Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle Chapter 1120 1120: The Solution
Previously on Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle...
A few hours afterward, they at last arrived at the Eclipse Domain.
Naturally, the Survivors within had long been informed of their plight…
The moment their silhouettes appeared, the gates swung wide open, with Warden Units hurrying forward to lend aid.
In this manner, Alora was borne into the domain. Though her form quivered and felt frail, all held faith that she would endure this calamity!
After all, Anna along with numerous other healers, elves included, stood ready and waiting!
Anna dashed straight to Alora's side, inspecting the injury while pondering the best course of treatment…
"The serum worked… but the infection lingers within her," Anna declared somberly. "It's not eradicated. It's… contained."
Beatrice's complexion drained of color. "Contained?"
Anna gave a nod. "Her antibodies from the Aegis Serum battle on, and the injectors have diminished the virus. Yet this remains a Lord‑tier infection. I suspect it's evolving. She hasn't transformed… but neither is she healed."
Alora's eyes fluttered open upon hearing her status...
Her tone was feeble, yet she sought to soothe the group.
"It's fine… Even if I can't be cured. Don't blame yourselves…" Alora uttered.
Still, Anna shook her head firmly.
"Don't worry. I will cure you, okay? Tell me about your condition," she pressed right away.
Alora hesitated briefly, then mustered her resolve and responded.
"I can feel it," she murmured. "It's inside me… but it's not controlling me. Not yet. But it's already clouding my mind."
Anna fixed her with a keen gaze. This proved vital intelligence…
For it starkly differed from the details she knew about Zombie transformation.
Typically, victims first craved thirst without relief from water. Soon, their minds flooded with an insatiable urge to devour… specifically, the hunger for human flesh!
Anna couldn't suppress memories of the records she'd reviewed. "Wait… Alora… Maybe you can try to control this."
Alora's lips quivered at Anna's suggestion. 'Control?'
Noticing Alora's intent stare, Anna elaborated swiftly as they conveyed her onward.
"You possess both the perfected Aegis Serum and the Dragon's Veil Elixir in your veins… You're far from frail. Though the Zombie Lord's virus surpasses anything we've faced, you must resist! Master your body… That virus could be the Lord's Toxic Energy or perhaps the arcane force of Zombification seeking to claim you. Don't surrender… I will support you!"
Alora's breaths grew a touch more even, despite the subtle black streaks pulsing in her veins.
She shut her eyes, concentrating on the alien force surging through her.
"I'll try," she breathed. "If it's inside me… then I'll fight it from within."
Silence enveloped the chamber. Beatrice and the rest traded worried looks.
This notion was unprecedented… Defying zombification independently, maybe even taming it, lay beyond prior imagination.
Yet if any could dare it, Alora Virellan, the princess who'd cheated death before, stood the best chance.
Anna rested a hand on Alora's shoulder and murmured gently…
"Then let's begin. You're not alone in this."
***
Alora lost track of her surroundings entirely…
Her awareness dimmed as her mind dove inward, pouring every ounce of power into her Aura.
She clashed head-on with the infection, directing her energy to repel the enigmatic power ravaging her veins.
Yet victory proved elusive, sweat streaming down her brow… Even so, she stood unyielding!
Anna labored without pause at her side.
She dispensed potions, blended antidotes, and administered stabilizers, her hands kept moving as she recognized Alora's will alone wouldn't suffice!
Every few minutes, she monitored Alora's pulse, breaths, and Aura shifts.
The indicators fluctuated wildly, the infection mutating swifter than ever witnessed.
Before long, elven healers lent their aid, assessing her state…
After mere instants, their palms radiated mana as they laid hands on Alora's form.
"Bless her!"
Strands of luminescence flowed into her, stalling the zombification. Briefly, the dark veins withdrew, though the elves paled with effort.
Their mana proved finite. They could delay the onslaught only briefly.
Anna gritted her teeth, frustration boiling within…
She'd exhausted her entire stock of potions and serums. None sufficed. The Lord‑tier virus persisted relentlessly, shifting, warping, and evolving in Alora's bloodstream.
