Monday dawned, and Little Ruanruan was already stirring long before the sun had fully risen.

Recalling the words her mother had shared last night, she was bursting with anticipation to assist in preparing the bento boxes for her brothers.

While Jian Yiling had initially suspected that the little girl might have forgotten her promise, she found that Little Ruanruan had risen even earlier than she had.

Furthermore, she was already standing by, eager to lend a hand in the kitchen.

Little Ruanruan sprawled across the kitchen table, concentrating as she helped Jian Yiling shape the rice balls.

Jian Yiling had been careful to ensure her hands were clean beforehand, though whatever final shape the rice balls took was left entirely up to chance.

Gradually, the brothers began to wake up one by one.

Zhai Yuze was the first to appear. Upon spotting his sister kneading rice in the kitchen, he rushed over in a panic, crying, “Ruanruan, get down from there! You might easily fall off.”

“Brother! Look! Ball ball!” Little Ruanruan chirped happily, lifting up the small, misshapen rice ball she had just created.

The rice ball in her palm looked quite pathetic.

Regardless, Zhai Yuze beamed and said, “Wow. Thank you, Ruanruan. It’s absolutely amazing.”

After all, his beloved sister had made it with her own two hands!

Hearing his praise, Little Ruanruan’s face lit up with a joyous smile.

“But please, come down now, okay?” Zhai Yuze pressed, clearly stressed by the sight of his sister perched on such a high surface.

“No! I want to make more!” Ruanruan insisted.

Before Zhai Yuze could offer another protest, Zhai Yunsheng rolled his eyes at his son and remarked, “Am I just here for decoration, then?”

Ruanruan wasn't unattended; Zhai Yunsheng and Jian Yiling were standing right beside her. Even if he doubted his father’s vigilance, could he possibly doubt his mother? Jian Yiling would never allow Ruanruan to tumble from the desk.

Zhai Yuze argued back, “But you’re always staring at Mommy. What if your focus shifts elsewhere when Ruanruan loses her balance?”

Zhai Yuze’s logic was sound.

It seemed sons truly were destined to trouble their fathers. Although Zhai Yuze hadn't reached his tenth birthday yet, he was already standing his ground against his father.

Soon after, Zhai Yuting and Zhai Yutang joined them.

Discovering their sister was crafting rice balls, they were thrilled and immediately scrambled to claim their share of her handiwork.

“This one is mine!”

“She’s making them for my lunch!”

“No! Ruanruan likes me the best!”

The three brothers bickered over the rice balls.

Observing the chaos, Jian Yiling intervened, “You three should share the ones your sister made. You can also take a few of the ones I prepared.”

The brothers immediately reached for the rice balls Jian Yiling had crafted.

After all, the ones made by their mother smelled positively mouth-watering.

However, Zhai Yunsheng swatted their hands away, announcing, “These are mine.”

He didn't mind them taking Ruanruan’s creations, but anything his wife had made was strictly for him.

Left with no other choice, the three brothers were forced to retreat empty-handed.

Hmph!

Their father was incredibly selfish!

Despite their frustration, the boys knew they were powerless to change the situation; after all, their father could likely subdue all three of them with only one hand.

They had no choice but to resign themselves to the outcome.

Although Zhai Yunsheng was stingy, Jian Yiling still packed plenty of rice balls into their bento boxes, knowing they couldn't survive on the few Ruanruan had produced.

This was especially true for Zhai Yuze, whose daily martial arts training meant his appetite was significantly larger than the others.

After breakfast, the three brothers departed for school, clutching the bento boxes prepared by their mother and sister.

“Eldest brother, second brother, third brother! Hug!” Ruanruan called out, throwing her arms open.

They took turns embracing their adorable sister before reluctantly heading off.

Afterward, Zhai Yunsheng escorted his wife and daughter to the Beijing branch of Lahaisen Hospital before heading to his office.

The moment Little Ruanruan stepped into the hospital, she was immediately surrounded by staff.

“Ruanruan, let me give you a cuddle!”

“Ruanruan, your outfit is just beautiful today!”

“Ruanruan, you’re becoming more charming by the day!”

“...”
