Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1895: Meeting the gang

Great Capital
Several minutes had passed since the sizable vehicle departed from the company premises. It was now making its way towards the border, and my curiosity compelled me to examine the less secure route ahead.
Mafia syndicates were known to target individuals, often those without protection. However, I doubted they would dare to prey on a transport carrying goods.
The man with black hair, whose name was Matt, had been quiet earlier. Now, however, he initiated a conversation, seeking information about the masked individual.
Noticing this, I decided to join the discussion as well. Matt harbored no malicious intent; he simply assumed the masked man was a visitor from another land.
Our pleasant exchange continued for a short while before Matt began offering some counsel.
"Criminal elements are quite active along this less-traveled path. Should anyone question you, it would be best to state that you are also a company employee."
"That way, they'll likely leave you alone," Matt added.
Upon hearing this, I readily agreed, as wasting time was not an option. My priority was reaching the border and locating a person named Raymond.
Only he possessed the means to save the young girl. Yet, a distinct feeling persisted within me – I had undertaken a significant task, and success would not come easily.
Two hours later,
The aerial vehicle hummed as it traversed the core of the major city. The towering structures, elaborate infrastructure, and sharp spires gradually receded from view.
The further our journey progressed, the fewer buildings became visible, signaling our near departure from the city's primary expanse.
Now, we were entering a more perilous route. The airspace was no longer bustling with activity; fewer craft occupied it.
Government surveillance vehicles were absent from this sector. A powerful gust of wind began to buffet the vehicle.
Observing this, I understood the rationale behind selecting a large vehicle. Yet, I couldn't detect any environmental shifts.
The mana remained dense and pure, with only a slight increase in the concentration of earth-aligned mana.
"System, what is occurring?" I inquired internally.
[Ding! The host has entered a special location.]
[Ding! Traces of an ancient earth magic spell have been detected.]
The system's voice resonated in my mind, stirring a whirlwind of thoughts. It explained the unusual nature of this place. The area wasn't truly desolate but was instead brimming with potent earth elemental magic.
Matt had been observing the masked man's reaction, recognizing the awe such places often inspired. He knew the feeling well, as many newcomers were taken aback by the sheer wonder of it.
He remarked, "This is a unique location. In ages past, an individual utilized this area for meditation. Upon the Ancient Wizard's departure, the place retained its special quality."
Hearing this, I felt no surprise. Only an Ancient Wizard could leave behind such marvels.
"You must also be cautious of another matter. The criminals inhabiting this region are not to be underestimated; they are potent earth elemental wizards," he cautioned.
"I will certainly keep that in mind," I responded.
He resumed piloting the vehicle, and before long, the path ahead narrowed considerably. No other vehicles were visible behind or ahead of us.
We were the sole craft navigating the airway. This solitary situation was quite startling. I surveyed the surroundings through the window.
Buildings were no longer present. Instead, vast, empty expanses of land stretched out on either side of the pathway. This sight filled me with astonishment. It was no wonder this place was considered unsafe.
There was no one around. Who could possibly offer protection to travelers? The government seemed to be sanctioning the endeavors of the wizard families.
Could it be that the members of these families were also integrated into the government? A sudden chill ran down my spine at this thought.
I took a moment to calm myself. With each mile traveled within this city, I uncovered more of its hidden truths.
Abruptly, Matt decelerated the vehicle.
Ahead, he spotted two armored black flying cars, commonly utilized by certain criminal syndicates.
Simultaneously, I noticed the same sight. A glint appeared in my eyes as I activated the system to scan.
[Ding! Six Supreme Wizards detected.]
[Ding! They exhibit hostile and avaricious intentions.]
The system's voice echoed in my mind. I turned my gaze towards Matt, who was visibly sweating.
"What is happening?" I inquired.
"They are not the group we typically pay a toll to," Matt stammered, his voice trembling.
Hearing this, my expression turned grim. Could it be that we were currently facing grave danger?
Creak!
The doors swung open, and four wizards emerged from the cars. They were clad in brown magical robes, their faces and heads covered, leaving only their eyes and noses visible.
Matt, himself a Supreme Wizard, was now in a state of panic.
"Let's turn back. I am not proceeding further." With that, he attempted to maneuver the vehicle in reverse.
Witnessing this, I was momentarily stunned.
"Wait," I commanded.
However, he seemed not to hear me. In the next instant, I made a decisive move. The door flew open, and I darted outside.
I hovered in mid-air. Matt did not stop; he accelerated away at full speed. The four wizards shifted their attention towards me. Two more individuals remained within the driver's seats of the vehicles.
"Greetings, could any of you perhaps provide me passage to the border?" I inquired.
"Ha... Ha... Ha..." one of them erupted in immediate laughter.
The other three, however, remained silent. They had attempted to gauge the masked man's strength but had failed, leaving them in a state of shock.
They were unable to comprehend the situation, fearing they had encountered a Magic Lord. "Yes, you may accompany us," one of them stated. Upon hearing this, the initial person's laughter ceased. He remained oblivious to the unfolding events until a whisper reached his ear. Only then did his face betray signs of panic. "Alright," I responded. Subsequently, I departed with them. The other two individuals in the driver's seats were bewildered, but soon they too grasped that the masked figure was a Magic Lord. Swoosh! The engines of the two armored vehicles roared to life. With a surge of sound, they pivoted and accelerated forward. The criminals confined within the car were models of decorum. Their previous boisterousness vanished, replaced by anxiety that the person before them might unleash a magic spell to end their lives. Even Supreme Wizards are no match for a Magic Lord, hence their extreme caution at this moment. Conversely, I perceived their true capabilities. They were undeniably potent, and moreover, they wielded earth magic.
