were here.

She knew the rivalry between the Silver Tower and the Elemental Towers. The Mage Union had already warned them to avoid internal fighting.

So, she didn’t want to cross paths with them. She then collected her thoughts.

"Ignore them. Don’t try to contact them. Like me, Wizard Vincent must be doing a solo investigation. They might try to collect information from us," she said.

"Okay," Elena agreed.

The red smoke was recording everything. They had no idea about the puppet in the room.

Rebecca was thinking of her next move. She was careful not to divulge any plans. She didn’t tell Elena about them.

She didn’t know whether the enemies had left the city or not. She decided to stay a few days in the city.

"I’m going to stay here for a few days. You can continue your work." After saying that, Rebecca stood up to leave.

Elena followed her to see her off. She was glad that Rebecca didn’t make things difficult for her.
