Ethan arrives to find his friend Zeon and Princess Liora intervening to defend the Riverborn Clan from a brutal attack by the Moonfall Clan. After providing Zeon with healing supplies and securing his safety, Ethan confronts the Moonfall Clan's arrogant Holy Son, Lucien. Despite Lucien's dismissive attitude toward Ethan's cultivation level, the two prepare to clash as the surrounding battlefield comes to a tense standstill.

"However, the last person from the Moonfall Clan who acted this confident has already been reduced to ash."

"I assume you recognize these?"

As Ethan finished his sentence, two tokens manifested before him. These were the identity tokens he had looted from Werner and Erna.

At the sight of these items, Lucien's gaze turned sharp as a blade.

He was not alone in his reaction. Every member of the Moonfall Clan displayed total bewilderment, which swiftly gave way to a look of absolute, burning hatred.

One was the badge of a Moonfall Clan Elder, while the other belonged to a top-tier Shadow Guard. This peak Upper Supreme, who had appeared out of nowhere, was the very murderer who had ended the lives of their Seventh Elder, Werner, and their Shadow Guard, Erna.

"Clan Head, that is the Seventh Elder's token," Wilford declared, pointing an accusatory finger at Ethan.

"This pup is the Star of Calamity mentioned by the High Priestess. He is the one responsible for the deaths of the Seventh Elder and Erna."

"I never imagined he would show up so soon. This is perfect."

Glacien laughed heartily, his fists clenched and his expression twisted with savage intent.

"Lucien, I delegate this task to you."

"Sever his limbs, break his cultivation, and drag him back to our clan. I want him to experience the agony of ten thousand insects devouring his heart," Glacien barked his orders.

"Understood."

Lucien glared daggers at Ethan and hissed, "Kid, I truly didn't expect you to be the Star of Calamity our Moonfall Clan has been hunting."

"A mere Upper Supreme like you lacks the necessary capability to do such a thing."

"Summon whoever is backing you. If you delay, you won't get another chance." His voice was frigid, and the murderous intent in his eyes surged uncontrolled.

"What if those two from your Moonfall Clan were, in reality, slain by someone as lowly as an Upper Supreme?" Ethan countered, his lips curling into a playful and mocking smile.

"Scum, you dare engage in such shameless boasting?"

"Today, I will show you what a genuine expert looks like. You will surely regret offending the Moonfall Clan."

Lucien let out a cold snort, his terrifying aura swelling to its absolute peak.

Icy divine power saturated the surrounding air, coalescing into the form of a massive Ice Dragon spiritual body that hovered behind him.

Roar.

The Ice Dragon fixed its blood-red eyes upon Ethan. It threw its colossal head back to unleash a furious roar, spewing a terrifying breath of frost. As the frost swept forward, it froze the air solid, unleashing a momentum that threatened to turn the entire world into a glacier.

"I will regret offending your Moonfall Clan?"

"You are far from qualified to utter such words."

As Lucien charged, Ethan fully engaged his Celestial Jade Physique Scripture. Star power surged through his Meridians, his divine power pushed to its absolute limit.

A tyrannical presence erupted, surging into the heavens and clashing head-on with Lucien's pressure.

Cyan lightning manifested and crackled violently, dancing like frenzied serpents around Ethan’s form, illuminating a vast expanse of the night sky.

Even though he was merely at the peak of the Upper Supreme realm, his aura and the intensity of his divine power were not a whit weaker than those of a Perfect Supreme.

His divine power burned with such heat that it vaporized the incoming freezing breath into steam. The killing intent radiating from Lucien dissipated the moment it crossed the thirty-foot threshold around Ethan.

Before they had even traded a single blow, the shockwaves from their opposing auras turned the surrounding landscape into a wasteland: forests were obliterated, the earth shook, and deep ravines split the terrain as the ice and snow melted away.

The onlookers were struck dumb by the spectacle.

Most had assumed the Riverborn Clan was finished, yet they never expected one top-tier expert after another to surface.

First came the young man flanked by two Perfect Supremes, then the breathtakingly beautiful woman who was also a Perfect Supreme, and now this young man.

A peak Upper Supreme could typically found his own Sect elsewhere and reign as a local sovereign, yet here in the White North Ice Field, he was often seen as inferior to the great Ancient Clans.

The truly baffling thing was that his presence refused to falter; he clearly possessed the strength to trade blows with a Perfect Supreme.

This was the first time these people had witnessed a battle crossing two major realms. Even Lucien, who was heralded as a monstrous genius born once in ten thousand years, could not have stood up to a Perfect Supreme when he himself was only at the peak Upper Supreme level.

"Quick, step back further!" a voice shouted.

The spectators scrambled to retreat, fearful of being caught in the fallout.

Watching from a distance, the Great Elder of the Silvermere Clan wore a grave expression as he processed the scene.

He had spent his life exploring the world, but he had never witnessed such raw, savage combat prowess. This display was arguably more monstrous than anything Lucien had ever shown.

"Great Elder, what is this man's origin?"

"An Upper Supreme who wields such a terrifying aura and feels no fear toward the Moonfall Clan's Holy Son?" the woman beside him inquired.

"I have no idea," he replied grimly.

"However, this man has the power to rival a Perfect Supreme. Effectively, the Riverborn Clan has gained three reinforcements at the Perfect Supreme level. They should survive this crisis."

"The Riverborn Clan surviving is a blessing for all the factions in the White North Ice Field," the woman sighed, feeling a flicker of relief.

"Indeed, it is clear that fate does not intend for the Riverborn Clan to perish."

"That woman’s origin is quite significant as well."

"The golden luster surrounding her must be the Power of Destiny. To be bolstered by such potent destiny, she is almost certainly from the Imperial Family of the Great Verdant Lantern Empire," the Great Elder murmured, his tone filled with reverence as he looked at Liora.

"Someone from the Great Verdant Lantern Imperial Family? What brings them to the White North Ice Field?" she asked.

"The threshold of the Demon Caverns is opening soon. They are likely hunting for the treasures buried within."

"There is really only one woman from that kin with such immense talent and power: the Eldest Princess of the Great Verdant Lantern, Princess Liora."

"Rumors have been circulating that the Great Verdant Emperor intends to pass his throne to her. If she ascends, she will be the first Empress since the empire was founded."

"A woman who truly refuses to surrender to men," the Silvermere Clan's Great Elder praised.

"The battle is starting," the woman reminded him.

The Great Elder gazed upward, where high in the night-shrouded sky, Ethan and Lucien finally collided.

Boom.

A muted explosion rang out, and under the force of their strike, the very world seemed to change its hue.
