Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1255: The Rise
Previously on Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle...
"Can you sense anything?"
Travis asked as he soon discovered a few suspicious stones.
Tundra immediately walked toward him and examined the area where Travis was standing. At first, the stones looked like nothing more than ordinary pieces of rock that had been thrown around during the battle. The entire battlefield had been heavily damaged, after all, so it was not strange to find rocks scattered across the ground.
However, after looking at them more carefully, Tundra quickly realized that something was wrong.
"Wait."
Natalie also crouched down beside one of the stones and brushed away some of the dirt surrounding it.
"This wasn’t caused by the explosion."
Tundra immediately looked at her.
"What do you mean?"
Natalie pointed toward the ground.
"Look at the soil around it."
Tundra followed her finger and narrowed his eyes.
The area surrounding the stone had clearly been damaged during the battle, but the soil directly beneath it was different. It had been compressed into a strange circular pattern, almost as if something extremely heavy had been placed there for a long time.
Travis moved toward another location and began examining the ground.
"There’s another one here."
Tundra immediately walked over.
Sure enough, another suspicious stone was partially buried beneath the soil.
Then they found another... and another.
The three of them soon realized that there were more than a dozen stones scattered throughout the area.
Tundra’s expression slowly became serious.
These stones were not random.
They were positioned around the location where the dimensional scar had once existed.
"Could these have been here before the rift appeared?" Travis asked.
Tundra shook his head... "No."
He had already examined this area earlier, and the battlefield had been relatively clear before the Demons began their attack. If these stones had been visible on the surface, he would have noticed them.
"They were probably hidden beneath the ground."
Natalie frowned as she looked at the stones.
"Then why would the dimensional scar leave them behind?"
Tundra didn’t answer immediately. Still, he took out the small black crystal that he had discovered earlier.
The moment the Abyssal Rift Fragment appeared, something strange happened.
The crystal immediately began trembling in his hand.
Tundra’s eyes widened...
"That’s strange."
Travis looked at the crystal.
"What is it doing?"
"I don’t know."
Tundra carefully moved the crystal closer to one of the stones.
The trembling immediately became stronger.
Then, a faint black light appeared on the surface of the stone.
Natalie and Travis immediately became alert.
The black light slowly spread from one stone to another, and soon, the rest of the stones began glowing as well.
A strange pattern gradually appeared on the ground.
Everyone immediately realized what it was...
It was a formation.
They had seen something similar before... Aya’s creations had a similar vibe to it.
Of course, none of them could understand what kind of formation it was, but they were certain that it had not been created naturally.
Tundra crouched down and carefully examined the formation.
There were no obvious runes that he recognized, and the symbols carved into the stones were unlike anything he had seen before. Instead, the entire formation seemed to be constructed from a strange combination of energies.
One of them was clearly Abyssal energy.
However, there was something else mixed within it.
"Draconic Energy..." Travis muttered.
The other two looked at him and nodded. Since he had Draconic Blood within him, none of them doubted his words.
Then, Tundra suddenly remembered the information he had received from the Abyssal Rift Fragment.
A remnant left behind after the destruction of a Dimensional Scar, and it was connected to a greater source.
Could this formation be part of that connection? Dragon Realm? Are you serious?"
Tundra’s eyes narrowed.
"Something is still here."
Natalie immediately became cautious.
"What?"
"Not a Demon."
Tundra slowly stood up as he looked around the battlefield.
"Something else."
Before either Natalie or Travis could ask what he meant, the Abyssal Rift Fragment suddenly released a faint pulse.
The formation immediately reacted.
BOOM!
Just like that, a powerful wave of energy spread outward.
Natalie and Travis instinctively stepped backward while Tundra remained where he was, staring at the strange formation.
Then, for a brief moment, his vision suddenly became distorted.
Tundra saw something.
It was only a glimpse, but the image was clear enough to leave him stunned.
A massive black sky appeared before him...
Countless floating islands could be seen in the distance, drifting through the endless darkness. Something enormous was moving between those islands, but Tundra couldn’t see its entire body.
’A dragon?’
Then, just as quickly as it had appeared, the vision disappeared.
