Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1294: From Another Apocalypse
Previously on Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle...
Soon, the demons began attacking from different directions, forcing the Super Soldiers to constantly reposition themselves. Some charged directly into their firing line while others climbed across the walls and ceiling, trying to surround them.
The Super Soldiers quickly discovered that fighting demons was very different from fighting ordinary Vampires or Zombies...
The creatures didn’t simply rely on their physical strength.
One demon suddenly began screaming.
Screeecchhh~
The sound wasn’t particularly loud, yet the moment the they heard it, several of them froze.
Their weapons lowered and suddenly their eyes became unfocused.
Reese immediately realized what was happening.
"Don’t listen to it!"
He activated Executioner’s Will.
The strange influence trying to invade his mind was immediately suppressed...
Then, he rushed toward the demon while pulling another device from his equipment belt.
A purification grenade!
He immediately threw it.
The grenade landed directly beneath the demon.
Bang!
A bright flash came, and the strange scream abruptly stopped. Just like that, the affected Supersoldiers gasped as they regained control of their bodies.
"What... was that?"
"Mind manipulation."
Reese didn’t bother explaining further.
He was already moving again as the demon responsible for the attack tried to escape deeper into the tunnels, but Reese’s Hunter’s Instinct followed it.
"It won’t get away."
He disappeared into the darkness.
A few seconds later, a muffled explosion echoed from deeper inside the lair.
The Supersoldiers exchanged glances as Wade couldn’t help but smile.
"I think Reese has it handled."
They continued dealing with the demons surrounding them.
The battle became increasingly one-sided.
The Supersoldiers had adapted to the demons’ regeneration, while Reese continued identifying and countering their unusual abilities. Whenever a special demon attempted to use poison, curses, concealment, or mental attacks, Reese would recognize the danger before it could cause serious damage.
His specialized weapons were equally effective.
Silver bolts pinned demons to the ground. Purification grenades burned away large areas of corruption, and the runed blades easily tore through demonic flesh.
Even the simple ammunition carried by the Supersoldiers became deadly once combined with Reese’s ability to identify the demons’ weaknesses.
One by one, the creatures fell.

Eventually, the last demon turned and attempted to flee toward the deepest part of the underground complex...
Of course, Reese immediately noticed it.
"There."
Wade raised his rifle, but Reese stopped him.
"Don’t shoot."
The demon suddenly disappeared into the darkness.
Several Super Soldiers looked confused.
"Where did it go?"
Reese closed his eyes and activated Hunter’s Instinct. His senses quickly spread through the surrounding area, allowing him to track the demon even though it had hidden itself.
"It’s underneath us."
He pointed toward the stone floor.
"About ten meters below."
Wade immediately understood.
"Everyone, move back."
The Supersoldiers quickly repositioned themselves and aimed their weapons at the spot Reese had indicated.
A moment later, the stone floor suddenly exploded as the demon burst out.
Before it could react, the entire team opened fire!
Bang! Bang!
Dozens of blessed bullets tore through its body, causing it to fall to the ground as its regeneration was suppressed.
Reese immediately rushed forward with his silver blade.
"This is the end."
Demonbane Strike!
His blade pierced through the demon’s chest, and purified energy erupted from the wound. The demon struggled for a few moments before collapsing and slowly dissolving into black smoke.
The underground lair finally became silent.
Wade lowered his weapon and looked around.
"Is that really all of them?"
Reese stood still for a moment as his Hunter’s Instinct swept through the entire underground complex.
There was no trace of another demon.
"Yes. We eliminated all of them."
The Supersoldiers finally relaxed.
Some of them began checking their weapons and ammunition while Wade looked at Reese with a faint smile.
"Very impressive... You deserve your title as a Demon Hunter.
Reese chuckled.
"Yes... Demons are my specialty."
The group then began searching the underground complex, expecting to find some kind of demonic altar or treasure.
Instead, they discovered a large chamber at the very back of the lair.
A strange circular structure stood in the center...
"This..." Wade was shocked.
It looked like a portal.
Dark energy swirled around its edges while a faint purple light pulsed through the center.
Wade approached cautiously.
Reese stepped closer and activated Hunter’s Instinct.
There were no demons on the other side.
Instead, he sensed a human presence.
Before Reese could say anything, the portal suddenly trembled.
Everyone immediately raised their weapons as a figure slowly emerged from the swirling light.
It was a man in his thirties, dressed in strange protective clothing with several weapons attached to his body.
Reese’s eyes immediately focused on them.
A silver dagger, a specialized crossbow, several containers of holy water, purification grenades, and even a pouch filled with silver needles.
Reese’s expression changed.
He immediately realized that the man wasn’t a demon.
He was human.
But more importantly, Reese could sense familiar energy coming from his body.
Reese stared at him in disbelief.
The man stepped out of the portal and looked around confidently.
That confidence quickly disappeared when he saw the dozens of dead demons scattered throughout the chamber.
He froze and looked at the corpses, then at Reese and the heavily armed Supersoldiers behind him.
"What?"
He pointed toward the dead demons.
"You already killed them all?"
Nobody answered. The man lowered his head and sighed.
"I even prepared for it..."
He touched the weapons hanging from his body with a disappointed expression.
"I was planning to kill these demons myself. Ugh! My exp!"
Wade raised an eyebrow. He didn’t know the man but it seemed that he wasn’t an enemy since he also planned to kill the Demons.
"You were planning to kill them?"
"Of course."
The man then looked at Reese more carefully as he also realized something.
Reese smiled and gently nodded.
"You are a Demon Hunter."
The man nodded.
At this point, he was genuinely surprised. He had thought his demon-hunting abilities were extremely rare, yet another human had appeared in front of him with similar abilities and an entire arsenal designed specifically for fighting demons.
The man looked at the dead demons again, and his expression became bitter.
"I can’t believe I prepared all of this for nothing."
"You should have come earlier."
"I know."
The man sighed before suddenly looking at the corpses again.
"At least tell me you didn’t destroy all the cores."
Reese raised an eyebrow.
"Why?"
The man’s expression immediately brightened.
"Because if you didn’t..."
He looked at the corpses with renewed hope.
"...then maybe I didn’t come here completely prepared for nothing. I’m Wallace from the Codebreaker’s Guild. "
