The final day of an event arrived with the descent of three Vampire Lords and three Dragonkin Elders. They gathered to attack a single shelter, employing a coordinated strategy. The zombies were sent first as cannon fodder to weaken defenses and trigger traps, followed by vampire forces. The Dragonkin planned to capture elves alive while their wyverns, salamanders, and the Flood Dragon attacked. The Vampire Lords aimed to weaken the fortress barrier before descending on the leaders. The defenders, having overheard the plan, detonated numerous bombs, eliminating many zombies, before deploying powerful Trident Mechs. However, the Flood Dragon then unleashed a catastrophic tsunami.

A colossal surge of seawater, dwarfing the fortress walls, hurtled forward!

What’s more, it wasn’t merely water, but tainted mana!

Though not immediately apparent, Elves discerned its thick corruption and venom, reeking of death.

The bellow of the Flood Dragon accompanied the tsunami’s thunderous descent upon the defenders!

The earth convulsed. The Trident Mechs stood firm, their metallic bodies gleaming under the floodlights, yet even they swayed as the massive wave collided with the fortress.

For a fleeting moment, annihilation seemed inevitable.

However, the Fortress’s Barrier expanded, enveloping those outside its walls!

Then, after shielding the defenders and repelling the wave, the barrier pulsed, crackling with arcs of lightning!

It was performing its previous function!

As the tsunami smashed against it, the water didn’t simply break through! It was cleaved, diverted, and vaporized into billowing clouds of steam.

Furthermore, the corrupted mana within the flood reacted ferociously to the barrier’s power! This resulted in a deafening spectacle of light and sound.

Boom! Crackle!

The impact reverberated across the battlefield.

A haze of steam and lightning filled the atmosphere, disorienting both attackers and defenders.

The tainted water was atomized, falling as sizzling droplets that seared the ground…

Utter chaos ensued…

Zombies caught in the onslaught were disintegrated, their forms dissolving under the barrier’s potent energy. Even Vampires who failed to ascend in time shrieked as the force struck them, their formations buckling. The wyverns in the sky faltered, their wings scorched by errant lightning bolts.

The Vampire Lords were far from pleased…

"What is this?!" one bellowed, conjuring a shield of blood.

"That wave… and the barrier… it’s more potent than before! How did it not crumble?!" another hissed.

"This is outrageous! Our cannon fodder is being squandered!" the third roared…

The Dragonkin Elders were equally incensed.

One growled, its scales seemingly vibrating with fury.

"That barrier was supposed to shatter under the Flood Dragon's corruption! Instead, it inflicted more damage upon us…"

Another Elder expelled flames into the sky.

"Our wyverns are falling, our Salamanders are immolated by the backlash! That Flood Dragon… why was it so eager to employ that technique?"

The battlefield devolved into disarray. The intended drowning of the fortress by the tsunami had backfired catastrophically… crippling the attackers’ vanguard instead.

Corpses drifted in steaming pools, wyverns plummeted into the mire, and vampires struggled to regroup.

Within the fortress, the defenders erupted in cheers.

The Trident Mechs elevated their armaments, their metallic exteriors alight as the barrier’s lightning coursed over them.

"An unexpected reinforcement," Shane murmured, clenching his fists…

"Hold the line! The Flood Dragon's wrath is impotent against our barrier!" Tris proclaimed…

He felt assured that the quantity of Cores they had acquired would sustain them for at least three more days of this ongoing event.

Given that it was the final day, his apprehension had vanished entirely!

Concurrently, Mystra’s eyes sparkled as she observed the dissipating corrupted water.

"This barrier is no mere defense, Shane… You should seriously consider acquiring one… I’m certain you could purchase it from them…" she whispered beside Shane.

Shane appeared genuinely taken aback by her suggestion.

"Hey… I think you’re the one with the interest here. Regardless, I’ll inquire with Tris about it once this event concludes. I’m confident he’ll look favorably upon it, considering our crucial role in the defense." He responded.

Meanwhile, high above the din of battle, a figure seemingly hovered in mid-air…

At first sight, he presented as an elf…

He was tall and possessed an elegant bearing, with lengthy silver hair cascading like liquid moonlight.

Yet, his very presence was ethereal; his form, semi-translucent, as if woven from spirit and mana.

Despite this, he was undeniably alive. His eyes seemed to mirror both profound sorrow and immense awe.

"So, he has arrived… The Fairy Queen’s chosen…" he uttered.

He existed not fully mortal nor fully divine, but in a liminal state… akin to a guardian spirit intrinsically linked to elven lineages.

He observed in silence as the fortress withstood the onslaught of three distinct armies.

Below, the zombies advanced relentlessly, marshaled by their respective Kings.

Spitter Kings unleashed corrosive acid that tore through the stone ramparts, Juggernaut Kings hurled massive boulders with formidable strength, Fire Kings enveloped themselves in roaring flames, and specialized variants like Hunters, Lickers, Lurkers, Butchers, and Stalkers, scuttled and sprung with terrifying agility.

Following in their wake, the vampires advanced in disciplined formations. Thralls comprised the vanguard, serving as expendable pawns. Low-Tier Vampires also flanked them, contributing to the assault.

The sight of the Vampire Knights, clad in their darkened armor, presented a terrifying spectacle given their sheer numbers…

Above them, Elder Vampires swirled with ominous blood magic, causing a flicker of concern for the Fairy Queen’s champion.

