Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1916: Unexpected surprise
Previously on Gravity Mage with Level-Up System...
The next day dawned, and the swift raven aircraft soared through the skies without a hitch. The journey remained untroubled by adverse climate or difficult terrain.
I found myself seated by the window, observing the vast, clear sky and the expanse of the ground below. Should this favorable situation persist, reaching the edge of the continent might happen sooner than anticipated.
Once we traversed the great seas to reach the far side of the landmass, the ultimate destination would be within reach.
Ahead, a colossal airship bearing the emblem of a golden lion sailed forward. Decked out in pristine white and gold uniforms, Wizards could be seen patrolling its surface.
This magnificent airship belonged to one of the esteemed armies of the Golden Lion Royal Family, returning to their homeland after completing a period of rigorous training.
The vessel carried not only Supreme Wizards but also formidable Magic Lords and even legendary Forbidden Wizards.
It wasn't long before the raven aircraft and the royal airship drew considerably closer to each other.
Suddenly, two powerful Forbidden Wizards aboard the airship detected an anomaly ahead. Their sharp senses revealed a stealth-mode flying vehicle moving stealthily.
They had encountered such advanced flying vehicles before, but they were invariably exorbitantly priced. A wave of sudden avarice washed over the two Forbidden Wizards.
After all, what could be more satisfying than acquiring something for absolutely nothing? With a shared thought, they unleashed their mental power.
Their formidable spiritual energy enveloped the detected flying vehicle, extending far and wide.
On the other hand, a cascade of urgent warnings flooded my senses from the system. Instantly, I grasped the gravity of the peril I was facing.
Swoosh!
In a moment of decisive thought, both the raven aircraft and I materialized within the sanctuary of the system space, vanishing from the external world.
The two Forbidden Wizards, bewildered, found their target had inexplicably vanished. They swiftly departed the airship, appearing at the exact coordinates the next instant.
These two venerable Forbidden Wizards were aged men, their hair a striking blend of gold and white. They were clad in opulent royal attire, signifying their connection to the royal family.
"What in the blazes is going on here?"
"The aircraft… it simply disappeared," one of the old men, possessing a slightly rotund physique, inquired.
The other, a lean elder, continued to meticulously scan the sky, yet the aircraft remained absent from his sight.
"Could we have encountered a Forbidden Wizard?" he queried.
The somewhat stout man shook his head resolutely. "Nay, if a Magic Lord or a Forbidden Wizard were lurking, we would have sensed their presence long before now."
Upon hearing this, the lanky elder nodded his assent. Consequently, both men commenced a thorough search for the elusive aircraft.
Their actions immediately drew the attention of the Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords assembled on the deck.
The two Forbidden Wizards then resolved to enlist the assistance of the Wizards present.
Swoosh!
One by one, Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords disembarked from the deck. In the blink of an eye, twenty Supreme Wizards joined the search for the missing aircraft.
Alongside them, ten Magic Lords scoured the ground below, their efforts focused on finding the quarry.
Meanwhile,
Within the opulent confines of the Gregor Mansion, I stood before the control mirror. The reflections within revealed the unfolding events transpiring outside.
I recognized their distinctive insignias. The appearance of Royal Family members here was entirely unexpected. Thankfully, my successful evasion had occurred just moments prior.
Had I been delayed, those two formidable Forbidden Wizards would surely have apprehended me. With the system's invaluable aid, I ascertained the might of those searching.
The presence of Forbidden Wizards, Magic Lords, and Supreme Wizards suggested they were part of a significant organization.
They certainly did not appear to hail from Border City or the famed Gold Keep City.
Time continued to elapse.
I patiently awaited their departure, but my expectation proved incorrect. The wizards showed no signs of leaving. A slight frown creased my brow. It seemed I had inadvertently drawn their considerable interest.
They would not depart until they were absolutely certain. I surmised that it might take at least another full day for them to finally abandon their search.
Outside,
The two forbidden wizards exchanged perplexed glances. Despite employing their potent spells, they detected no lingering traces or anomalies in the surroundings.
The aircraft had vanished into thin air, leaving no discernible evidence.
Had the pilot resorted to a magical concealment spell, residual traces would have manifested in the sky. Yet, the heavens remained unmarked by any such magic.
They remained silent, contemplative. However, the Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords continued their persistent search for the aircraft, their efforts unwavering.
Upon the passing of another day,
Exhausted from their fruitless endeavor, the two Forbidden Wizards made the difficult decision to cease the search and return to their country. Their mission was already behind schedule.
Should their superiors discover the reason for the delay, they would undoubtedly face severe repercussions. They conveyed their decision to the others, and it did not take long for everyone to re-embark on the deck.
Swoosh!
The airship eventually departed the location twenty minutes later, accelerating its speed as it set a course towards the border city.
Fifteen minutes thereafter,
I resolved to reappear in the outside world. However, a sudden hesitation gripped me at the very last moment. For reasons unknown, a profound intuition suggested that waiting a few more precious minutes would be prudent.
Shortly thereafter,
The two Forbidden Wizards reappeared at the very same location. Witnessing their return, a knowing glint sparkled in my eyes.
My instincts had proven correct, even guiding me when the system's detection capabilities had faltered. They had returned for one final, meticulous sweep.
The two Forbidden Wizards standing outside conducted their search once more. However, their efforts yielded nothing. They exchanged uncertain glances before confirming the situation.
Not a single sign of the aircraft could be found. The two Forbidden Wizards vanished from the area the very next moment.
A deep sigh of relief escaped me.
WHOOSH!
Suddenly, I was outside. I had brought the raven aircraft into the open air. Climbing into the cockpit, I immediately began piloting the machine.
The aircraft ascended into the heavens. In a flash, it reached its maximum velocity, rapidly departing the vicinity.
I was acutely aware of the formidable power wielded by Magic Lords and Forbidden Wizards. There was a distinct possibility they might return to investigate. Thus, I activated the stealth mode.
While effective, this stealth mode risked drawing the scrutiny of those at the Supreme Wizard level and higher.
The afternoon sun began to wane.
A novel landscape emerged before my eyes. This new territory was a vast swampland, bathed in the bright daylight shining from a clear sky.
The swamp extended limitlessly, its depths unknown. A captivating glint appeared in my eyes upon observing this scene.
Truly another wondrous domain. I couldn't help but wonder what secrets lay concealed within that place.
