Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1848: Contract with Infinite Wizard Association

Doyle Family
Higher-ups of the Doyle Family received the news too. Stunned by it, they swiftly reached out to their spies in Crystal City to check if it held any truth.
The spies quickly verified the report. Certain that it originated from several reliable sources, they alerted other families.
A urgent high-level gathering was called without delay.
Vincent Carey's position had shifted dramatically; direct assaults on him were no longer feasible. He now stood as a formal member of the Silver Tower.
He had aligned with the White Silver faction, renowned for fiercely safeguarding its members.
That faction boasted an elder-level powerhouse too. Should tensions rise that high, the Mage Union itself would intervene.
Thus, they needed to deliberate internally prior to any moves. Yet, the Doyle Wizard Family refused to let Vincent Carey off the hook or halt their pursuits against him.
Unable to strike openly in the city, they plotted covert operations.
With Vincent Carey back in the spotlight, they refused to let the moment slip. Missing this window to strike might mean he'd vanish once more.
…
Green Elemental Tower
Factions exist within the Green Elemental Magic Tower as well. One such group was buzzing about Vincent Carey, having incurred heavy losses at his hands.
Their wizards suffered defeat in a magic duel against Vincent Carey at the Magic Arena, losing face before the eyes of rival Magic Towers.
They pursued every avenue for payback against the humiliation. Even enlisting aid from Mage Union members failed to yield results.
Following that, Vincent Carey vanished, eluding their every attempt to track him.
His reemergence ignited their thirst for vengeance in the Green Elemental Tower.
They focused far more on Vincent Carey than on Appraiser Frank. Previously, they'd backed the Flame Elemental Tower covertly; now, they planned direct involvement.
…
Meanwhile
The report spread to powers in Magic City and nearby satellite cities. Shock rippled through everyone.
Who hasn't heard of Vincent Carey? The Silver Tower's celebrated wizard and darling of locals, particularly those who profited big from magic arena duels.
His disappearance had left them crestfallen.
Word of his comeback now sparked widespread joy. It circulated purely by word of mouth, with no media broadcasts yet.
Media journalists, dumbstruck, raced toward Crystal City. Reporters from satellite cities joined the rush as well.

Crystal City—Shop
I sat in the office when my first visitors arrived to meet me.
They turned out to be Wizard Association folks: Faction Leader Edmund Smith and Jonah. I kept my expression neutral. Hank escorted them inside.
Once in, Hank presented them to me then departed.
"Please, sit down," I said calmly. I'd subtly altered my voice.
Edmund and Jonah exchanged glances before taking seats across from me. A Magic Lord, Edmund still felt a touch of nerves. This marked his first encounter with the legendary wizard.
Jonah mirrored the sentiment; tales of me and duel arena footage had left him inwardly stunned.
I observed them. Noting their unease, I sighed to myself. Unaware I was the same individual, their responses varied so starkly.
"Cough," I cleared my throat to refocus them.
Edmund and Jonah snapped back, momentarily adrift.
Edmund grinned and remarked, "It’s nice to meet you, Wizard Vincent. I’ve heard a lot about you."
"Same here. I have watched your magic arena duels. You are really strong," Jonah added with a smile, aiming to diffuse the strain and brighten the mood.
"Oh, thanks for saying that. It’s nice to meet you guys as well. Appraiser Frank told me about you," I responded.
Edmund’s gaze sharpened briefly. He realized Appraiser Frank had filled me in, though Frank was absent today. I read their minds easily.
"I have sent Frank somewhere. So, you can tell me: what do you guys want?" I chuckled.
Edmund paused, glancing at Jonah, the usual spokesperson.
Jonah nodded then stated, "Wizard Vincent, we want to do business with you."
Seriousness flickered in my eyes. "I’m all ears," I answered.
"We will find clients for the appraisal service, but we will charge a commission fee. In exchange, we need free appraisal services for our Association," Jonah proposed.
"Free service?" I echoed. I nearly burst into laughter.
"I didn’t finish. You give us free service, and we will give you free intel, especially intel on our city and the surrounding cities," Jonah continued.
That piqued my interest. My members and zero puppet already gathered intel, but Wizard Association data on the city and environs would prove invaluable.
Any probe into my sources would lead straight to the Infinite Wizard Association.
Silence hung for minutes. Edmund Smith pondered the negotiation's end, yet hoped to seal a deal with Wizard Vincent.
This setup promised richer resources, and Appraiser Frank had demonstrated true expertise.
"Okay. Let’s discuss the commission fee," I told them.
Relief washed over Edmund. Jonah grinned too.
Jonah offered, "We are ready for a 40/60 split."
"30/70," I countered.
Jonah’s smile faded. He'd assumed Wizard Vincent would agree. Edmund, however, anticipated it.
They'd initiated the proposal from the start. He grasped why Wizard Vincent rejected a smaller share.
He conceded, "Alright, we agree. 30 to 70."
Jonah blinked in surprise but stayed silent. He sensed Leader Edmund's determination to clinch the deal no matter what.