"How will they possibly achieve victory?" he wondered aloud.

From both the heavens and the earth, a dragon army emerged. Wyverns carved circles in the sky, while Salamanders slithered in unison with Dragonoids marching in formation… Then, lumbering from the rear, the colossal Flood Dragon became visible…

The spirit-elf’s gaze settled upon the defenders, and he quickly perceived their utter lack of apprehension…

Then, a tsunami of an event occurred, and he soon understood the source of their unwavering confidence…

He observed the turrets lining the battlements unleash thunderous volleys, sending mana-charged bolts into the amassed vampire ranks.

Elder Vampires attempted to erect defenses, but the powerful blasts relentlessly tore through their protective enchantments.

Archers stood arrayed along the ramparts, loosing volleys of arrows tipped with potent elemental crystals.

Arrows imbued with fire incinerated Thralls, frost-laden arrows encased Hunters in ice, and lightning-infused projectiles shattered the shields of the Vampire Knights.

From within the confines of the fortress, the defenders hurled explosive devices…

There were Explosive Fire Bombs, chilling Cryo-Charges, and noxious Venom Bombs. Each detonation ripped through clusters of undead, reducing their forms to ash and scattered remains.

The spirit-elf offered a nod of approval. "Their combat prowess is remarkable… Even their kings are not beyond reach."

Indeed, he witnessed a Juggernaut King falter as a Graviton Imploder maneuver compressed its immense structure, while a Fire King’s inferno was extinguished by a targeted Cryo-Stasis blast.

His attention then shifted to the titans of the battlefield… the formidable quintet of Trident Mechs.

Towering over the fray, they advanced in a coordinated formation, their metallic bodies enduring the onslaught of lightning that danced across their armor near the barrier.

Their armaments were truly awe-inspiring…

One mech’s gargantuan blade sliced through Dragonoids, while another launched explosive javelins that detonated amidst the circling wyverns…

Collectively, they focused their formidable power upon the Flood Dragon…

The spirit-elf’s eyes widened in astonishment as he viewed the ensuing engagement.

"Even within the Fairy Realm, dragons are not foes easily dispatched by conventional weaponry… Yet, these constructs of metal are performing admirably…"

The Flood Dragon unleashed torrents of corrupted water, but the mechs stood their ground, bracing against the assault…

Their cannons fired in unison, puncturing the dragon’s hardened scales, while one mech seized its massive form, driving a mana-infused spear directly into its chest.

A roar of agony erupted from the dragon… It thrashed violently, but the mechs maintained their unyielding grip.

However, it was not solely the mechanical marvels that captured his attention.

Among the defenders, several key individuals fought with the ferocity of unstoppable entities.

He observed a swordsman cleave a Vampire Knight in twain with a singular, decisive stroke, his blade shimmering with radiant holy light.

A super-soldier, encased in the advanced Tactical Sentinel IV exosuit, launched into the air, intercepting a wyvern in mid-flight and driving it violently into the earth.

Another warrior hurled projectiles with unerring accuracy, striking a Zombie King directly and reducing it to smoldering ash.

"These mortals…" the spirit-elf whispered, his voice filled with wonder. "They fight as if divinely touched."

But then, the tide of the battle began to turn.

The Vampire Lords initiated their advance. Hovering above, they raised their hands, and a pervasive crimson energy began to radiate outwards…

With an audible hiss, their physical forms dissolved into streams of blood, flowing like liquid through the very air.

The spirit-elf’s eyes narrowed in understanding. "Blood transformation… They intend to bypass the barrier."

As anticipated, the crimson streams infiltrated the fortress through microscopic fissures in the barrier, slithering inwards. Within moments, defenders cried out in agony as their bodies convulsed… the Vampire Lords had achieved possession, transforming the soldiers into unwitting puppets.

Utter chaos erupted within the fortress walls.

Yet, the fortress had prepared for such a contingency. From the command nexus, sacred talismans were raised!

Holy seals, intricately inscribed with potent runes!

The talismans pulsed with light, emitting waves of sacred energy!

Then, the spirit-elf heard them…

"Haha! Excellent work, Natalie! Your Sacred Talisman is proving most effective!"

"Perfect! Annihilate the Vampire Lords!"

It became apparent that the woman named Natalie was the architect of these powerful holy emanations…

The possessed defenders shrieked as the Vampire Lords were violently ejected from their hosts!

Their blood forms were expelled with explosive force.

The spirit-elf’s eyes widened further in sheer awe. "Holy spells… they truly are effective…"

The expelled Vampire Lords wavered precariously in the air, their spectral forms visibly weakening.

"Impossible!" one shrieked. "Our blood magic being suppressed by mere talismans?!" Another Vampire Lord struggled to comprehend the turn of events. Simultaneously, he began a hasty retreat as the holy radiance seared through his cloak.

Meanwhile, the Dragonkin Elders observed the battle turning decisively against their forces.

Their wyverns lay in disarray, Salamanders were reduced to cinders, Dragonoids lay shattered, and the Flood Dragon bore grievous wounds inflicted by the mechs' relentless assault.

One Elder, consumed by frustration, declared…

"This fortress… its defenses surpass our calculations."

"We cannot achieve victory. Order a full retreat!"
