Gravity Mage with Level-Up System Chapter 1808: Boarding the airship!
Previously on Gravity Mage with Level-Up System...
As we journeyed through the skies in the flying car, I caught sight of several vehicles tailing us closely. A sly smile formed on my lips. Hank had also picked up on the trouble.
Rage boiled within Hank, yet he restrained himself, waiting for my order as Master Vincent.
"Keep driving without stopping. I'll handle those followers soon enough," I instructed Hank.
My aim was to cross the border, though numerous transit cities lay in our path first. Upon arriving at the following city, I directed Hank to pull over at a nearby store.
Situated right in the heart of the area, the store drew us in. He touched down in the parking zone, and we exited the car before heading indoors.
Our pursuers, the spies, showed up at the location too, but they hung back outside to avoid raising any suspicion.
Once inside, my eyes landed on the section displaying vehicles. My purpose there was to acquire a personal flying car. The black raven craft we'd relied on stood out far too much.
Hank remained unfazed, fully grasping my intentions. We then entered a display room and began examining various flying vehicles on offer.
A store attendant approached and began showcasing the different models.
These cutting-edge flying vehicles boasted advanced capabilities, including the ability to shift colors based on the owner's preference. They reached impressive maximum speeds while emitting minimal sound.
After listening, I selected a model that fit my needs perfectly. It featured a deep maroon hue, measured five meters long, and stood two meters tall.
The sports-model flying car appealed to me greatly, so I moved forward with the purchase. The attendant beamed with satisfaction.
20 minutes later...
Piloting the new maroon sports car, I departed from the store's opposite exit, while directing Hank to return to Crystal City.
Through the System, I'd verified that none of the trackers had stepped foot inside. With that, I activated the flight mode on the car.
The vehicle lifted off the ground, ascending smoothly into the air above. I then ramped up the velocity. In an instant, the car vanished from the area.
Swoosh!
My course led straight to the subsequent transit city. Air traffic remained sparse. With no other flying cars in front, I bridged the gap in record time.
Meanwhile, Hank set off back to Crystal City. Confusion gripped the spies; they'd lost track of their mark. By the time they sought out the store owner, Frank, it was far too late—he had vanished completely.
Speechless and defeated, the spies had no option but to retreat. They departed the transit city and started their return journey to Crystal City.
A few hours later...
In my maroon car, I arrived at the border, specifically the final border town. This exit point from the town was one I'd utilized on multiple occasions in the past.
Approaching the border checkpoint, several stationed wizards moved to intercept me. I presented the Silver Tower badge, which sufficed without revealing my identity.
Upon viewing the badge, the wizards shifted to a deferential demeanor and granted passage. I gave them a nod of acknowledgment before proceeding onward.
Crossing beyond the border, the car ventured into the vast wasteland, an desolate expanse extending endlessly.
Beyond lay the Dark Territory. Opting for a different route would lead to encounters with various Independent Cities.
I'd visited those Independent Cities previously. For now, pushing further ahead was necessary to check for any passing transport vehicles on the route.
Deeper in, I brought the car to a stop. Exiting, I stored the vehicle safely within the System space.
Scanning the surroundings, I found myself in a lush green field, utterly deserted. Next, I materialized inside the Gregor Mansion, where I swapped into wandering wizard robes and a fresh mask.
Emerging once more, I pressed on along the forward path.
As evening fell, I sought shelter beneath a shady tree for respite. My plan was to resume the journey come morning.
"From what Otto mentioned, the goods haven't arrived in Tulip City yet. They might still be en route," I pondered.
My mind sharpened with this realization, leading me to stay put. Should they approach the border from the Dark Territory, this very path would be their route.
Meanwhile...
The cargo originating from the Dark Territory departed toward Magic City. Transported aboard a heavily guarded airship from Tulip City, the shipment received protection from Tulip City's wizards.
A majority of the items came from a single shop in Tulip City, with the rest sourced from other establishments.
Aboard the airship traveled Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords, though no Forbidden Wizards were present.
Steadily, the airship advanced in the direction of the border.
Under the tree at midnight, I stirred from rest. My eyes snapped open as the System alerted me to an approaching airship.
Swoosh!
Without delay, I activated my flight powers and soared upward. In the distance, an object approached my position.
It turned out to be an airship. To safeguard my heart, I deployed the Core-Eating Mirror artifact.
"System, inspect the airship," I ordered mentally.
[Ding! There are 3 Magic Lords and 8 Supreme Wizards.]
The System's response resounded in my mind. This revelation quickened my pulse. The presence of so many wizards caught me off guard.
Uncertain about the nature of their cargo, I steadied my nerves and focused forward. The airship drew nearer.
I instructed the System to conceal my aura. My aim was to board the airship's deck undetected. At this late hour, I figured no one would be patrolling.
As the airship's bow glided past, I darted to its stern. Landing on the deck happened in a flash.
Tud!
My feet touched down on the deck. Moments later, I employed the System's scan to assess the surroundings. It reported that all occupants remained confined to the interior cabins, leaving the exterior clear.
A grin spread across my face. Now was the moment to locate the cargo.
