Leo Ray battles the Broken Wing King, using his speed to evade spatial attacks. Despite the King's evasiveness, Leo Ray recognizes the need to defeat him quickly as enemy reinforcements are expected to arrive soon.
Of the three fronts, only the Shadow Market Headquarters, bolstered by the Dark Half-Elves, maintained an edge. Elsewhere, the initial advantage held by the Stone Giant and Half-Titan forces against the Royal Capital's reinforcements, and by the Desert Fishman and Tunnel Foxman units against the minion reinforcements, had evaporated. "General, I report! The First Knight Order of the Broken Wing Royal Army is relentlessly assaulting our positions! Our heavy infantry is on the verge of collapse!" Amidst the fiery expanse of the battlefield, urgent footsteps pounded within the Half-Titan formation. A Half-Titan soldier, arrows piercing his back, offered a sharp salute to a formidable Half-Titan general, his breathing ragged. "The enemy's assault is exceptionally fierce! They recently annihilated our allied Leopard-man Cavalry Corps from the valley!" "This General is aware. Go swiftly and see to your wounds." A deep, steady voice resonated as the Half-Titan general nodded to the young soldier, feeling the sweat slick his grip on his massive sword hilt. Glimmers of magic light danced around, illuminating the resolute features of the Half-Titan general – none other than Bisos, who had previously been repelled by Leo Ray at the Shadow Market. That same night, Bisos had witnessed Leo Ray's awe-inspiring prowess at the banquet, where he had bested their king, Hollis. Considering Hollis's defeat, alongside Leo Ray's comprehensive upgrades and other critical developments, this renowned Half-Titan commander harbored no trace of contempt for Leo Ray. Instead, profound respect and admiration filled him. "His Majesty of the Humans labors tirelessly for our cause. We must stand firm, in any case, and prevent these invaders from reaching His Majesty!" Bisos gestured grandly, issuing commands to the surrounding Half-Titan soldiers. "Advance with this General to reinforce the heavy infantry! Allow none of these rampaging fiends to pass! For His Majesty of the Humans!" "For His Majesty of the Humans!" The gathered Half-Titan soldiers roared, hefting their colossal axes and surging forward alongside Bisos. Following the trail of smoke and the scent of blood, they reached the front lines. Bisos and his comrades frowned deeply. The Half-Titan heavy infantry units were on the brink of disintegration, their lines breached and riddled with gaps. Corpses lay strewn about, interspersed with shattered giant shields. "General, they are advancing again!" As a survivor's quavering voice broke the tense air, the thunderous sound of dense hoofbeats erupted from ahead. A colossal dark mass, like a descending peak, rapidly loomed over them. These enemy cavalry, bearing the tattered banner of the Broken Wing, exuded an aura of deadly intent. They rode colossal, armored ground dragons, each exceeding three meters in height. Their lances, lowered menacingly, were razor-sharp – a formidable formation designed to instill terror. "So, this is the renowned Broken Wing Royal Army Corps, the force that once vanquished the Frost Fire Giants and the Moon Shadow Deer People? They possess considerable skill, but we Half-Titans are not easily subdued!" Bisos held his greatsword horizontally, directing the incoming Half-Titan infantry reinforcements. "Deploy the chevaux de frise! Prepare for impact!" As Bisos spoke, immense obstacles, crafted from massive stones and wicked blades, materialized instantly along the frontline. These were deployed with remarkable speed by the Half-Titan soldiers utilizing their storage rings. In prior times, the Half-Titans' limited resources would have made widespread equipping of large-capacity storage rings, especially for such colossal obstacles, unthinkable. However, following Leo Ray's extensive upgrades, such feats were now achievable. With the chevaux de frise in place, Bisos and his troops watched as the Broken Wing cavalry, a tide of steel driven by immense killing intent, closed the distance to under a hundred meters. "Mere Half-Titans, daring to provoke the wrath of our Broken Wing Clan! Today, not one of you shall escape alive!" The leading general of the Broken