Blue Falls City

Boom!

A repelling force obliterated the magic flames, leaving no trace. In the following instant, our appearances became visible to all observers.

Gasps echoed through the crowd. The Guardian Wizards were stunned, witnessing Master Sam Patrick, the driver, and the guest in the flesh.

They had previously assumed the trio were either severely injured or deceased. Now, they were confronted with a shocking reality. It was evident that the masked guest had intervened.

Rumors spoke of him being a formidable Magic Lord, credited with saving Master Sam Patrick by dispatching an Elder from a killer organization.

This revelation solidified their belief.

Simultaneously, I retreated with the two unconscious individuals. Members of the Patrick Family Wizards were present.

The wizards, startled, subsequently revived the pair. Sam Patrick regained his senses, followed by the driver. Both were visibly shaken.

"What precisely occurred here?" Sam Patrick inquired.

"We were ambushed. You should return to your estate immediately," I advised Sam.

Sam's expression shifted dramatically upon hearing this. He nodded in agreement and, along with his driver, entered a separate vehicle.

Swoosh!

I remained until their car had departed from the scene. Ten minutes elapsed, and no one attempted to impede their exit. Only then did I turn to face the ongoing conflict.

The battle still raged. Gratitude was owed to the two Magic Lords for buying us time by engaging the enemy Magic Lord.

The sky reverberated from their clash, the shockwaves impacting everyone present. If my assessment was correct, the fight would soon conclude.

By now, the authorities must have been alerted to the commotion. I stood my ground, continuing to observe the confrontation alongside the guards.

Onlookers nearby had already fled. The destructive force of the battle had obliterated their vehicles. Remaining any longer would have exposed them to fatal coercion from the Magic Lords.

The wizards behind me trembled, uncertain when the battle would cease. Fortunately, the combatants were engaged high in the sky.

Vibrant magic circles adorned the heavens. However, even a fraction of the power unleashed from such spell attacks, if it were to strike the ground, could devastate the land.

My gaze remained fixed on the sky. Before long, the cacophony ceased. Several figures materialized overhead – the authorities had arrived.

A collective sigh of relief escaped the wizards behind me. Then, I observed a figure evading the authorities. It was none other than the enemy Magic Lord.

Upon witnessing this, the authorities gave chase, with one of the Magic Lords joining the pursuit. The other, however, was returning. In mere moments, he stood before me.

His shock at seeing me was quickly followed by a sigh of relief. He recognized that he had narrowly escaped death. Had anything befallen the Master or the Lord, their own heads would have surely been forfeit.

"Where is the Master?" he asked.

"He has already reached the estate. Let's proceed," I replied.

He nodded in understanding. The accompanying wizards re-entered their vehicles. The Magic Lord and I shared one of the cars.

Shortly thereafter, the vehicle departed the location, heading towards the Patrick Estate. The Magic Lord remained silent throughout the journey.

He sought confirmation of Sam Patrick's safety to truly feel at ease. Meanwhile, I noticed a subtle shift in the wizards' demeanor; their gazes now held a newfound respect.

A subtle smile touched my lips, though it remained unseen by them.

Twenty minutes later,

The car arrived at the Patrick Estate. One by one, the airborne vehicles entered the grounds, descending onto the courtyard.

As our car halted, we disembarked. The guards followed suit. Before I could approach the main mansion, I saw a group of individuals approaching us.

They were none other than Sam Patrick and his family: Family Head Tom Patrick and his wife, followed by Sam Patrick and his own wife.

"Thank you for safeguarding my son. I had not anticipated the killer organization making a move within the city; their actions have clearly contravened our laws. The government will undoubtedly take action now," Tom Patrick stated.

"There's no need for thanks. Sam Patrick is a good individual; he assisted me with the ticket, which necessitated my intervention," I responded.

Sam Patrick beamed at this. He hadn't fully grasped the events until this moment, now understanding that the masked benefactor had been the one to knock him unconscious.

"Regardless, you have rescued my son on two separate occasions. As a token of our gratitude, you are granted access to our treasury to select one item of your desire," he added.

Gasps rippled through the onlookers. This was an immense offer, considering the treasury held the accumulated wealth of the wizard family over generations. Access was highly restricted.

Even for family members, significant contributions were required to earn the recognition of the elders and the family head.

Sam Patrick and his wife expressed their happiness, making no objection.

"Lord, please do not hesitate. You have saved my life. Had it not been for you, those magic flames would have certainly claimed me," Sam declared solemnly.

"Very well," I assented.

"Excellent. Sam, escort the Lord to the treasury. I shall confer with the elder there," he instructed his son.

His son acknowledged with a nod before turning his attention to me.

I returned the nod and he began to follow. The guards were taken aback, yet no sign of envy was apparent among them.

This was due to their witnessing the Magic Lord's power firsthand. He had rescued himself and others without sustaining any injuries. It served as a clear demonstration of the Masked Lord's might.

Meanwhile, I commenced my walk, the surrounding murmurs reaching my ears. They had bestowed upon me the moniker 'Masked Lord'.

What could I say? With my departure imminent in two days, I resolved to dismiss extraneous thoughts.

I stepped inside the mansion, and he guided me down a hallway. Subsequently, he revealed a hidden door concealed within the wall.

Astonishment washed over me. I ought to have utilized the system sooner. Following him, I passed through the opening.
