Genius Doctor: Black Belly Miss Chapter 1
Darkness cloaked the mountains, where flickering yellow flames leaped and roared, consuming the mountain villa amid endless screams reverberating through the hushed valley.
A 14-year-old girl gazed vacantly at the scene, gripping a fiery torch in one hand.
Insatiable flames swallowed everything, leaving only the snapping sounds of burning wood.
Burned. All of it burned.
This sinister cage was gone.
Finally, the prison that confined her for the past ten years had become a blazing inferno.
[Where are we going?]
A gentle voice whispered softly as the little black cat perched on the girl’s shoulder fixed her with clear, bright eyes while licking its paws.
“Anywhere works, just as long as it’s away from here.” The girl cast one final glance at her handiwork, then turned and strode into the mountains, the clank of snapped chains trailing from her slim ankles as she moved forward without emotion along the bumpy forest trail.
The instant she turned, a figure wreathed in flames burst from the turmoil, eyes blazing with madness locked on her vanishing silhouette in the gloom, before a shrill scream pierced the night.
“Wu Xie! Come back! You can never get out of here! You belong to me!”
More than ten years of relentless effort reduced to oblivion.
The girl paused steadily, turning back to the man devoured by fire, and declared coldly: “You are dying, while I still live.”
The man writhed in tormenting screams. With a final stare at her ultimate nightmare, she said icily: “Farewell, Grandfather.”
The little black cat on the girl’s shoulder let out a scornful sneer. Grandfather?
What qualification did that medicine-crazed lunatic have to be its owner’s grandfather—a man who had shut his own granddaughter away in the deep mountains, using her as an experimental subject?
[Mistress, what are your plans?]
Brushing aside the voice fading into the flames, the little black cat asked the girl.
Gazing at her slender hands, she replied softly, “To test for a veterinary license.”
[Ha ha ha! That old man, if he knew that you, a peerless genius in the medical field actually want to be a vet, he would certainly not rest in peace!] The cat burst out laughing wildly on the girl’s shoulder.
“He won’t rest in peace?” The girl’s gaze dropped, a faint trace of a smile tugging almost imperceptibly at her lips.
A year later, she took root in City A, secured her veterinary license, and embarked on a career of healing animals.
......
Life’s fortunes shift without warning. Just moments earlier, she had been in the operating room mid-surgery when a sudden blast hurled her into darkness.
Torrential rain pelted down as she regained consciousness. Sprawled on rough stones, she calmly evaluated her surroundings.
She had arrived in an alien world, supplanting a fading spirit. As fragments of unfamiliar memories surged into her mind, she understood that this new body was also named Wu Xie—though surnamed Jun: Jun Wu Xie.