Wing cavalry, wielding a three-meter lance, launched a ferocious thrust directly at Bisos! "Arrogance! It is time to shatter the so-called unbreakable legend of the Broken Wing Clan!" Confronting the imminent charge, Bisos swiftly activated a small magical scroll concealed in his palm. Instantly, not only did Bisos unleash a blast of flame, but the surrounding Half-Titan soldiers mirrored his actions. Spells such as Ice Burst, Blazing Flame, and Binding Wind surged forth like an overwhelming tide, crashing towards the enemy. Within this confined distance of mere tens of meters, these area-of-effect Tier 6 offensive spells delivered their maximum destructive potential. Yet, against the overwhelming magical barrage unleashed by the Half-Titans, the Broken Wing cavalry general, his features hidden behind his battle helmet, maintained a sneer of disdain. He pressed on with his high-speed charge, utterly unfazed. Boom! Boom! Boom!A barrage of thunderous magical explosions reverberated across the heavens. Yet, before the Broken Wing cavalry, ethereal miniature defensive shields materialized, absorbing all incoming damage. "Heh, mere trifles, how could they possibly harm us?" the general of the Broken Wing cavalry scoffed, guiding his steed in a mid-air leap. They effortlessly maneuvered past the sharpened stakes, with the surrounding enemy cavalry following suit. In a flash, the seemingly cumbersome yet surprisingly nimble colossal armored ground dragons descended from the sky, crashing towards the Half-Titan formation! The next moment, the Broken Wing cavalry general realigned his lance, thrusting it with all his might towards Bisos's chest. Upon witnessing this, Bisos, his heart suddenly filled with terror, reacted with lightning speed. His formidable physique twisted, narrowly evading the opponent's devastating lance thrust, which only left a faint scratch on his energy barrier. However, other Half-Titan soldiers nearby couldn't react as swiftly. Many were directly impaled by the lunging lances or crushed beneath the colossal feet of the ground dragons, unleashing a cacophony of agonized cries and shrieks. It must be understood that Half-Titan soldiers possess remarkably large bodies, and when tightly packed in formation, evading attacks becomes exceedingly difficult. "A bunch of bullies trampling over us, defeating us won't be easy!" Having successfully dodged the treacherous attack, Bisos bellowed, his tremendous sword carving a swift arc, slashing horizontally towards the Broken Wing cavalry general. Without the benefit of impact force, and considering the immense size of the Broken Wing cavalry's mounts, which resembled small mountains, striking them proved to be not particularly challenging. "You insects struggle in vain, resisting our unstoppable might!" The Broken Wing cavalry general decisively discarded his lance, revealing a heavy broadsword from his gauntlet, and met Bisos's sword blade head-on. A deafening "boom" echoed, and though the Broken Wing cavalry general managed to parry Bisos's ferocious assault, the sheer force behind it nearly sent the ground dragon beneath him tumbling. "Tch, nothing but brutes wielding raw strength," the general muttered. Realizing his disadvantage, he didn't hesitate, swiftly adjusting his mount and veering away, accelerating out of the battlefield at high speed. Other Broken Wing cavalry members executed similar maneuvers, following their leader's lead. In the ensuing chaos, while Bisos and the Half-Titan soldiers managed to fell a number of the slower-reacting Broken Wing cavalry, the vast majority swiftly vanished into the darkness, as if they had never been there at all. "They retreated surprisingly fast," Bisos commented with a cold snort, quickly surveying the battlefield's grim outcome. Compared to the enemy's minimal losses, the Half-Titan soldiers had suffered far more grievous casualties; their previously reinforced lines were now significantly depleted. Though healers rushed to carry the injured away, their dented armor and pallid complexions clearly indicated their complete incapacitation from combat. As the overwhelmed Bisos clenched his teeth, attempting to reestablish order within the ranks, the thundering of beast hooves, sounding like the relentless drumbeat of the Grim Reaper, once again erupted in the distance.
