Otto and Patrick are exploring the city. They haven’t come across anything suspicious so far. The city seems to be organized and calm.

They think it could be because the city is connected to the Water Element Magic Tower. This medium-sized city is vast.

Even the remote areas of the city are developed. Otto is constantly using his magic power, but he has failed to hear anything interesting.

He is frustrated inside. They have been to more than one city now, but they haven’t collected any valuable intel so far except for the puppet formation they had come across by chance.

It was not because of them; they can’t take credit for that.

Patrick didn’t say anything, but he is getting frustrated as well. He has decades of experience and has an eye for people.

He has even come across delinquents before, but they were not at the level of being related to the enemy force.

They are dealing with an unknown, powerful organization that deals with wizard corpses and puppets.

Meanwhile,

Hank and old man Rock are experiencing the same thing. They haven’t come across any useful information. They find it hard to spot any suspicious person in the big city.

Right then, they walked past a coffee shop. The coffee shop was busy and filled with customers.

Hank then convinced old man Rock to have coffee before continuing with their work. They both turned toward the coffee shop and walked toward it.

They walked into the shop and saw how crowded the place was. It was hard to find empty seats. They didn’t find one on the ground floor.

Hank then noticed the steps to the next floor. Both of them used the stairs to reach the next floor.

After coming to the place, they saw there were multiple rooms here. There were open and closed entries visible outside.

Hank looked around and found only one room was available. Then they entered the room. Two sofas were set up on both sides of a table.

Old man Rock sat on one side, and Hank sat opposite him. It didn’t take long for the staff to come and take their orders.

After taking the orders, the staff left the place.

Hank and old man Rock are chatting.

Meanwhile,

A group of people walked into the shop. The leading man is an old man wearing a purple tuxedo. He is accompanied by another old man wearing a black suit.

The old man in the purple suit is called Elder Luke. The old man in the black suit is called Elder Flynn. Both of them are Supreme Wizards.

Both of them are Elders from a local wizard family. Their names are well known in the city.

But not many people have seen them face-to-face, so the customers on the ground floor didn’t recognize them.

Both of them had come here with two guards.

They swept their gaze across the place. They found the crowd was huge; there were no empty seats here.

Then they decided to go to the next floor.

"Elder Luke, there are no empty rooms here. Let’s go to the next floor," Flynn said.

Hearing that, Luke nodded his head. Then they and their guards went to the next floor. There, they saw all the rooms were filled.

Their eyes flashed with displeasure. It is rare for the elders from the two families to see each other.

They didn’t expect the place to be so filled with people.

Luke decided to leave.

Flynn said, "I’m going to clear one of the rooms."

After saying that, Flynn ordered his guards to clear out the last room.

Seeing that, Luke ordered his guards as well. Next, the four guards walked toward the last room.

Inside the last room, Hank and the old man Rock are speaking to each other.

Knock!

Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.

Hearing that, Hank frowned. They hadn’t ordered anything yet.

"Come in," Hank said.

The next second, the guards walked inside. Their gaze fell on the two people, and their expressions turned serious. They found out that the guests inside were powerful.

One of them is a Supreme Wizard. The other one seems even more powerful than a Supreme Wizard. The guards are not stupid enough to blindly offend someone.

One of them said, "We apologize."

Then the four guards returned to the elders. Both of the elders heard the apology and were confused. Who could make their guards apologize?

"Elder, the last room has a Supreme Wizard and a Magic Lord," one of the guards said.

Hearing that, the faces of the elders changed drastically. They knew it was impossible for them to be wandering wizards.

If a Magic Lord and a Supreme Wizard are here, then they must be from important forces.

Elder Luke and Flynn looked at each other. They understood they should not offend these people. They walked toward the last room.

Knock!

They knocked on the door once again.

Hearing that, Hank and old man Rock were pissed off. Especially old man Rock, who lost his patience. If not for their Master, both of them would have attacked the perpetrators.

"Come in," Hank said.

Next, the two elders walked in. Their gaze fell on Hank and old man Rock. Especially after seeing the old man, their expressions turned serious.

"We apologize. It was our men who knocked on the door earlier," Elder Luke said.

"I apologize as well," Elder Flynn said.

Hearing that, the expression of old man Rock softened. It was the same case with Hank.

"It’s alright. It happens," Hank said.

Old man Rock nodded his head as well.

Elder Luke and Flynn felt relieved. They both felt as though they had been pardoned. Then they left the place with their guards.

Not long after, the staff came with their coffee.

Hank and old man Rock forgot about the incident, but the two elders didn’t. They were curious about the identity of the people.

Outside,

"What do you think?" Luke asked.

"They could be from one of the satellite cities," Flynn muttered.

"But they are not dressed luxuriously. They could be wizards from an outside territory," Luke said.

"It’s possible. There is no need to have a conflict with them. The situation of the Magic City is not good these days," Flynn commented.

Hearing that, the expression of Luke changed, and he nodded his head. Then they left the coffee shop with their guards.

Inside the City Lord’s office, Elena was done with her work. She was ready to go back home. She didn’t do any suspicious things.

When she left the office, the red smoke floated in the room. The zero puppet didn’t find anything wrong with the City Lord.

She was clean with her work. She didn’t have connections with the enemy force. Since the City Lord Elena had left,

the zero puppet decided to wait for some time. Who knows? Something might occur.

As time passed, no change occurred in the room. Master had given orders to wait till the morning.

The zero puppet decided to do that even if there was nothing.

Blue Drop Hotel

I was watching the live news on the big screen. There were no major crimes reported in the city.

In fact, most of the news was related to business. It appeared everyday news events were taking place.

Shortly afterwards,

Otto and Patrick returned to the room. They shared their collected information with me.

But they didn’t find any news. In fact, they found out that the city was organized and developed.

Even the remote areas were developed and clean.

I encouraged them. We would find something eventually. But Otto and Patrick were feeling helpless. They wanted to contribute more.

"I have explained it before. I’m not going to say it again. There is no need to involve yourselves deeply. The higher-ups of the Silver Tower will take care of it," I said to them.

Hearing that, Otto and Patrick sighed in relief. Though their Master had told them multiple times, they still felt useless. They wanted to contribute more.

A few minutes later,

Hank and old man Rock returned to the room. They shared a crazy experience that happened to them.

Hearing about the elders from the local forces, I raised my eyebrows in surprise. Then I heard that nothing much happened.

The Elders apologized and left. I looked toward old man Rock. I thought it must be related to old man Rock’s Magic Lord strength.

"Okay, guys. You did well. If there are no enemy activities in the city, then we will leave for the next city," I said to them.

Then I continued to discuss with them.

Later, I went back to my room and went to bed.

Looking at the ceiling, I began to think. I did not expect that I would take the mission as a vacation.

Not only that, but I’m doing well in the mission unknowingly. I don’t know what happened to the puppet formation.

Buzz!

Shortly afterwards,

My device buzzed. I took the device and saw Manager Lara was calling. Why would she phone me this late?

Next, I answered the call. I heard from her.

"Vincent, you did an amazing job again. The Puppet formation has revealed more information about the enemy force."

"Lord Charlotte wanted me to convey the message. The elders have decided to give rewards to you later," Lara said on the call.

Hearing that, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Now I can act with much more ease.