'Shane… What should I do?'
Desperation gripped Anna…
Was awaiting her internal victory the sole path? What if Alora faltered?
Minutes dragged into hours. The medical chamber echoed with labored gasps, invocations, and subtle mana hums.
Anna's hands trembled as she grasped yet another vial, another brew, another frantic measure. Yet inwardly, hope ebbed away.
Her gaze swept the racks, hunting for any salvation…
She grasped a holder of capsule pills, fingers grazing the sleek exterior while weighing if painkillers would help Alora.
Suddenly, she halted.
"Wait… capsule?" she whispered.
Thoughts whirled. Capsule… Vital Capsule.
Anna's eyes flew wide as recollection hit.
The Vital Capsule from Blue Haven Shelter.
She'd pored over reports and blueprints supplied by Cloud.
Unlike New Genesis Shelter's CryoChambers for suspending Hybrid Humans, the Vital Capsule focused solely on restoration.
Tundra had unearthed it, with A.I. Cloud refining it into a wondrous healing marvel.
Untested against Zombie Lord infection, yet Anna sensed Cloud's enhancements elevated it further!
"We need to transport her to Blue Haven Shelter quickly!" Anna cried, urgency surging in her tone.
The fellow healers gaped in bewilderment, yet none challenged her command.
Her genius had shone before. They complied without delay.
Alora's bed rolled ahead, wheels shrieking over the ground.
Beatrice and the onlookers beyond the hospital beheld the uproar, eyes bulging in alarm…
"What's happening? Where are you taking her?" Beatrice demanded.
Anna pressed on undeterred. "To the portal hall! We don't have time to explain!"
The team aligned behind, queries lost amid Anna's pressing command.
They barreled down hallways to the vast portal room.
The portal chamber hosted several figures…
Merchants mostly, bound for Springriver, New Genesis, or linked havens…
She spotted Drakeheart Vanguard Clan members too! Likely hauling raw oil for their Filtration Tower…
They gawked at the frenzy, but Anna ignored them utterly.
Stationed guards whirled in astonishment. Recognizing Anna instantly, one inquired swiftly.
"Is there anything we can help with? Which shelter?"
"We have a patient! Blue Haven Shelter quick!" Anna responded.
The guards sprang into action, clearing non-urgent survivors aside.
In moments, the portal ignited.
Swiftly, the party traversed, reality warping about them…
"Ugh…"
"Feels awful…"
The healers maneuvering Alora's bed reeled with vertigo…
Still, they materialized in Blue Haven Shelter.
Local guards stared in equal shock, but Anna brooked no delay.
"Vital Capsule chamber!" she snapped. "Now!"
The guards hustled, guiding them via shelter passages to a heavily secured room.
There, Anna beheld multiple Vital Capsules—gleaming cylindrical pods pulsing with soft blue radiance upon startup.
Nothing compared to it.
Crafted to hasten recovery, expel poisons, and steady dire wounds, it mended gashes needing weeks or months in mere minutes.
Crucially, Cloud's upgrade granted it prowess against malign energies!
No rival device matched this feat.
"This is it. This is what we need." Anna breathed.
Presently, the bed advanced, and Alora was tenderly placed within the capsule.
Her frame shuddered, yet she endured…
By now, all noted her veins darkening further… Fortunately, her Aura held firm, bolstered by Anna's elixirs and elven blessings…
Thud!
Thus, Alora rested inside as the chamber sealed with a hiss.
Azure glow enveloped the space, enshrouding Alora…
At once, the capsule's mechanisms whirred to life, systems probing her form and pinpointing the affliction.
Just then, viscous fluid flooded the pod!
"It's working…"
Anna murmured, eyes on the console displays.
The virus raged fiercely, but the capsule's power overwhelmed it! Gradually, the ebony streaks on Alora's flesh diminished.
Her respiration evened out…
"Vital Capsule… It's really working… Just what kind of technology is this?!"
