The dragon Whisperer unleashed a powerful flame, clearing the battlefield's mist and allowing the defenders to attack. As the demons were pushed back, General Draveth targeted the weakened Whisperer, but Shinja intervened. With the help of Warden Units and Super Soldiers, Draveth was surrounded and ultimately defeated by a holy spell from the priests, yielding significant rewards for the participants.

"This..."

Tundra was shocked as he looked at the personalized notifications that had appeared before him.

Unlike the others, he had received something different.

Apparently, because he had dealt the final blow to Draveth, the system had recognized his contribution separately.

[ You have dealt the final blow to Draveth the Executioner. ]

[ You have successfully eliminated a Demon General. ]

[ You have received the Final Strike Reward. ]

[ You have received 1x Demon General’s Treasure Chest. ]

[ You have received 1x Legendary-Grade Mana Crystal. ]

[ You have received 1x Demon General’s Soul Fragment. ]

[ You have received the Title: Demon General Slayer. ]

Tundra’s eyes immediately widened. This was a completely different type of notification, probably tailored for Demons. Still, he really liked this style as he had a clearer view of the items he received.

"A title?"

He had not expected this at all. After all, new titles only come from Lord Type Zombies.

This one, however, was only a Demon General.

Tundra immediately opened the information about the title.

[ Title: Demon General Slayer ]

[ Description: A title awarded to a Survivor who has personally delivered the final blow against a Demon General.

When fighting against Demons or Abyssal Creatures, all damage dealt is increased by 5%. ]

Your attacks have a 3% chance to ignore a portion of the target’s Abyssal resistance. ]

Tundra stared at the information.

"Not bad."

He couldn’t help but feel surprised.

The title itself was already quite useful.

Five percent increased damage against Demons and Abyssal Creatures might not seem like much, but this was a permanent effect. It would become especially useful during the Abyssal Invasion, considering that most of the enemies they would encounter were Demons.

As for the second effect, it was even more interesting.

A chance to ignore a portion of Abyssal resistance.

This meant that even if he encountered a powerful Demon with strong resistance against normal attacks, there was still a chance that his attacks could deal more damage.

Tundra nodded in satisfaction.

"Looks like it was worth throwing all those explosives."

However, there was no time to think more about this. The demons were still here!

Tundra saw the two Demon Generals who were still alive starting to move away!

But before he could argue, something suddenly happened.

A powerful explosion struck the battlefield.

BOOM!

Everyone was forced to stop as the defenders immediately looked toward the source.

They were a bit confused since none of them were informed that a missile-like attack would strike the ground. Normally, they would be warned by their commanders if such a powerful attack were to land. After all, they could’ve been injured.

However, even the commanders looked surprised at the sudden attack. Still, everything became clear in a few moments...

A figure had appeared in the middle of the battlefield, and he seemed to be floating a few inches off the ground!

He was an old man.

He was wearing a simple mage robe, and his long white hair moved gently in the wind. His eyes were calm as he looked around the battlefield.

"Merlin?"

Shinja immediately recognized the man.

Merlin nodded at Shinja before he looked toward the two remaining Demon Generals.

Then, he looked at Whisperer....

The young dragon was standing behind him as if recognizing that the old mage was truly a powerful figure.

Merlin frowned.

"You used your Dragon Breath without controlling... Now you have to eat some Mana Crystals..." Merlin commented as he assessed the situation.

Whisperer lowered his head... The dragon seemed almost embarrassed.

Merlin couldn’t help but sigh.

Since Whisperer was still quite young, he could be a bit too excited when using his skills.

Of course, the defenders couldn’t help but look at the strange scene...

The powerful Dragon that had just burned away the entire battlefield seemed to be acting like a child being scolded by an old grandfather.

However, the two Demon Generals weren’t amused.

Varaxis stared at Merlin.

The old mage didn’t look particularly threatening. He was simply floating a few inches above the ground while wearing a simple mage robe, and his long white hair was gently moving with the wind. There was no overwhelming aura around him, and Merlin wasn’t even holding a weapon.

However, Varaxis had survived countless battles in the Abyss, and his instincts were warning him that the old man standing before him was extremely dangerous.

"Who are you?" Varaxis finally asked.

Merlin didn’t answer immediately. Instead, he looked at the Demon General for a moment before glancing at the corpse of Draveth.

"One of your companions has already fallen."

