Mountain Range

My journey continued without any pauses.

Suddenly, my steps halted. I landed upon a branch of a colossal shade tree. It seemed appropriate now to confront Young Master Raymond.

It was time to make him understand. I scanned the vicinity, confirming the absence of any immediate threats.

Swoosh!

I materialized within the Gregor Mansion. My mind raced, contemplating how to handle Wizard Raymond without revealing my gravity magic.

This world harbored many exceptional wizards, and I had no desire for enemies to track me, especially with a vital mission on my hands.

My objective was to reach the Opal Magic Rainforest as swiftly as possible, unaware of the perils lurking within its depths.

It seemed prudent to avoid wasting any more time lingering outside.

Upon gaining a clearer perspective, I resolved to utilize the Magic Lord Skeleton's remains if the situation demanded.

Yet, an alternative strategy offered a guaranteed deterrent. If I were to present the Mage Union badge, I was confident he would cease any ill-conceived notions.

Even if his family were to learn of this, I doubted they would pursue retribution. And should the Raymond Family attempt revenge, I was already prepared.

A flicker of killing intent ignited in my eyes.

Should he fail to show due respect to the Mage Union badge, the Magic Lord skeleton would be employed.

That skeletal remains were no common artifact. Even if Magic Lord Raymond stood as the pinnacle among his peers, he would be subjugated by the skeleton.

The skeleton hailed from an ancient, powerful being, despite its childlike form. My thoughts then drifted to the location where I had acquired it.

I had retrieved the magic lord skeleton from a secluded area within perilous ground crevices.

I sincerely hoped the second plan would not be necessary.

In the subsequent moment, I donned my mask and instructed the system to cloak my presence, thereby preventing the enemy from discerning my capabilities.

Swoosh!

The next instant, I found myself within a blue grid.

A white-haired, middle-aged man was seated at the center of the blue grid. Abruptly, his eyes snapped open.

He observed a masked figure approaching him. Upon attempting to probe, his senses were repelled, leaving him ignorant of the individual's true strength.

He, a formidable Magic Lord, found himself unable to penetrate the masked visitor's defenses, his expression growing grim.

His assessment was correct; he surmised the masked individual was a Forbidden Wizard and thus refrained from initiating a spell-based assault, recognizing his predicament.

He understood that provoking this person could lead to his demise right there.

"Who are you?"

"What is it you desire?" Raymond inquired.

He sought to identify the power orchestrating this. If neighboring nations were involved, he vowed a tenfold repayment.

A fervent glint ignited in his eyes.

"I went to considerable trouble to apprehend you, all to rescue someone," I conveyed to him.

Raymond appeared dumbfounded by this revelation, having anticipated a different response.

"Decades ago, a member of my family was aided by the tribal inhabitants residing at the mountain's base. I had recently the opportunity to visit that area."

"However, all I encountered was devastation and ruin." I paused after delivering this news.

Thunderclap!

Raymond felt as though a thunderous clap had struck his mind. Of all the possibilities he considered, the mountain range had never crossed his thoughts.

He had not foreseen such a catastrophic outcome for his family's mission.

Raymond's gaze turned icy.

"You possess no understanding of my family's standing," Raymond menacingly declared.

"Ha... Ha... Ha..." I responded with hearty laughter.

Raymond seemed taken aback, unable to comprehend the masked individual's apparent indifference.

"I am aware of your nation's Elder-Level Wizard Families. Yet, I hold no fear of your country, nor of any other significant global powers," I stated.

Raymond's heart skipped a beat; disbelief etched on his face.

"Are you merely posturing?" he stammered.

"My intentions are genuine." With that, I revealed the Mage Union badge, emblazoned with towering pillars.

Raymond's eyes fixed upon the insignia. The sight of the grand pillars caused him to instantly crumple to the floor, his legs giving way.

Terror filled his eyes, his entire body trembling. He was not foolish; he understood the global power dynamics.

As a member of an Elder-Level Wizard Family, he was well-acquainted with the Mage Union, the undisputed overlords. He never imagined encountering a representative from their ranks.

Sightings of individuals from that organization venturing out were exceedingly rare. Now, he grasped the reason for his effortless abduction; only an entity of such magnitude could accomplish it.

His earlier indignation vanished, replaced by the understanding that no aid was forthcoming. Even his own family could offer no protection. If this individual intended his demise, he would undoubtedly meet it.

But why the abduction? He mused that there must be a specific purpose.

"What is it you require of me?" he asked.

"Good. I want you to heal those who were poisoned by your dark magic. I don't have time. Otherwise, I would have gone back to my place," I declared to him.

Upon hearing this, understanding flashed in Raymond's eyes.

"No wonder," he murmured.

Raymond was not foolish enough to provoke this individual.

"I will assist. However, I request that you spare my life," he pleaded.

After a brief pause, I consented, saying, "I can do that. I merely hope your family will not set their sights upon this mountain range."

Raymond gave a solemn nod.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, I materialized outside, continuing my trek.

It did not take long for me to arrive at the stone dwelling. A collection of stone house structures came into view.

At this sight, a spark ignited in my gaze. I was uncertain if old man Barry was present, but I was confident he would not abandon his descendants.

I felt certain he must be anticipating my arrival here.

Upon returning to the very same stone house, I observed old man Barry standing just outside. The sight of the little girl lying on the bed was visible to me.

A subtle wave of relief washed over my features. My endeavors had not been in vain.
