Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1893 1893: Dangerous Map!

The Five Magic Lords had been observing the shop. Having witnessed the masked man's entry earlier, they positioned their vehicles behind the establishment.
After a brief period of waiting, a collective sigh of relief was exhaled by the Lords as they saw their intended quarry exiting the shop. Their prior concern was that he might have had companions, but this worry dissipated upon seeing him alone.
As the masked individual departed, it became evident he was unaccompanied.
The man with the scarred face emitted a sneer. His initial apprehension about the target having friends was now replaced with certainty that he had made the correct decision by proceeding.
He then surveyed his associates, noting their shared focus on the unfolding scene. All of them remained stationary, observing until the masked man departed the vicinity in a separate vehicle.
Swoosh!
Before the scar-faced man could react, four cars abruptly soared past him, in hot pursuit of the masked man's taxi.
Stunned by this unexpected display, he delayed his pursuit, his gaze instead drawn to the shop. He became curious about the masked man's activities within.
Buzz!
He guided his vehicle towards the shop. Upon arrival, he disembarked and approached the entrance.
Once inside, he was greeted by the same female staff member who had attended to the masked man previously.
"Guest, how may I assist you?" she inquired.
"Did you see the masked man earlier?" he pressed.
The woman appeared startled by the question, sensing a subtle pressure emanating from the man. Though unintentional, she recognized the presence of a potent wizard. She gave a slight nod.
"Inform me of what transpired here," the scar-faced man commanded.
"He is traveling to Nyx Land. It appears he intends to become a follower of Young Master Raymond," she relayed.
"A follower?" The scar-faced man seemed taken aback.
His expression shifted dramatically. He had not anticipated the masked man to be another fervent admirer of Young Master Raymond. A flicker of fear surfaced in his eyes.
He was unaware of the masked man's capabilities, but the path to becoming a follower was notoriously perilous, claiming many lives. Those who succeeded had endured numerous life-threatening trials.
"No. I must apprehend this individual," the scar-faced wizard declared. "Which route did you provide him?"
The female staff member supplied him with an identical map. He accepted it and examined it, his shock evident in the following second.
The route was not the most secure; rather, it was fraught with risk. Criminal activity was rampant once outside the capital's protective influence. This path led directly into the outer territories, perilously close to the border.
The outer region was currently a dangerous zone, potentially harboring brigands possessing the might of a Magic Lord. He then regarded the woman with bewilderment.
The shop was affiliated with the Raymond Family. This could potentially be part of their intricate scheme, and he had no desire to probe further into their affairs.
Reflecting on the masked man's objective, his countenance grew grave. The masked man's goal seemed practically unattainable.
He considered it improbable; individuals lacking dark mana were destined to perish. Nonetheless, someone was determined to reach the destination. It was conceivable the masked man wielded dark magic.
He dismissed the thought and resolved to apprehend the masked man before the situation escalated further. He then departed the shop.
Swoosh!
Once he was gone, the female staff member exhaled a breath of relief, her back damp with perspiration.
Meanwhile, the other four Magic Lords were in pursuit of the taxi. They remained unaware of the masked man's ultimate destination.
It did not take long for them to notice one of their number was missing: the scar-faced man.
The lean wizard and the brown-haired wizard also registered his absence. However, they felt it inconsequential, as their primary objective was to capture the masked man themselves.
Their camaraderie was tenuous at best. The brown-haired wizard resolved to secure the target upon arrival, without assistance.
He harbored no intention of seeking aid from the others. The lean wizard had similarly severed ties.
Only two unsuspecting companions trailed behind them.
Time elapsed.
The taxi driver adhered to his designated route. Numerous paths led to the border, and he was navigating the most secure one.
Concurrently, I observed the passing scenery, periodically glancing behind me. Familiar vehicles came into view, following.
To confirm my suspicions, I activated the system probe function once more. The results were affirmative: those four vehicles were indeed tailing me.
A glint of icy resolve appeared in my eyes. However, immediate action was inadvisable. I allowed them to continue their pursuit.
After a while, I detected the driver deviating from the provided map. I presented the map and questioned him. The elderly driver appeared surprised and also consulted the map.
He discovered the map indicated a hazardous route to the border. He surmised that the customer had been deceived.
"Guest, you have been misled. Although it is the most direct route to the border, it is fraught with peril. It traverses the outer region where criminal elements congregate," the old man explained. My jaw dropped upon hearing that. The female staff member's intricate plan completely caught me off guard. Nevertheless, I wasn't completely taken aback; I had already steeled myself for any potential trial. My main concern was avoiding any direct confrontations with Forbidden Wizards or powerhouses at the Elder level, and as long as that held true, I figured I'd be alright. I instructed the driver to stick to the secure path. He retrieved the map, a visible sigh of relief escaping him, and then continued their journey. Elsewhere, The wizard bearing a facial scar was also making his way to the same location. However, his chosen path led directly through the hazardous zones. He hadn't entertained the slightest possibility that the masked individual would alter their course, thus proceeding along the perilous route. As a Magic Lord himself, he harbored no concerns about any other Magic Lord being a genuine threat. He certainly held no belief that any Forbidden Wizards would be lingering in the outer regions.
