Magic Lord Scott has arrived at the Crystal City shop to forcibly seize a storage bracelet, prompting a fierce mid-air confrontation with Magic Lord Blake and old man Rock. As reports of the escalating conflict broadcast across the nation, tensions mount between the Flame Elemental Tower and the Silver Tower. While the shop owner remains composed under the protection of his allies, the attackers face mounting pressure to locate a elusive banned item before the situation spirals out of their control.

Crystal City Shop

Boom!

Magic Lord Scott was not holding anything back. Even while relying on brute strength, his movements were lethal and aimed for the kill.

Because of this, Elder Blake and Rock took the brunt of his assault. Since they were merely trying to restrain Scott rather than slay him, the situation turned dire.

Old man Rock, who was already struggling with existing wounds and relying purely on his remaining physical stamina, found himself in a fatal position.

He endured several heavy strikes to his torso. Despite his best efforts to parry them, some landed with crushing force.

Puchak!

As the conflict dragged on, the old man could no longer maintain his defense. He spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Are you alright?" Blake demanded, quickly sensing the severity of the old man’s injuries.

"Ha... Ha... Ha!" Scott erupted into laughter. "One down. Now, it is your turn," he declared, immediately turning his aggression toward Elder Blake.

Watching from the side, I saw old man Rock’s weakened state. "Old man Rock, get down! There is no point in continuing this fight!" I shouted.

Upon hearing my command, Rock nodded and dropped to the ground, looking bloodied. I motioned for the others to bring him inside.

Before they moved, I handed him a few healing potions. Edmund also chipped in with some restorative herbs, and I gave him a nod of gratitude.

Edmund wore a grave expression. With one ally already incapacitated, he realized the other might not hold out for long, and he sensed that his own turn to face the onslaught was approaching.

He could not allow Magic Lord Scott to lay a finger on Shop Owner Frank. Although Frank’s presence here was problematic, Edmund felt a deep obligation to ensure his safety.

A few moments later,

"Aaahhhh!"

A pained scream escaped Elder Blake. His scalp was covered in gore. Fighting Magic Lord Scott alone was proving to be an impossible task.

He was completely overwhelmed and suffered injuries in exchange. Given his advanced age, he was simply no match for the vastly superior physical prowess of Scott.

Puchak!

Blake coughed up more blood and collapsed to the earth. He was no longer fit for combat. He looked at me with an apologetic expression, clearly indicating his desperate need for healing herbs immediately.

Recognizing the urgency, I signaled for Otto to bring Blake inside. Before Otto could intervene, city officials reached the scene and moved him into the mansion.

I handed the remaining healing herbs to Otto to pass along to Elder Blake.

"How many of those herbs do you have left?" Edmund asked, his gaze locked firmly on Scott, who was hovering in the air.

"Not many," I replied, caught off guard by the leader’s sudden inquiry.

Swoosh! To my surprise, Edmund vanished and reappeared in the sky a heartbeat later, engaging Scott head-on.

"You intend to interfere as well?" Scott growled, his voice laced with irritation. He was anxious to raid their storage bracelets as quickly as possible.

If he delayed any longer, reinforcements from the Silver Tower might appear. He had been forced to retreat last time due to Manager Lara, and he was determined not to repeat that humiliation.

"I am a defender of Crystal City. We have no tolerance for troublemakers from the Flame Elemental Tower," Edmund stated coldly.

Scott let out a snort of derision.

Boom!

A savage brawl erupted between the two. They clashed repeatedly, using nothing but raw power.

On the ground, I wondered when help would arrive. I had received a message earlier from Manager Lara informing me she was en route and would be here shortly.

"Hank, come here," I called out.

Hank rushed to my side. I instructed him to head outside and procure as many healing herbs as he could find.

"Understood," Hank replied.

As Hank moved to depart, he was blocked by the wizards from the Flame Elemental Tower. Magic Lord Scott hadn’t come alone; he was flanked by a group of Supreme Wizards and Level-9 spellcasters.

My eyes hardened at the sight.

"You aren’t going anywhere. Our Lord intends to search your storage bracelets. No one is permitted to leave," a middle-aged Supreme Wizard declared.

Hank looked back at me. I frowned, desperately needing those herbs. My eyes scanned the vicinity until they landed on the local residents observing the chaos.

Seeing Rebecca Ethan in the crowd, I sighed with relief. I whispered to Hank to approach her and request assistance from her parents.

Hank nodded and moved toward her. Since he was still within the community boundaries, the Flame Elemental wizards allowed the maneuver, assuming I was merely trying to escape their blockade without realizing no one was in critical danger.

They figured the Magic Lords would recover within a few days; they were convinced I was just looking for a loophole, which they were determined to close.

As time elapsed,

Boom! Boom!

The thunderous echoes continued to shake the air. My eyebrows arched in surprise; I had severely underestimated Edmund’s capabilities.

I activated my System Probe to appraise both Edmund Smith and Magic Lord Scott. Their status panels materialized before my eyes.

Both were loaded with impressive stats. They possessed an extensive repertoire of spells and profound mastery of magical laws.

I inhaled deeply and dismissed the displays. If my assessment was correct, Magic Lord Scott was playing for keeps. They had likely deduced that one of our storage bracelets contained a prohibited item.

I had already moved the item into my System Space, but the other members were unaware of this. I hadn’t warned them because I feared the enemy might use a specialized wizard to track it. Nevertheless, I trusted the system—no one could perceive the contents of the System Space.

The Flame Elemental Tower was headed for defeat. They retreated in disgrace once before; now they were disrupting my peace. I decided I would need to take retaliatory measures against them as well.

Buzz!

My device rattled in my hand. I pulled it open to read a new message from Manager Lara. A flicker of relief washed over me.

"She’s here," I muttered.
