Fiona spotted a suspicious bat near the Portal Hall, possibly linked to the defeated Vampire Lord, and tracked it with her rat swarm until it flew out over the sea. She chose to monitor quietly without alerting others. Meanwhile, Shane arrived disguised at the fortified Ruby Gear Shelter to hunt Alexander and his officers for their betrayal of Roan. He swiftly located their hideout, infiltrated using Shadow Step, and subdued the group of six with Aura Suppression and Spirit Shackles.

Shane commanded dozens of Skills at this point... Yet, Aura Suppression and Spirit Shackles stood out as powers perfectly suited to catch several foes off guard.

[ Aura Suppression Lv10: Temporarily weakens the energy flow around enemies, reducing their combat effectiveness.

Effects:

Lowers enemy buffs by 30% within 20 meters.

Reduces enemy Spirit Recovery by 25% while inside the zone.

Duration: 10 seconds.

Cost: 60 Spirit Points ]

[ Spirit Shackles Lv10: Bind the target with spectral chains, restricting movement and draining energy.

Effects:

Slows target by 50% for 30 seconds.

Drains 15 Spirit Points per second from the target while shackled.

If the target’s Spirit Points reach zero, they are stunned for 2 seconds.

Cost: 15 Spirit Points per second ]

"You..."

The chamber went still as Shane materialized right in the midst of Alexander’s officers.

His Shadow Step Lv10 evaded their barrier entirely, and prior to any response, Aura Suppression Lv10 along with Spirit Shackles Lv10 bore down upon them. Shock was utterly unavoidable!

Spectral chains of energy coiled around their arms and legs, hampering their motions while siphoning their Spirit Points.

Despite their array of defensive gear, the suppression field left them all debilitated.

Alexander’s eyes bulged wide. "Shane!"

He instantly knew those eyes!

Lightning soon crackled around his palms. Even lacking his Legendary Spear, Alexander’s innate talent rendered him a grave threat. His officers scrambled to shatter their bonds, igniting their personal Survivor Skills.

This moment saw Shane deploy his cloak...

The Mantle of the Undying Storm!

This ranked among the Legendary treasures he claimed upon hitting Level 60 in the Zombie Challenge Event!

[ Mantle of the Undying Storm ( Legendary ): A cloak imbued with the essence of storms, it symbolizes mastery over the chaotic battles. This versatile piece of equipment offers incredible defense.

Effects:

Storm’s Barrier, Eye of the Storm, Tempest Resurgence

Soulbound Item: This item can only be used by Shane. ]

Storm’s Barrier instantly erected a lightning shield encircling him. Electrical sparks leaped through the room, repelling the initial assault wave.

One officer shifted into a massive brute and lunged with a blade, yet Shane proved swifter.

Afterimage Burst Lv5 spawned a shadow clone where he stood.

[ Afterimage Burst Lv5: Create a shadow afterimage that detonates upon impact, disrupting enemies caught in its radius.

Effects:

Leaves behind an afterimage that explodes after 1 second.

Deals light shadow damage in a 3-meter radius.

Cost: 20 Spirit Points ]

The officer slashed the clone, triggering its explosion that hurled him backward amid erupting shadow energy!

Boom!

Another officer attempted to circle around, but Shane blinked away, emerging at his rear.

Silent Execution Lv5 activated!

[ Silent Execution Lv5: A precision strike designed for assassinations, dealing bonus damage when attacking from stealth or behind.

Effects:

Deals +20% bonus damage when striking from behind.

Ignores 15% of enemy defense if used while undetected.

Cost: 25 Spirit Points ]

Shane’s blow sliced profoundly, bypassing defenses!

In an instant, the man crumpled lifelessly!

Alexander bellowed, summoning a torrent of lightning.

"Die, you bastard!

His Thunder Palm erupted room-wide, paralyzing not just Shane but his own comrades too!

Nevertheless, Shane either absorbed or evaded the blast via the Mantle’s Eye of the Storm. The cloak almost seemed to guide him, scattering the force without harm.

"You’re strong," Shane uttered icily, "but not strong enough."

Next, he laced his blade with Venom Infusion Lv10.

[ Venom Infusion Lv10: Coat weapons with corrosive venom, adding poison damage to attacks for a short duration.

Effects:

Attacks deal an additional 300 poison damage per hit.

Venom lasts for 60 seconds or 10 successful strikes.

Cost: 20 Spirit Points ]

Naturally, Shane’s weapon already brimmed with might.

It was the Gale Blade looted from the Winged Zombie Lord...

With venom layered on, Shane turned even deadlier!

Every swing now carried searing poison capable of melting armor.

Right then, he carved into yet another officer!

"Aaaacckk!"

It unfolded in a flash!

The venom gnawed at his flesh, sapping his vitality!

Alexander’s remaining four officers rallied.

They unleashed a barrage of synchronized strikes—lightning arcs, slashing blades, and shielding barriers.

But Shane’s Phantom Instinct talent honed his awareness, picking up every motion and air current shift!

[ Phantom Instinct (Epic Talent): The Survivor’s senses and instincts blur the line between reality and illusion. Grants heightened perception of sound and movement, allowing detection of hidden threats within a 50-meter radius. Low-Tier and Mid-Tier Zombies reduces their aggression slightly.

