Meanwhile, the Green Elemental Tower directs its wizard families to sabotage the new appraisal shop in Crystal City by sending agents to investigate. Suspicious customers at the Crystal Shop, signaled by the Zero Puppet, are followed by Otto, revealing their connection to the Green Tower's plot; the protagonist grows cautious as reports confirm the shop's legitimacy to the scheming tower's higher-ups.

Crystal City

Several days slipped by, and operations continued without a hitch. Although no fresh disturbances had emerged, the team understood this was merely the quiet prelude to an impending crisis.

In the office, I stuck to my usual routine, scanning the news on my gadget. Every now and then, I glanced at the happenings outside, since I'd positioned the Zero Puppet in that spot.

I didn't need to constantly monitor the gallery room. Moreover, the Flame Elemental Tower had ceased stirring up any further issues.

The setback must have hit them hard. Because of their actions, I'd acquired a fresh magic spell, and I still held onto some unredeemed prizes.

Should the chance arise, I'd approach Lord Erwin with a favor. Perhaps he could locate a gravity spell within the Mage Union for me; I'm certain their archives boast an immense repository.

[Ding! Danger!]

[Ding! The presence of the Magic Lord was detected.]

The system's alert rang through my thoughts. Upon hearing it, I gathered my focus.

I turned my attention to the store's doorway and spotted a figure clad in opulent dark fabric stepping inside. The individual wore a mask concealing his features.

As he entered the premises, Old Man Rock snapped his eyes open and pivoted toward him. This dark-robed intruder was indeed a Magic Lord.

He spotted Old Man Rock too, and the pair locked gazes in tense silence.

By then, Hank had sensed the anomaly as well. His eyes settled on the cloaked stranger, triggering an instinctive wave of peril.

Such a profound menace he'd only encountered from Magic Lords or higher. He hurried to Old Man Rock's position to back him up.

At the same time, I made my way to the living quarters and caught sight of the masked figure. Fear didn't grip me.

"How can I assist you?" I inquired.

Patrick and Otto had joined me too, positioning themselves at my rear.

"You are Shop Owner Frank," the masked man declared.

"Yeah, that's me," I responded.

"Then I wish to converse with you privately. It's crucial," the masked man stated.

I gave a nod and guided him toward the office. I instructed the rest, Old Man Rock included, to carry on with their duties.

Within the office, I settled into the chair behind the desk and gestured for the masked man to sit. He took the seat across from mine.

"May I know your reason for coming now?" I questioned.

The masked man inclined his head before retrieving an item and setting it upon the surface. It appeared as a violet fabric, enveloping something within.

The masked man caught my expression. Noting my curiosity, he affirmed with a nod and peeled back the covering. Revealed was a slender, white bone the size of a finger, resembling flawless crystal.

A flicker of astonishment crossed my gaze. This marked my initial encounter with a bone crystal. The masked man held his tongue, watching my response closely.

He then spoke, "I seek details on this bone. Should you supply me with knowledge, I'll offer a fitting compensation."

"I'll give it a shot," I answered.

Next, I directed the system to examine the white bone.

[Ding! Finger bone of the Evil Forbidden Wizard detected.]

[Ding! No traces of Forbidden Power left.]

The system's notification resonated in my mind, and my pulse quickened moments later. I hadn't anticipated stumbling upon an item like this once more.

Just recently, I'd unearthed spoils containing the remains of a Forbidden Wizard.

The masked man creased his brow. Uncertainty lingered on whether I'd unveiled its secret.

This petite white finger bone wasn't commonplace; it served as the vital key to an inheritance locale, holding immense value for his group.

He remained unsure of my intentions, yet he'd ventured here on a whim of fortune.

I verified it stemmed from a Forbidden Wizard, though the masked man's objectives eluded me. Given his status as a Magic Lord, I couldn't risk offending him.

"I uncovered a few details," I informed him.

"What did you learn?" he pressed.

"It's the finger bone from a Forbidden Wizard, yet it lacks any lingering forbidden power," I explained, omitting its tie to an Evil Wizard.

The masked man exhaled silently. With this second confirmation, he could head back to his faction.

"Appreciate you sharing that. Here, select any one of these as your reward," the masked man offered, arraying multiple articles across the table.

My eyes scanned the assortment; I recognized these as my due. I activated the system's analysis on them.

My inspection swept over various items of diverse dimensions and forms, such as a necklace, a banner, and some unassuming artifacts.

The system's findings indicated they were magical artifacts linked to Evil Magic.

I had no intention of employing them, despite their potency and potential aid in my predicament.

My attention then shifted to a verdant vial. It contained a emerald fluid. Employing the system for scrutiny, I learned it was toxin drawn from a formidable bloodline beast's sac.

I regarded the masked man and chose the green vial. His surprise was evident.

He grinned and remarked, "You truly are an appraiser. You've pinpointed a valuable piece. That's venom I harvested from an 11th-Order monster."

"An 11th-Order monster?" I exclaimed in astonishment.

As an 11th-Order beast matches a Magic Lord's might, I hadn't foreseen obtaining such a treasure.

"Thanks for the evaluation. I look forward to future dealings." With those words, the masked man rose and departed the space.

The group stayed vigilant until his exit. Relief washed over them only after he fully vacated the district.

I was certain he hailed not from the Green Elemental Tower. He was a legitimate patron, albeit aligned with the Evil Wizard Faction.

"Master, who was that?" Otto inquired.

At his words, I spun to face the others.

"No need to fret, he was genuinely a client, unaffiliated with the Green Elemental Tower or similar groups," I assured them.
