Raze’s crimson hair streamed behind her as Roan carried her through the burning skies.
The crowned Dark Elf’s words... still echoed, but she only sneered.
"Roan will never belong to you," she said coldly, "We’ll even burn your arrogance to ash."
The three Dark Elves were no ordinary foes.
Still, Raze was confident that she could deal with them.
She had fought against Vampire Kings and Zombie Kings before, and she could tell that they were all emitting a similar aura.
These elves were strong but definitely not something she should be afraid of.
Nonetheless, she noticed their staffs emit a strong aura of corrupted mana.
Soon, she watched them create spells that warped the air.
The crowned elf raised his weapon, summoning sharp spears that were made of shadow that shot upward toward Roan.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
The other two spread their arms wide, chanting in unison.
From the ground, black roots erupted... Soon, they writhed and started twisting like serpents, trying to bind the dragon’s wings!
"Dark Elves use Dark Magic as expected... Sir Merlin’s warning is right." Raze muttered as she recalled the old mage’s advice.
Well, it was also the reason why she was sent here!
Roan then roared, flames spilling from his maw, incinerating the roots before they could tighten. Raze lifted her dragon bone sword, its runes glowing scarlet.
She whispered an incantation, channeling her aura into Roan.
Then, Roan’s scales flared brighter with his wings surging with power.
"Dragon Knight’s Bond... Ascension!"
The dragon’s strength doubled and just like that, his fire became hotter...
Rooaaar!
Roan dove, scattering the shadow spears with a sweep of his wings! The dragon didn’t even flinch from this attack!
The elves retaliated fiercely.
One conjured a storm of black lightning, bolts crackling across the sky.
Another summoned dragonoids!
They were beasts with red eyes that clawed their way into the battlefield.
Raze paused for a moment as she saw this happen.
Still, she couldn’t think too much of it.
The crowned elf himself unleashed a wave of curses, trying to sap Roan’s vitality and weaken Raze’s armor.
Soon, the lightning struck Roan’s flank, searing his scales, but the dragon twisted midair, shaking off the pain!
Raze raised her sword, absorbing the curse into her armor’s runes, then redirected the energy back!
Boom!
The blast shattered one of the dragonoids, with its body collapsing into ash!
The second elf pressed panicked a little as he hurriedly weaved illusions to confuse Roan!
For a moment, the dragon saw phantom copies of himself!
They were twisted and corrupted, circling in the sky.
But Raze’s bond with Roan cut through the deception!
This was one of the benefits of having a rider!
Soon, she struck her sword into the sky, releasing a shockwave of flame that burned away the illusions!
Whom~
Roan dove once again, smashing into the ridge with his claws.
The impact sent the second elf off to the ground. Even his staff is cracking under the force. Before he could rise, Raze was upon him!
She already left Roan to do his thing while her blade cleaved through this elf’s chest!
Thud!
The crowned elf snarled, his crown glowing with sinister light.
He raised his staff, summoning a dome of shadow to shield himself.
However, Raze just charged with her sword igniting with Dragon’s Fire!
Then, she activated the Sword’s special skill!
"Dragon Fang Strike!"
She descended with a blazing slash with her blade, smashing through the dome!
Bam!
The crowned elf staggered...
He tried to counter by throwing some curses and shadow chains, but Raze’s sword cleaved through them like smoke.
Still, Raze actually escaped the vicinity!
The elf was confused at first, but soon, he realized what was going on!
Rooar!
Roan roared overhead, unleashing a torrent of flame that engulfed the summoned creatures and the elves...
Their screams echoed as their bodies burned!
Soon, the crowned elf fell to his knees... his crown was already on the verge of breaking.
Still, he tried one last desperate spell.
He raised his broken staff, chanting in a guttural tongue, calling for more dragonoids.
A portal tried to appear, but Roan’s fire consumed it before anything could emerge!
The elf’s eyes widened in horror as his final hope was destroyed.
Raze stood over him and spat...
"You thought you could claim Roan? You couldn’t even claim your own fate."
