Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1260: The Plan for Exploration

[ Tundra: Then I guess we’ll have to find a way to control it before that happens. ]
[ Max: You’re saying that like it’s a normal problem! ]
[ Tundra: Well, what else can I do? The island started floating on its own. ]
[ Raze: Wait. So you’re telling us that you completed a Hidden Quest and were rewarded with an entire floating island that you can’t even control? ]
[ Tundra: That’s one way to put it. ]
[ Max: That’s not a reward! That’s a giant flying problem! ]
[ Tundra: It seems to be safe for now. The entire Mist Shelter is still intact, and the island has stopped rising as well... probably ]
Shane’s expression became slightly more serious.
From what Tundra had told him, this was clearly more than just a strange side effect of a Hidden Quest.
[ Shane: You mentioned that you found a facility underneath the island? ]
[ Tundra: Yes. A massive one. It was buried deep inside the island, and we only discovered it after the landmass separated from the ground. ]
[ Shane: What kind of facility? ]
[ Tundra: We don’t know yet. There are massive metal structures embedded inside the island, and some of them seem to be connected to an energy system. The technology doesn’t look like anything the world governments had before the Apocalypse. ]
That immediately caught everyone’s attention.
He was already aware of the Project Mist’s mysteriousness, but if the island had now risen into the sky and revealed an even larger facility, then there was clearly something much more important hidden there.
[ Shane: Did you find anything related to Project Mist? ]
[ Tundra: Not yet. We haven’t entered the facility. ]
[ Shane: Then don’t rush into it. Wait until I get there. ]
[ Tundra: I was planning to do that anyway. ]
[ Max: Boss, are you planning to visit the floating island? Can I join? ]
[ Shane: Of course. How could I ignore something like that? You can always join. Everyone can. ]
[ Minerva: Got it. I’ll clear my schedule. I’ll visit later this afternoon. ]

The Clan Chat immediately became lively again.
Although the Abyssal Invasion had just ended, nobody complained about having to move again.
Instead, quite the opposite happened.
The moment they heard the words floating island and ancient facility, many of them had already made up their minds.
If Tundra had truly discovered a place unrelated to Project Mist and hidden beneath Eden Island since before the Apocalypse...
Then nobody wanted to miss the opportunity to explore it.
After all, this was exactly how many valuable inheritances and treasures had been discovered since the Apocalypse began.
Hidden facilities often contained things that could completely change a Survivor’s future.
The chat quickly filled with messages.
[ Max: Alright! I’m packing my stuff now. ]
[ Jillian: Don’t forget your healing potions this time. ]
[ Max: ...That only happened once. ]
[ Tessa: Three times. ]
[ Max: Details. ]
[ Tieria: I’ll bring extra ammunition. We have no idea what we’ll find inside. ]
[ Sandara: Same here. I’ll refill my arrows first. ]
[ Lyra: I’ll prepare more talismans before leaving. ]
Seeing everyone already making preparations, Shane couldn’t help but smile.
It seemed that nobody intended to stay behind.

Meanwhile, inside the Eclipse Domain Shelter, Max had already rushed back to his room.
His backpack was quickly filled with spare magazines, grenades, healing potions, energy drinks, and several emergency rations.
He even checked every weapon one last time before placing them inside his System Inventory.
At the corner of the room, a small fox-like mystical beast raised its head lazily.
Unlike combat-type pets, the little creature specialized in detecting danger and hidden treasures.
"Looks like you’re coming with me again."
The fox happily jumped onto his shoulder.

At the New Genesis Shelter, Minerva was equally busy.
She carefully organized several scrolls, recovery medicines, antidotes, and support artifacts into a compact leather pouch.
Her mystical companion, a small white owl with silver eyes, quietly landed on her arm. She had to feed this bird 3 Zombie Cores every day!
"You have to earn your keep now..."
The owl possessed exceptional night vision and could perceive traces of Spiritual Energy that ordinary Survivors couldn’t detect.
If there were hidden passages or concealed formations inside the mysterious facility, it would become an invaluable guide.
Minerva gently stroked its feathers.
"We’re heading somewhere interesting."
The owl let out a soft cry as if it understood.

