Chapter 2
[You are running: Qi-Blood +1, body coordination +1, running speed +1, running technique +1]
[You are jumping: Qi-Blood +1, leg muscle strength +1, jumping height +1, jumping technique +1]
[You are talking to yourself: mental strength +1, language ability +1, expressive ability +1…]
Half a month slipped away before he even realized it.
Through the "use it or lose it" mechanic, Lin Zichen successfully gained command over fundamental abilities like jumping, running, and speaking.
Despite mastering these various skills, he remained cautious and refrained from displaying too much in front of his parents, considering he was only seven months old.
He feared that appearing overly miraculous would invite a mountain of unnecessary complications later on.
Setting aside the nightmare scenario of being hauled off for scientific study, at the very least, he would likely be forced into variety shows, groomed as an internet celebrity, or pushed into various competitions.
Lin Zichen’s only desire was to undergo evolution in silence; he had no wish to squander his focus on such distractions.
Of course, revealing a hint of genius was acceptable, if only to bring joy to his parents.
“Zi Chen, let’s go. Mommy is taking you over to Han Han’s house to play.”
Zhang Wanxin scooped Lin Zichen up from the floor, planting a beaming kiss on his cheek.
The "Han Han" she mentioned was the infant girl who lived in the neighboring apartment.
While she claimed she was taking her son for a playdate, it was mostly an excuse for her to gossip with the girl's mother.
Both mothers were roughly the same age, shared an interest in fashion, and loved discussing celebrity scandals.
After a few visits, their bond had strengthened into a close friendship where no topic was off-limits.
Upon arriving at the neighbor's home, Zhang Wanxin set Lin Zichen down beside the baby girl and settled onto the sofa to laugh and chat with the other mother.
At the sight of Lin Zichen, the baby girl’s face lit up with a grin, and she reached out, seeking some physical contact.
However, Lin Zichen had zero interest in entertaining an infant.
He swiftly crawled away from her.
To train his body, he began a circuit of the neighbor’s living room.
The baby girl attempted to follow his lead, but her limbs lacked the strength to move. She could only sit there, watching in awe as Lin Zichen scurried about with the speed of a cockroach.
She seemed genuinely fond of him; her eyes would crinkle into a bright smile whenever she saw him heading in her direction.
“Zi Chen, don’t just wander off by yourself. Play with Han Han,” Zhang Wanxin called out after noticing his knees were getting dusty from the floor.
She picked him up and moved him back to the baby girl's side.
To save face for Zhang Wanxin in front of her friend, Lin Zichen stayed put, playing the part of a sensible and well-behaved toddler.
The neighbor looked on with envy, saying, “Wanxin, your Zi Chen is so obedient.”
“Oh, not at all. Han Han is very sweet too, and she’s always smiling. She’ll definitely be a heartbreaker when she grows up,” Zhang Wanxin replied, returning the compliment.
As the two women traded praises for each other's children, the baby girl suddenly had an accident.
Since she wasn't wearing a diaper and was dressed in split pants, she urinated directly onto the floor.
Looking delighted by the puddle, the baby girl began slapping the liquid with her palms, sending splashes everywhere.
Peeing and splashing.
Splashing and laughing.
She was having the time of her life.
Lin Zichen, unable to witness the mess, quickly retreated to avoid getting hit by the spray.
“Are you made of water, little girl?” the mother asked with a sigh of frustration. “You just went a little while ago. How can you go again?”
With that, she hoisted the baby girl up and hurried to the bathroom for a change of clothes.
Watching her friend rush off, Zhang Wanxin felt that her life as a mother was relatively easy.
Other people's babies seemed like such a handful.
But her own son, after the first two months of infancy, hadn't soiled his pants once. Whenever he needed to go, he would make specific noises to signal the adults.
Most importantly, he never cried during the night, which was a huge relief for his parents.
...
Time marched on.
Another month passed in the blink of an eye.
By this stage, Lin Zichen had developed enough strength to perform push-ups and sit-ups—a feat that was utterly surreal.
His first attempt at push-ups was grueling and slow.
However, it didn't take long for him to become an expert.
As he moved with the intensity of a pile driver, his small body rising and falling rhythmically, the crib groaned under the strain.
It was the kind of performance that would make grown men feel inadequate and women feel amazed.
While he was in the middle of a set,
Zhang Wanxin pushed the door open and stepped inside.
She froze, completely stunned to see Lin Zichen performing vigorous push-ups in his crib.
For a fleeting second, she thought she was hallucinating.
She instinctively rubbed her eyes.
Seizing the moment while her vision was obscured, Lin Zichen flopped down and pretended to be fast asleep.
“That’s strange. Did I see that correctly?”
Zhang Wanxin walked over to the crib and stopped. She turned Lin Zichen onto his back to let him sleep properly, muttering to herself in total confusion.
...
In the following days,
Lin Zichen continued his secret training of push-ups and sit-ups whenever his parents were out of sight.
[You are doing push-ups: Qi-Blood +1, arm muscle strength +1, chest muscle strength +1, push-up proficiency +1]
[You are doing sit-ups: Qi-Blood +1, abdominal muscle strength +1, sit-up proficiency +1]

After a period of such intense training,
Zhang Wanxin was giving Lin Zichen a bath one day when she made a shocking discovery: her tiny baby actually possessed abdominal muscles. She was left speechless.
“Husband! Come here quickly, something big has happened!”
“What is it? What’s wrong?”
Lin Yansheng sprinted into the bathroom, looking panicked.
Then... he froze as well.
“What is going on here?!”
Staring at the faint but visible six-pack on Lin Zichen’s torso, Lin Yansheng was in disbelief.
How could an eight-month-old infant have abs?
Could crawling around every day really build that much muscle?
Lin Yansheng simply couldn't wrap his head around it.
...
That evening,
the family sat down for their evening meal.
Lin Zichen had transitioned to solid foods and was eating nutritious porridge.
Because his high-intensity workouts burned so much energy, he had a massive appetite, finishing bowl after bowl.
His unsuspecting parents were baffled that a baby could consume so much food.
After dinner,
the three of them gathered on the sofa to watch the news.
The broadcast featured a report on Exotic Beast attacks. His parents watched with grim expressions, noting that such incidents were becoming more frequent and the world was growing more perilous.
Then, a segment about a child prodigy aired.
It was reported that a thousand-year-old Martial Arts Family in the Capital City had produced a natural genius. At just two years old, the child could lift a 20kg dumbbell with a single hand, a feat that had stunned the entire nation.
Lin Yansheng sighed as he watched. “Those Martial Arts Families in the Capital have incredible genetics and resources. It’s no wonder so many of their children are born as prodigies. It’s truly enviable.”
Driven by a mother’s pride, Zhang Wanxin countered, “Our Zichen is a prodigy too. I’m sure he won’t lose to those so-called family geniuses.”
Hearing her words, Lin Zichen gave her a mental thumbs-up, thinking that his mother certainly had an eye for talent.
He kept his eyes fixed on the screen, watching the young boy lift the weight with ease, his mind racing.
Lifting 20kg with one hand at age two...
A genius that shocked the nation...
I wonder if I’ll be able to lift 20kg that easily when I turn two?