With a final thrust, she drove her blade into his chest. The crown shattered, his body consumed by fire.
[ You have eliminated a Dark Elf. ]
Silence fell.
The place was littered with charred corpses, and the stench of burnt flesh was still present.
Raze looked down at the fallen commanders, her lip curling in disdain.
"Pathetic," she muttered. Then she spat at their remains.
Climbing back onto Roan, she rose into the sky. The fortress was in the distance, battered but still standing. The Dark Elf commanders were dead, and so, the remaining Dragon Army scattered...

Under the vast dome of the greenhouse at Blue Haven Shelter, the air was filled with mana.
The World Tree, planted by Shane himself, rose proudly at the center, its branches glowing faintly with silver‑green light.
In this shelter, ships docked at the port outside with their masts swaying gently, but within the greenhouse, there was only silence and reverence.
Six elves sat cross‑legged beneath the tree, their eyes closed, their breathing steady.
These were not ordinary elves... they were the ones summoned through Shane’s Elite Elf Recruitment Stones, warriors and mystics bound by ancient traditions.
Their leader, Mystra, had departed to Eden Island some time ago, leaving Covinem to guide them here. As for the Legendary Elves, they wouldn’t really bother them.
For hours they meditated, their minds attuned to the pulse of the World Tree.
Its roots carried traces of the land and its leaves glowed with fragments of forgotten songs.
The elves drew strength from it, their bodies glowing faintly with mana as they communed with its essence.
Finally, when they were certain no one was watching, one elf opened his eyes.
His voice was low, almost reverent.
"The Fairy Queen... she’s finally awake."
Another elf’s eyes opened and nodded. There was a hint of excitement in it!
"I wonder when she will order us to take over this land."
A third elf, younger but no less devoted, nodded. "I’m sure she has a plan. She always does."
Covinem remained silent for a moment, his gaze fixed on the World Tree’s trunk.
Then he spoke with a calm voice...
"Do not forget... Shane may be our master in this world, but our loyalty lies with the Queen. She blessed him, yes, but only for convenience. He is a tool, nothing more."
The elves murmured in agreement.
They respected Shane’s strength, his vision, and the shelters he had built. But deep within their hearts, their devotion was reserved for the Fairy Queen.
She was the one who had given them purpose, the one who had bound their souls to the World Trees.
One elf leaned closer, whispering as if the branches themselves might overhear.
"The Queen’s awakening means the time is near. These shelters, these fortresses... they will all serve her design."
Another elf clenched his fist.
"Shane believes he is building a future for humanity. But we know the truth. The Queen will use his work to claim dominion over this continent."
Covinem nodded. Without a doubt, Covinem knew more than that...
"And when she commands, we will obey. Whether it is to guard, to conquer, or to purge, our blades will be hers."
The World Tree shimmered, its leaves trembling as if stirred by unseen winds.
The elves fell silent again, listening.
They believed the Queen’s will flowed through these trees, guiding them even across realms.
One elf finally broke the silence. "Do you think Shane suspects?"
Covinem shook his head. "No. He trusts us. He thinks our loyalty is his. That is his weakness. He does not understand that the Queen’s blessing is never given freely. It is always a chain."
The elves exchanged glances...
They had fought beside Shane’s forces, defended his shelters, and bled for his cause. Yet in their hearts, they waited for the day when the Fairy Queen’s true command would come.
The youngest elf whispered...
"When she rises fully, the world itself will bend. Humans, vampires, dragons... all will kneel."
Just imagining it made everyone excited!
Covinem placed a hand on the World Tree’s bark...
"Until then, we’ll wait. We serve Shane because the Queen wills it. But when her voice calls, we will turn. And no one can stop us..."
The six elves closed their eyes once more, returning to meditation. Right now, they could only wait for further instructions.
The greenhouse was silent again, save for the faint hum of mana flowing through the World Tree.
Outside, Blue Haven bustled with ships and trade, unaware of the quiet conspiracy beneath its roots.
