Crystal City-Office
Elder Blake and his colleagues were deep in discussion when suddenly word arrived that representatives from the Green Elemental Tower were heading their way.
Elder Blake froze in shock. The other officials paled in surprise. Everyone knew about the bitter feud between the Green Elemental Tower and Wizard Vincent. Fears arose that violence might break out.
"Where are they?" Elder Blake demanded.
"Elder, they’re approaching now," the official responded.
Upon hearing this, a chill sweat broke out on Blake’s forehead. He realized confrontation was inevitable. Rising from his chair, he prepared to act.
Gazing at the official, he instructed, "Notify Wizard Vincent of their approach immediately. They’re surely targeting him."
The official acknowledged with a nod and departed. Afterward, Elder Blake led the remaining officials out to welcome the Green Elemental Tower’s Magic Lord and his entourage.
Meanwhile,
An elderly figure clad in Green Elemental Tower uniform and mage robes had just arrived, flanked by two middle-aged Supreme Wizards.
This elder went by the name Clint, with Wade and Cody as his Supreme Wizard companions. A flicker of scorn gleamed in Clint’s eyes.
He held the Silver Tower in contempt, yet higher orders compelled his visit. Soon, they reached the administration office.
Clint spotted wizards assembled to receive them—the officials. A sneer curled his lips. Wade and Cody flashed broad, smug smiles.
"Elder Clint, Crystal City extends its welcome to you and the Green Elemental Tower wizards," Elder Blake declared with a forced smile.
"Spare us the pleasantries. Lead us to Wizard Vincent. We’ve heard of his new venture and came to offer congratulations," Clint retorted in a haughty voice, blatantly disrespecting the local wizards.
Elder Blake and the officials’ expressions darkened sharply. As a fellow Magic Lord, Blake confirmed his suspicions—these visitors harbored ill intentions.
Thankfully, he’d already dispatched a messenger to warn Wizard Vincent.
"Very well, follow me," Blake agreed.
…
The Shop
I lingered in the gallery room when the official arrived with the urgent update. Surprise hit me; Elder Blake was truly coming through for me. I thanked him via the official and vowed to repay the kindness.
Once the official departed, I called the team together. They all gathered in the office.
"A Magic Lord from the Green Elemental Tower is en route. He may attempt to rile you up, so stay vigilant. I’ll prevent any disaster," I warned them.
The members nodded in agreement.
"Master, should we shut down the shop?" Otto inquired.
"No need. Carry on normally," I directed.
They dispersed. Reclining in my seat, I awaited the arrivals. Trouble was bound to unfold today.
It wasn’t long before Elder Blake escorted the group inside. Magic Lord Clint’s gaze locked on the lengthy line of customers, envy sparking in his eyes. He recognized the shop’s roaring success and massive profits.
Should this thrive unchecked, the Silver Tower’s power would surge further. Malice brewed in Clint’s heart.
His trailing Supreme Wizards, Wade and Cody, seethed with jealousy too. They approached the main entrance.
Entering the premises, Elder Blake strode alongside them. The staff spotted the visitors and moved to salute Elder Blake.
"Elder, great to see you back," Hank greeted.
"Mr. Hank, guide us to Wizard Vincent," Blake requested gravely.
Hank complied, leading them toward the gallery office. A presence was felt within. Magic Lord Clint grew focused.
The pair of Supreme Wizards shed their arrogance. They were about to encounter the Silver Tower’s promising star.
Hank pushed open the door and announced, "Master, visitors for you."
"Fine, bring them in," I answered.
Hank stepped out and relayed the permission. Elder Blake ushered Magic Lord Clint and the rest inside. Clint bristled with irritation.
"We require a private audience with Wizard Vincent," he insisted.
"I can’t permit that. Given the Green Elemental Tower’s grudge against Wizard Vincent, I must ensure his protection," Blake countered.
Anger flared in Clint. He aimed to bait Wizard Vincent, but Elder Blake blocked his path. Taking a steadying breath, he added, "I won’t harm him. You can stand guard outside."
Blake glanced my way at those words. I gave a subtle nod. With that, Blake and his officials exited.
"Elder, have a seat please," I offered them.
Clint steadied himself. He gestured to Wade and Cody, who took chairs across from me. At first, Clint faltered for words.
His mission was to goad Vincent Carey into rashness. Once provoked into striking a Magic Lord, Clint could strike back.
"Never thought you’d resurface so quickly. You skulked away like a coward before," Clint taunted with a wicked grin, his malice plain. The Supreme Wizards chuckled behind him.
I instantly grasped their scheme. They craved my outburst, but I stayed composed and silent.
Clint’s fury mounted at my calm. He pressed on, hurling insults and degradations at Vincent Carey.
Outside, Elder Blake and the others observed.
They noted Elder Clint speaking to Wizard Vincent, yet Vincent offered no reply. Uncertainty lingered if talks proceeded smoothly.
Just then, old man Rock entered the gallery area. Spotting Elder Blake and company,
he saw all eyes fixed on the office door, but zeroed in on Otto. Only Otto could eavesdrop past barriers. Otto’s grim expression told the tale.
Old man Rock sensed trouble brewing within—the visiting Elder was stirring strife.
Patrick and Hank noticed too, yet held back from inquiring amid Elder Blake and the officials.