Springriver Manor was no different.
Tieria moved from the Omega Stronghold and allowed the others to handle the matters there... Soon, he was inspecting his firearms while Jillian prepared additional medical supplies for the group.
Nearby, Sandara checked the tension of her bowstring before storing several special arrows inside her quiver.
Lyra, meanwhile, quietly arranged stacks of talismans inside a wooden case.
Each talisman came from Aya, and they all had different purposes.
Some could illuminate dark passages... others could detect hostile creatures, weaken curses, or temporarily strengthen allies.
Although they weren’t particularly useful during large-scale battles, they were perfect for exploring dangerous ruins.
Not far away, several mystical pets were also making preparations.
A tiny crystal turtle slowly climbed onto a backpack.
A colorful hummingbird circled above its owner before landing on her shoulder.
A mole-like creature capable of sensing underground tunnels dug excitedly through the soil before being called back.
None of them were powerful enough to fight Zombies or Demons... Not even Low-Tier Zombies like Walkers...
However, every one of them possessed abilities that could prove invaluable during an expedition into an unknown facility.
After all, surviving inside ancient ruins rarely depended on combat strength alone.
Sometimes, the ability to detect a hidden trap, locate a concealed passage, or sense danger a few seconds earlier was worth far more than another sword or spell.
One after another, members of the Eclipse Revenant Clan finished their preparations.
Although they had just survived one of the argest invasion humanity had ever faced, not a single one hesitated.
Because everyone understood the same thing.
The mysterious floating island hidden beneath Eden Island might very well contain one of the greatest discoveries since the Apocalypse began.

Meanwhile, while the members of the Clan were preparing for the expedition from their respective shelters, the situation at the Mist Shelter remained relatively calm.
Nobody rushed toward the mysterious facility.
Although everyone was curious about what lay beyond the enormous metal doors, they understood one simple fact.
Curiosity alone wasn’t enough to keep them alive.
If the ancient facility had remained sealed beneath Eden Island until today, then there was no reason to believe it would be harmless.
Tundra eventually turned toward one of the figures standing nearby.
"Sir Sylas."
The Legendary Elf immediately stepped forward.
"You want me to scout ahead..."
It wasn’t a question and Tundra nodded.
"We don’t know what’s waiting for us inside. I’d rather have some information before everyone else arrives. You’re the only one I can trust with this mission."
Sylas glanced toward the gigantic entrance exposed along the side of the floating island.
The enormous metal doors remained completely still.
There wasn’t even the slightest sound coming from within.
"I’ll be back."
His voice was calm as always.
The next moment, his figure blurred before disappearing completely.
Unlike ordinary stealth skills that merely concealed one’s body, Sylas’ presence itself seemed to vanish from the world.
Even Natalie, who had been watching him closely, lost sight of him within seconds.
"...He’s gone."
Travis adjusted his glasses.
"I couldn’t even follow his movement."
Tundra wasn’t surprised.
Sylas had long proven why he deserved to be called one of the strongest assassination specialists under Shane’s command.
His combat ability alone wasn’t what made him terrifying.
It was his ability to observe everything without ever being noticed.
***
The distance between their position and the ancient facility wasn’t particularly far.
However, Sylas didn’t move in a straight line.
He silently traveled through the surrounding terrain, using the broken rocks and towering fragments of earth left behind when Eden Island rose into the sky as natural cover.
Even though there wasn’t a single visible enemy nearby, he never allowed his guard to drop.
Several minutes later...
The massive entrance finally came into full view.
Standing before it made the structure appear even more imposing than it had from afar.
The giant doors were easily several stories tall.
Countless ancient symbols covered their surface, forming intricate patterns that spread from the center toward the edges.
Those patterns looked more like an unfamiliar language.
Yet despite their differences, every symbol seemed connected to the others, forming one complete design.
Soon, Sylas stopped nearly fifty meters away.
He didn’t approach immediately.
Instead, his eyes slowly swept across the surroundings, the ground, the walls, the ceiling, and the exposed sections of the island.
Nothing escaped his observation.
Years of experience had taught him that the greatest danger was often the one people never thought to look for.
"Interesting design..."
Several moments passed.
Only after confirming that there were no obvious threats did he quietly move closer.
His footsteps remained completely silent.
When he finally reached the giant doors, Sylas didn’t touch them.
Instead, he crouched and examined the metallic floor before the entrance.
Unlike the rough stone surrounding the facility, the ground here was perfectly smooth.
Not even centuries of burial beneath the island had managed to leave visible damage.
Still, he couldn’t help but frown at the sight of it.
"This is a problem..."
