Ravene comforts the baby during a storm as Elize returns, drenched in blood and revealing she killed Ji Sheng and that Marzella was executed. Meanwhile, Brandon tells Rheanne he will sleep for 22 years, and they share an intimate moment before he enters his final sleep.

Present, the year 2051:

*swoosh*

Charlotte tore across the desert in a blur, and her feet just skimmed the sand yet left explosions in her path as the ground ruptured under every step while hot wind screamed past her ears.

Her yellow eyes burned violently as wild tears slipped down her cheeks without pause, cutting through the blood and dust clinging to her skin as her hair lashed behind her.

"KAEEEEELLLLL!!!"

Her voice cracked the air, carrying too much pain for something so small as a human throat to hold, and before the echo could fade, an enormous sand titan rose in her path.

"GRAARGH!" It roared and brought its fist down with overwhelming force.

Charlotte drove her hand forward and met it head-on.

*THOOM* The impact detonated.

A violent shockwave tore through the desert, and sand blasted outward in a massive ring as the titan’s arm shattered instantly, breaking apart into countless fragments before it could even complete the swing.

Charlotte’s body flashed upward as she landed against its chest, her fingers digging in before it could react.

With a broken scream, she tore its head off.

The creature’s body froze for a split second before collapsing into an explosion of sand and ether that scattered into the sky like ash.

She hit the ground and kept moving.

More aberrants surged toward her as they closed in from all sides.

She drove her fist straight through the chest of the first one that reached her, and her arm burst out from its back as the force shattered its entire torso.

Before it even collapsed, she ripped upward and split it apart, throwing the remains aside as another lunged in with a spear.

She caught it mid-thrust and her grip crushed the weapon, then snapped it in half and drove the broken end forward, piercing straight through the creature’s head with enough force to obliterate it.

"GIVE HIM BACK TO ME!!!"

Her voice shook as she moved faster and her body blurred as she tore through them.

Grabbing a massive aberrant by the leg, she swung it like a weapon, smashing it into others and crushing them instantly.

Her movements were growing more violent and uncontrolled, as if the rage inside her was breaking through everything else.

Her fists crushed anything they touched, and her kicks shattered bodies into dust,.

Tears kept falling through her face as she tore through the aberrants.

"I was supposed to protect you... I was supposed to be your big sister...!"

Her voice trembled as she tore another titan apart, her hands ripping through it while her vision blurred with tears.

"KAEL!!! WHERE ARE YOU?! COME BACK!!!"

Her scream broke at the end, and she staggered forward once.

*thud* Then dropped to her knees.

"Huff... Huff..." Her breath came out uneven, breaking apart in her throat as her shoulders trembled, while blood slowly dripped from her torn knuckles, staining the sand in dark, uneven drops.

There was nothing left inside her now, no rage, no strength, just a hollow, suffocating emptiness that spread through her chest and refused to let her breathe properly.

She lost him.

The time storm took him.

And she couldn’t do anything.

A broken sound escaped her lips as her fingers tightened in the sand.

"Kael... I’m sorry..." She lowered her head as strands of her hair fell over her face, hiding the way her expression completely fell apart.

"I was supposed to protect you..."

"Forgive me..."

---

Charlotte stepped out of the tower, and her movements were slow and unsteady as her boots dragged lightly across the ground.

Her body was still covered in dust and dried blood while fine grains of sand clung to her hair and skin.

Her chest rose and fell with a faint hitch as her gaze stayed unfocused.

Her fingers twitched faintly at her sides before curling slowly into loose fists.

"I... failed..."

It’s already been a week since Brandon went missing and she stil hasn’t found him.

"I couldn’t even protect him..."

She let out a weak, shaky breath, and her lips trembled faintly as her steps slowed even more.

"What’s the point of... anything..."

Her eyes dulled further, "...maybe I should just kill mysel-"

A sudden vibration broke through the silence.

It was her phone.

Her hand slowly moved, reaching into her pocket before pulling it out with numb fingers that didn’t feel like her own.

Her vision blurred slightly as she looked down at the screen.

There were several messages and calls from Elize.

She stared at them blankly, her thumb hovering weakly over the screen as if none of it mattered anymore.

Then another notification appeared.

From one of her team members and her eyes shifted slightly.

’Lady Charlotte, we found it.’

’We found who gave Lyysandra the stone. The one that sent you to Deadclock Spire.’

’It is the Empyrean Katrin Falkner.’ - [1]

Seeing the message, her pupils shrank.

Her hand tightened around the phone as her entire body went still.

The exhaustion that had been weighing her down just seconds ago snapped apart, and something dark and violent surged up from deep within her chest.

Her eyes trembled.

Pure, blinding rage flooded back in an instant, swallowing the emptiness whole as her breathing steadied.

Her grip cracked the screen slightly.

"...Katrin Falkner...?"

*swoosh*

She vanished.

The ground beneath her shattered as her body launched upward with a violent explosion of force, sending cracks racing across the ground.

Her figure shot into the sky as she dashed at high speed.

"I am coming to kill you... Katrin."

---

The evening was quiet and peaceful.

High up in a secluded mountain villa owned by Empyrean Katrin Falkner, steam rose gently from a luxurious open-air hot spring bath.

Katrin was completely naked, leaning back against the smooth stone edge of the pool.

Her long hair was piled up loosely on top of her head, a few strands clinging to her damp skin.

Her body was submerged up to her chest in the hot water, her full breasts partially visible above the surface as she let out a contented sigh.

"Haa... finally some peace," she murmured to herself.

She has no idea that death itself was coming for her at full speed.
