Found 100 Million In My Rented Apartment Chapter 2060: Who Can Withstand Such a Trial?
Previously on Found 100 Million In My Rented Apartment...
Ultimately, only a man could truly grasp the difference; while a pretend succubus relies merely on superficial charms, a genuine one captivates through a lover's sincere devotion and adoration.
Zhuang Xiaoqiao was currently radiating the essence of a true succubus.
It was a trial no man could easily withstand.
Yet, right as Ye Feng was preoccupied with assisting Zhuang Xiaoqiao’s recuperation, a soft tapping echoed from the door.
“Sister Xiaoqiao, have you woken up?” Hai Xiaoyao’s voice drifted in with a hint of shyness.
“My sister sent me to get you for breakfast.”
Terrified that their situation might be discovered, Zhuang Xiaoqiao replied hastily, “I’m coming right now.”
“Xiaoyao, go tell your sister to get the gear ready for the ocean trip. We are heading out to sea once we finish eating.”
“Okay.” Being just a young child, Hai Xiaoyao was easily distracted and sent on his way by her instructions.
He completely overlooked the second part of the task Hai Ling’er had assigned him, which was to summon Ye Feng from the adjacent room for the meal.
Once the sound of Hai Xiaoyao’s departing footsteps faded, Zhuang Xiaoqiao urgently signaled Ye Feng to complete her recuperation process.
After Ye Feng finished aiding her, she hurried him back to his own quarters and began her morning routine at lightning speed.
The two eventually met up after freshening up, intending to head downstairs for their morning meal.
Before they could reach the table, however, the sounds of a heated dispute reached them from below.
“Get out of here!” Hai Xiaoyao shouted, his voice thick with emotion. “You aren't allowed in our home!”
Hearing the commotion, Ye Feng and Zhuang Xiaoqiao rushed down the stairs. They found Hai Ling’er’s mother standing there with a grim expression on her face.
In front of her, Hai Ling’er and Hai Xiaoyao were desperately trying to eject a middle-aged couple from the premises.
The middle-aged man seemed unfazed by the confrontation. Ignoring Hai Ling’er’s cold reception and the boy's attempts to kick him out, he smirked and said, “Ling’er, Xiaoyao, don't be like that. I am your second uncle. Blood is thicker than water, after all!”
“Yesterday, your baskets were overflowing with blue crabs. You’ve clearly stumbled upon a goldmine. As they say, one should keep the fertile water within the family. You really ought to share the location of that treasure with your Second Uncle and Second Aunt.”
“Once we strike it rich, we'll be sure to remember your generosity.”
The woman beside him nodded her head in fervent agreement. “Exactly. You can't possibly eat all those crabs yourselves; it’s a waste to just leave them. Why not let us help you harvest them so we can make some money?”
“Regardless of anything else, we are still family…”
“You are not welcome here!” Hai Xiaoyao clearly loathed the pair. He lunged forward, trying to shove the man out the door.
However, the young boy was no match for a grown man. Despite his best efforts, the middle-aged man didn't budge an inch.
Making no effort to mask her contempt, Hai Ling’er spoke up. “If we were truly family, you wouldn't have bullied us after my father’s accident at sea. You wouldn't have pressured Grandma to alter her will just to steal the inheritance our ancestors intended for us. You wouldn't have stood by and watched while we went hungry.”
“I haven't forgotten a single thing you've done over the years.”
“You didn't care about us when we were at our lowest. Now that Sister Xiaoqiao and the others are here and things are looking up, you want to crawl back and share the benefits? It's far too late for that!”
The middle-aged man looked visibly uncomfortable at her words, unable to even meet Hai Ling’er’s gaze.
The middle-aged woman, however, grew defensive and angry. Baring her teeth, she lunged toward Hai Ling’er with her claws out.
“You brat! What kind of lies are you spewing?”
“We are your elders! Have you no respect?!”
Hai Ling’er instinctively flinched, trying to move out of the way.
“Stop right there!” At that moment, a figure blurred between Hai Ling’er and the woman like a ghost. He caught the woman’s wrist and gave a firm, light shove that sent her stumbling back several paces.
It was Ye Feng.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Just as Ye Feng intervened, Zhuang Xiaoqiao’s expression darkened as she stepped up to his side.