Everything returned to normal and the formation stopped glowing.
Tundra remained silent.
"What did you see?"
Natalie immediately asked.
Tundra looked at her.
For a moment, he considered telling them what he had seen, but he eventually shook his head.
"I don’t know."
This was the truth. He didn’t know what that place was, nor did he know what the enormous creature moving through the darkness had been.
However, one thing was certain.
There was something on the other side of the dimensional scars.
Something far greater than the Demon Generals they had just fought.
Before Tundra could think about it further, the familiar System notifications suddenly appeared before his eyes.
[ You have discovered an Abyssal Resonance Formation. ]
[ You have uncovered a hidden structure left behind by the destroyed Dimensional Scar. ]
[ Second Objective Completed: Discover a hidden structure connected to the Abyss. ]
[ Current Progress: 2/3 ]
Tundra’s eyes immediately widened.
He had to discover a hidden structure connected to the Abyss.
However, there was still one objective remaining. Tundra looked at the stones surrounding them and realized that the formation had already disappeared, but something about it still bothered him.
It was at this point that Natalie suddenly stopped.
"Here."
Tundra immediately walked toward her.
Natalie was standing beside a large crater created during the battle. A large piece of rock had fallen into the crater, and Travis immediately moved forward to help her remove it.
After the debris was cleared away, they finally discovered what had been hidden beneath it.
There was another stone.
However, this one was different from the others.
It had not been buried directly in the soil.
Tundra crouched down and carefully examined the container.
There were several strange markings carved into its surface, and the moment Natalie saw them, her expression suddenly changed.
"These markings..."
Tundra immediately looked at her.
"You recognize them?"
"Did you forget? We found similar symbols in some of the old facilities connected to Project Mist."
The atmosphere immediately became quiet.
Project Mist.
The mysterious project created by the world’s governments before the Zombie Apocalypse. The project that was supposedly created to save humanity.
But now, the same markings had appeared in a location connected to the Abyss.
Travis then opened the metal container.
The moment the container was opened, a powerful wave of energy suddenly escaped from inside.
Natalie and Travis immediately protected themselves, but nothing attacked them.
Instead, they saw a black stone lying inside the container.
It was much larger than the Abyssal Rift Fragment Tundra had discovered earlier, and its surface was covered in strange markings.
Tundra immediately took out the fragment.
The moment the two objects were brought close together, the black stone suddenly reacted.
Whom~
Then, the System notifications appeared before Tundra’s eyes.
[ A complete Abyssal Resonance Formation has been discovered. ]
[ The final requirement has been fulfilled. ]
[ Third Objective Completed: Discover the connection between the Abyssal Dimensional Scars and the hidden world beyond them. ]
Tundra’s eyes immediately widened.
The final objective had been completed.
The System continued displaying notifications.
[ Hidden Quest: Uncover the Remains of the Abyss ]
[ Quest Progress: 3/3 ]
[ Congratulations! ]
[ You have successfully completed the Hidden Quest: Uncover the Remains of the Abyss. ]
Tundra stared at the notifications.
He had finally completed it.
The first objective had been completed when he investigated the remains of the destroyed dimensional scar and discovered the Abyssal Rift Fragment.
The second objective had been completed when he discovered the hidden Abyssal Resonance Formation.
And now, with the discovery of the final stone and the connection between the formation, the Abyssal Rift Fragment, and the strange object connected to Project Mist, he had finally completed the Hidden Quest.
However, Tundra didn’t have much time to celebrate.
Another series of notifications immediately appeared.
[ Hidden Quest Completion Reward is being calculated. ]
[ You have received 1x Abyssal Investigation Chest. ]
[ You have received 1x Greater Abyssal Rift Fragment. ]
[ You have received 1x Abyssal Resonance Key. ]
[ You have received the Title: Abyssal Pathfinder. ]
Tundra’s expression immediately changed.
Another title?
He had only recently obtained the Demon General Slayer title after killing Draveth, yet he had already received another one.
However, before Tundra could examine the title, the completed formation suddenly began to shine.
The black stone floating above the formation released a powerful wave of energy.
Then, beneath their feet, the entire Eden Island suddenly began to rise into the sky.
