Brandon playfully teases Amelia about naming their future daughter Florence after a kiss in the rain. Amelia, flustered, runs off but he follows. They walk back together, her embarrassment slowly turning into shy acceptance of the name. Unable to climb the slippery castle walls, Amelia is carried by Brandon, who reveals his newfound ability to fly. They ascend above the storm clouds to witness a beautiful moonlit sky, a secret shared between them.

The lingering scent of rain permeated the night air as Brandon and Amelia descended, approaching the castle.

They landed with a soft thud upon the stone balcony of her private chambers.

The instant her feet met solid ground, Amelia released a trembling sigh of relief.

Her legs felt somewhat wobbly, a residual effect from the astonishing sensation of soaring high above the clouds.

She remained still for a moment, one hand still touching his chest for support, her blonde hair clinging damply to her cheeks and neck.

Water steadily dripped from both of them, pooling on the balcony's stone floor.

Brandon drew her slightly closer, his voice a low murmur, "Go and dry yourself quickly... don’t catch a cold."

A genuine concern resonated in his tone, and Amelia's heart skipped a beat at their proximity.

"Mhm," she nodded faintly, still trying to regain her composure after the whirlwind of events.

Before she could step away, Brandon lifted a hand, his thumb and forefinger gently pinching her lower lip.

"Also... what happened between us needs to remain a secret."

Amelia's gaze flickered involuntarily toward his lips for a fleeting second before snapping back to his eyes.

"I swear upon my name as Bleaufort... the secret will remain between us."

Brandon released her lip, a small smile gracing his features. "Good."

"I am leaving now."

Amelia nodded, yet neither moved.

With a gentle pinch to her cheek, Brandon finally turned towards the balcony's edge, preparing to ascend to his own room on the floor above.

Just as he was about to leap, Amelia's hand darted out, catching the sleeve of his sodden shirt.

"Wait..."

He paused, turning back to face her.

Amelia shyly lowered her gaze. "Again, thank you for tonight. I've never felt so... free."

Hearing this, his expression softened, and he reached up, brushing a damp strand of hair from her face with the back of his fingers.

"You don’t need to thank me, Amelia. I enjoyed every moment of it, too."

Her eyes widened, and a deep blush spread across her cheeks again. "Y-You damn Casanova."

Brandon let out a chuckle and leaned in slightly. "Oh, calling me a womanizer now?"

Amelia glanced away, a blush still coloring her cheeks. "You have a way with your words. I wonder how many maidens you've charmed with that sweet tongue of yours."

Brandon's chuckle deepened into a warm, hearty laugh. "Sweet tongue?" he grinned, clearly amused by her flustered state.

"You make it sound like I seduce half the kingdom."

She stole a glance at him from the corner of her eye. "Then why does it feel like you know precisely what to say to make a woman's heart race...? It’s unfair."

Looking at her, Brandon's expression softened once more. "Well, I simply speak the thoughts in my mind."

"And for the record... I've never flown anyone above the clouds just to show them the moon before. You're the first."

Amelia's heart fluttered with renewed intensity. "Really?"

Brandon nodded, gently placing his hand on her cheek. "Hmm."

She took a step closer, drawn by the warmth emanating from him, even through their damp clothing.

"Then... I'm glad I was your first for that," she whispered.

"And I'm also glad you were my first for... many things tonight."

With a teasing glint in his eyes, he hummed softly. "Hmm... perhaps I should stay the night and claim every 'first experience'..."

She tilted her head, feigning innocent confusion for a moment before her eyes widened in realization. She raised a hand to playfully smack his arm. "I-I-I meant the kiss, you idiot, leave, leave!"

Brandon couldn't contain his laughter and caught her fist gently. "Hahaha... good night."

Amelia groaned in embarrassment. "You are the worst..."

Raindrops continued to stream down Brandon's face, but his eyes held a newfound tenderness.

"Sleep well, Amelia. Dry off properly, alright?"

"Mhm."

---

Brandons entred his guest chamber, closing the balcony door behind him.

There, Rheanne lay peacefully on the bed, her long white hair fanned out across the pillow.

The sight brought a fond smile to Brandon's face.

He moved quietly to the small adjoining washroom, removed his damp attire, and thoroughly dried himself with a clean towel.

