The protagonist boards a ship and is shown around by Manager Robert, who then introduces a powerful Water Forbidden Wizard named Gary as the ship's guardian. Gary is wary of the masked protagonist, sensing his hidden strength. The ship departs, and the protagonist enjoys the sea air and mana. Later, some passengers notice the masked protagonist and are surprised by his concealed power. As night falls, the protagonist anticipates an attack from sea monsters, unaware that a massive octopus monster is lurking beneath the waves, waiting for an opportunity.

Montex Ship

As midnight arrived, I found myself remaining in the chamber, inexplicably choosing not to enter the Gregor Mansion. A premonition lingered, a sense that something significant was about to unfold. Standing, I made my way towards the door.

Outside, fierce waves churned; the sea was no longer tranquil. A glint appeared in my eyes.

[Ding! Sea monsters detected]

The system's voice echoed in my mind, stirring my anticipation. While I had considered this possibility, its swift approach caught me by surprise.

A decision formed. I knew of old man Gary's presence, a Forbidden Wizard, and surmised that others served under him.

Abruptly, a Forbidden Level mental power swept over me. The scan was instantaneous, drastically altering my expression. In the next moment, anger ignited within my chest. The old man's complete disregard for me was evident; I sensed something amiss with him, a clear indication that he wasn't taking me seriously.

Boom!

The following instant, a colossal wave erupted. From the water emerged the immense form of a monster, its size comparable to that of a shark sea monster. Though I had encountered depictions of sea monsters before, the reality of this creature was far more menacing. Its dark blue body possessed a steel-like resilience.

Only its head breached the surface, the rest of its body concealed beneath the waves.

Boom!

The deep blue shark unleashed a torrent of water arrows from its monstrous maw, striking the ship with blinding speed. A flicker of seriousness crossed my features. I quickly utilized the system to ascertain the monster's rank.

The system's analysis confirmed the deep blue sea monster was an 11th-Order entity. Over a thousand arrows rained down. Before they could reach the ship, however, a formidable pressure emanated from old man Gary. He directed his coercion towards the incoming projectiles.

Boom!

In a swift instant, the coercion obliterated the water arrows. The force did not dissipate; it surged forward, impacting the sea monster directly. The 11th-Order sea monster was torn asunder, exploding into bloody fragments. The ocean's surface became a canvas of red, with detached body parts scattering widely.

Gradually, the bloody remnants dissolved into the sea.

All this transpired within mere minutes. My lack of surprise was rooted in my certainty that the old man would not remain idle. Yet, a sense of unease persisted, suggesting the night was far from over and more sea monsters might surface.

Time marched onward.

Boom!

Soon enough, additional sea monsters began to appear, their forms discernible amidst the turbulent waters. Their numbers steadily increased, surpassing a hundred. I initiated another system scan. Their power levels ranged between the 10th and 11th Orders. Witnessing this, I resolved to intervene.

Old man Gary might not summon me, but I had to contribute. Gathering my thoughts, I stepped outside.

I observed other wizards stationed outside, their power varying from Supreme Wizard to Level-9. The Level-9 wizards seemed capable of little against this threat. I moved towards the edge, observing the heads of sea monsters emerging from the ocean. Hesitation flickered as I considered whether to join the fray.

All were awaiting orders.

"Dear Guest, we request your aid in repelling the sea monsters," a venerable voice echoed from the ship's upper deck.

At this appeal, all eyes turned upwards. Following their gaze, I saw old man Gary standing aloft. His attention was fixed on a distant point.

My eyebrows rose in surprise. Despite our immediate encirclement by sea monsters, the old man's focus lay elsewhere. I followed his line of sight, discerning a colossal form lurking behind the other beasts. A tempest brewed within me; I had never encountered a creature of such magnitude. Its sheer size appeared to dwarf the entire ship.

Boom!

The wizards on deck sprang into action, unleashing their magical assaults. One after another, intricate magic circles materialized in the sky, rapidly blanketing the area above the ship.

In the next moment, elemental energies erupted from these formations.

Boom!

With a thunderous roar, the attacks launched from the magic circles, striking the sea monsters with swift and devastating force.

Boom!

The shark monsters were pulverized, their bodies disintegrating in rapid succession. I remained disengaged, continuing my vigil over the sea. It seemed improbable that the monsters would expose themselves so readily to attack, unless they were acting under the direction of a more powerful entity.

[Ding! A 12th-Order Octopus is approaching the ship rapidly.]

The system's notification sounded in my mind. Tilting my head, I scanned the source, spotting movement beneath the water to the east. My expression grew grim. I glanced back at old man Gary, whose own countenance was equally grave. Another formidable monster lurked behind the initial wave of sharks. We now faced assaults from multiple directions with only a single Forbidden Wizard. The thought of continuing this journey felt increasingly perilous.

The others remained occupied with the current onslaught, oblivious to the 12th-Order Monster advancing beneath them.

Had it materialized beyond the confines of the water, the sheer pressure would have inflicted harm upon everyone present. Boom! A colossal tentacle erupted from the depths. This appendage stretched over a hundred feet, and its impact upon the ship would have been catastrophic. My mind raced. Monsters of the 12th-Order are comparable to Forbidden Wizards. If absolutely necessary, I resolved to employ a spell. Gasp! The other wizards collectively inhaled in astonishment, rooted to the spot, too terrified to move. Every soul aboard comprehended that this was no common monster. Boom! Suddenly, arcane inscriptions flared to life. A cerulean barrier enveloped the entire vessel. Witnessing this, I felt a wave of relief wash over me, having momentarily overlooked the vessel's integrated modern magical technology. Boom! The monstrous tentacle descended upon the glowing blue field. Instantly, a deafening roar echoed as the appendage failed to breach the protective layer. The defensive matrix held firm against the onslaught. The wizards collectively exhaled in relief. It was hardly surprising that the Montex Shipping Company would possess such protective measures. Their anxieties were now thoroughly allayed.