Passive Effect: Resting recovery rate boosted by 15%.

Active Ability – "Phantom Mirage": Generates a short-lived illusory duplicate of the Survivor up to 10 meters away. Foes get lured to strike or head toward the illusion for 6 seconds. (Cooldown: 5 minutes) ]

With that, Shane effortlessly dodged aside, struck back, and followed up with another blow!

Nearly simultaneously, he triggered Phantom Mirage, spawning a deceptive duplicate...

"Ha!"

"Die!"

Suddenly, two officers materialized from thin air and lunged at the fake image, squandering their abilities!

Poof!

"What—"

Shane materialized right behind them, unleashing Lightning Surge Lv10—a focused burst that ripped through the pair! He had looted this Skill after slaying those Lancelot officers earlier.

"Curse you!" Alexander bellowed, watching his comrades perish right before his eyes...

"Curse? Too bad... That won’t work on me. You can try..." Shane shot back, fully aware of his skills and talismans that blocked Curses.

Alexander brushed him off and surged ahead, his form enveloped in crackling lightning.

Next, he invoked his mightiest technique, Tempest Form Lv10, unleashing a raging storm that crammed the room with electric bolts!

Yet Shane held his ground unmoved.

His Mantle’s Tempest Resurgence soaked up the tempest, transforming the harm into Spirit restoration!

In that instant, the lightning arcs flickered futilely over his armor!

"You think lightning will save you?" Shane murmured.

He had donned this mantle precisely for this moment... He knew Alexander’s lightning powers represented his core might!

With that, Shane countered with Stormbreaker Lv10, clashing against Alexander’s assault.

The storm collision rattled the entire structure!

Before long, walls began to fracture and windows shattered completely!

Boom!

Alexander quickly grasped he was at a severe disadvantage!

His tempest crumbled while Shane seized the upper hand.

But the moment he lunged to strike, the surviving officers moved to block him!

He repelled them using a poison-laced blade along with various Survivor Skills!

Each ability flowed seamlessly into the next, overpowering them utterly!

One officer attempted to flee, yet Shane’s Spirit Shackles Lv10 yanked him back, siphoning his Spirit until he crumpled in a stun.

Shane ended him with one swift cut.

Another officer erected a shield, but Shane’s Aura Suppression Lv10 shattered its strength right away.

Then he executed Armored Dash, smashing through the frail barrier, and just like that, the foe dropped.

By now, the duel between Tempest Form and Stormbreaker had concluded!

Alexander alone endured, his lightning flickering feebly around him. He gasped for breath, his Spirit Points almost depleted.

"You... you won’t get away with this," Alexander snarled.

Shane’s gaze sharpened. "You already lost when you touched Roan."

With that, he stopped paying attention...

He triggered Silent Execution Lv10, slashing from the rear as Alexander fumbled for a Talisman...

But Shane struck with blinding speed...

The blade plunged deep, bypassing all defenses.

Poison scorched through his veins, and at last, Alexander perished...

[ You have eliminated a Human Survivor. ]

Alexander slumped to his knees.

Shane felt no contentment... He lifted his weapon, lightning coiling around him once more.

"Your clan ends here."

He released Lightning Surge Lv10, delivering one last devastating blast.

It hammered Alexander squarely, incinerating him...

Within moments, the room plunged into dead silence. The officers lay slain, and Alexander had vanished.

Shane grinned...

He showed no signs of fatigue...

That stemmed from his Top Challenger title’s effect...

It granted him Durable Spirit, maintaining his stamina firm amid the extended fight. Plus, his minor injuries healed rapidly courtesy of Fast Regeneration Lv10...

He surveyed the wreckage. The house lay half-destroyed, walls charred, corpses strewn about. Yet no bystanders suffered harm. His attacks had landed with pinpoint accuracy, just as intended.

Shane tugged his scarf snug, melting back into the gloom. "Mission complete."

Zamora, Ruby Gear Shelter’s Commander, lingered outside the devastated house as news of the uproar rippled through the streets.

Survivors fled in panic, prompting guards to cordon off the area while officers checked for civilian casualties.

Minutes later, reports flooded in. Multiple Foreign Survivors confirmed dead within.

Zamora’s brow furrowed, sensing the attacker was far from ordinary.

"Powerful foes... from beyond," he grumbled. It fit perfectly. Ruby Gear Shelter had endured plenty of brawls, but devastation like this was exceptional.

Even so, Zamora stayed pragmatic. The fallen meant little to him. Foreign Survivors drifted in and out, often dragging chaos along.

The key was the shelter standing strong, with no civilians hurt. That fell under his watch.

His gaze swept over the debris once more. Priceless loot was strewn across the ground... weapons, equipment, and cores. "Compensation for the hassle," he mused to himself. Should outsiders choose to clash in this spot, their possessions would pay the price.

Suddenly, Zamora caught sight of a shadow slipping away from the edge of his vision. Pursuit held no appeal for him. Provided no bystanders suffered harm, he'd permit its escape.

"Don't stir up more chaos here..." he pondered, wheeling around to reinforce the shelter.