Varaxis’s expression darkened. It was like he was being mocked by the old man.

They had originally believed that the Mist Shelter would be easy to destroy after weakening the barrier and confusing the defenders with the fog. Even the appearance of Whisperer had been part of their plan since they had already determined that the young dragon would exhaust himself after using his Dragon Breath.

Unfortunately, they had not expected Merlin to appear.

"All forces, attack!"

Varaxis suddenly raised his hand.

The Demon Knights immediately charged toward the defenders while the Warlocks began casting their curses once again. Even the Imps that had been scattered by Whisperer’s flames rushed toward the shelter, hoping to create enough chaos for their Generals to escape.

The defenders immediately raised their weapons.

"Don’t let them reach the shelter!"

"Fire!"

The turrets opened fire while the Super Soldiers raised their rifles. Warden Units charged forward, and the priests began preparing their spells.

However, Merlin simply remained in the air.

He wasn’t looking at the Demon army. His attention was still focused on Varaxis.

Then, the Demon General suddenly disappeared.

BOOM!

Varaxis appeared directly in front of Merlin, his fist covered in Abyssal energy as he attacked the old mage’s head!

Merlin calmly raised one hand and a small flame appeared on his palm.

The next moment, the flame suddenly expanded into a massive wall of fire.

BOOOOM!

Varaxis was immediately blasted backward.

Thud!

The Demon General crashed into the ground and rolled several meters before finally stopping.

The defenders were stunned. Merlin had only used a simple fire spell!

Yet, the attack had actually sent a Demon General flying.

Varaxis immediately stood up and realized that his body was covered in burns. He was supposed to be resistant to fire!

"What kind of magic is that?"

Merlin looked at him calmly.

"Fire magic."

Varaxis’s expression twitched.

Of course, he knew that it was fire magic. What he couldn’t understand was how a simple spell could be powerful enough to injure him. It was definitely not Holy Fire, so he was confused!

Merlin raised his hand again.

This time, lightning gathered around his body.

The sky above the Mist Shelter suddenly darkened.

Crack!

A powerful bolt of lightning descended from above and struck Varaxis.

BOOM!

The Demon General immediately raised his arms and formed a dark barrier.

However, the lightning continued to strike.

Crack!

The barrier began to break.

Varaxis’s eyes widened.

"This is impossible!"

BOOM!

The barrier shattered and the lightning struck Varaxis directly! Just like that, his entire body was engulfed by the attack.

"ARGHH!"

His scream echoed across the battlefield, and when the lightning finally disappeared, Varaxis fell heavily to the ground.

The Demon General was dead.

Everyone who had participated immediately got a series of notifications filling their vision for a brief moment.

The defenders could hardly believe what they had just witnessed.

Draveth had required the combined efforts of the entire Mist Shelter to defeat, but Merlin had killed Varaxis in only a few attacks.

Maltheris finally understood that he could not fight this old mage.

"Retreat!"

The remaining Demons immediately looked toward their General.

"Everyone, retreat!"

Maltheris didn’t care about the army anymore. He only wanted to survive.

The Demon Knights immediately began retreating while the Warlocks used their spells to cover Maltheris’s escape. Unfortunately, the defenders quickly realized what was happening.

"Don’t let them escape!"

The Warden Units charged forward while the turrets continued firing at the retreating Demons.

Maltheris immediately ordered the remaining Demons to stop the defenders.

"Protect me!"

The Demon army rushed toward Merlin.

Merlin looked at the incoming army and sighed.

"You are making this more troublesome than it needs to be."

He raised one hand.

A powerful wind suddenly swept across the battlefield.

The Imps were lifted into the air, while the Demon Knights were forced backward. The Warlocks struggled to maintain their spells as the wind grew stronger, and soon, the entire battlefield was filled with a powerful storm.

The Demons were unable to approach Merlin at all...

The old mage then turned his attention toward Maltheris.

The Demon General was already close to the dimensional scar!

"Not so fast."

Merlin muttered as he looked at the black stone in his hands before he disappeared. If Shane was here, he would realize that it was the Black Crystal of Life! An item containing the Mysteries of the Realm Lord’s hidden will.

Maltheris suddenly froze.

Before he could react, Merlin appeared directly behind him and grabbed the back of his cloak.

"What?!"

Maltheris immediately released his Abyssal energy and tried to break free, but Merlin’s hand didn’t move.

The old mage simply pulled him backward.

"No!"