The lingering chill from the rain slowly receded from his body as he changed into comfortable, dry trousers.

Upon returning to the bedroom, he paused at the edge of the bed, simply observing her for a moment.

With a contented sigh, he lowered himself gently onto the bed, landing in a full-body embrace atop her.

He nestled his face into the crook of her neck, exhaling a deep, satisfied breath.

Rheanne let out a soft exhale. "You are heavy..."

Brandon smiled against her skin. "That’s what you get for pretending to be asleep."

Her lips curved into a subtle smile.

Her arms slowly encircled his back, embracing him tighter as her fingertips traced unhurried designs down his spine.

"You've become even more attached these days," she softly commented, her voice thick with drowsiness.

He shifted gently, finding a more comfortable position against her, savoring the familiar warmth and the subtle, calming fragrance that always seemed to surround her.

"I wish for more of your ether..."

Rheanne rolled her eyes and delivered a light pat to his back. "Who ever told you to squander your ether by taking the princess for a skyward flight?"

Brandon let out a soft chuckle. "You were observing?"

"Naturally. I perceived your departure from the castle with Amelia and your subsequent return with her. It's imperative for me to remain vigilant of my surroundings and to identify any potential threats."

Upon hearing this, he gave a slight nod. "Mhm."

His body relaxed further into hers as he continued to draw ether from her at a leisurely pace.

Rheanne remained quiet for a spell, her fingers absently sketching slow circles along his spine.

Then, she tilted her head slightly, casting a glance down at his countenance.

She observed that his disposition had improved significantly since midday.

She narrowed her eyes, lost in thought.

’Did his connection with her...’

Rheanne’s voice softened considerably as she inquired with curiosity, "You seem to be in an exceptionally pleasant mood this evening."

Brandon responded with a soft hum, "Is that so?"

"Mhm." She gently tugged at a damp strand of his hair.

With a chuckle, he looked up at her, a tender smile gracing his lips. "We... shared a kiss."

Rheanne was utterly taken aback by this revelation. "A kiss?"

He simply rested his chin lightly on her collarbone, his eyes half-lidded once more as he resumed absorbing her ether.

"Haa... I found tonight quite enjoyable."

Meanwhile, a quiver of surprise ran through Rheanne's gaze. 'They kissed...'

For an extended period of over two and a half years, Brandon had been intimately connected SOLELY with her.

Together, they had faced battles, spent innumerable nights in shared rest, exchanged ether through quiet embraces, and forged a bond that felt profoundly unique to them.

He had never exhibited such a relaxed and affectionate demeanor after spending time with anyone else.

But now...

A peculiar and unfamiliar pang began to ache within her heart.

Rheanne drew a slow breath, making a concerted effort to maintain a calm expression while her mind spun with a whirlwind of thoughts.

She gently resumed stroking his hair.

He emitted another contented sigh, clearly still basking in the pleasant afterglow of the evening.

Rheanne remained silent for a considerable duration, her eyes fixed upon the ceiling above.

She had grown accustomed to being the sole individual who truly understood him and the exclusive recipient of his constant closeness.

However, the mere notion of him sharing even a simple kiss with another person now felt... disquieting.

Was it jealousy?

She harbored no anger towards Amelia.

The young lady was inherently kind, sincere, and radiated genuine affection.

Yet, the idea that Brandon had permitted someone else to get close enough for a kiss stirred an unfamiliar sensation deep within her.

Rheanne briefly closed her eyes, attempting to suppress the burgeoning emotion.

'No... He is not mine to command; he is free to act as he pleases...'

She possessed no right over his heart or his affections.

Nevertheless, even as these thoughts coursed through her, her hands unconsciously tightened around Brandon, drawing him fractionally closer against her form.

Brandon nestled deeper into her neck. "Thank you, Rheanne... after the chilling downpour, it feels so wonderfully warm to sleep beside you."

Upon hearing his words, Rheanne was momentarily startled, her eyes widening slightly.

'This is a rare occurrence...'

This was because Brandon seldom addressed her by her given name.

He had always thought of her as "Rheanne" internally, but when speaking aloud, he had habitually used "you" or simply integrated her into the flow of conversation.

Patting his head, she murmured, "Good night, Kael."

A gentle smile graced her lips.

She raised one hand and tenderly patted his head with careful affection.

"Good night, Kael,"
