Leo Ray's forces unleashed devastating new alchemy bombs, fusing ancient and Earth technologies, shattering the witch demon army's lines and allowing the golem puppets to overrun the undead frontline. The witch demon leader charged in fury, only to be swiftly subdued by Frank's power, the pink hooded man's binding magic, and Old Gary's vengeful strike, avenging the Broken Valley Alliance amid emotional reunions with Yoyo. As the battlefield fell silent, the group pressed deeper into the dark space, discovering a trapping cycle orchestrated by the demon; the pink hooded man expended rare space magic crystals to forge a fleeting portal, leading them into a foreboding new realm lit by eerie candlelight.

Suddenly, without a single hint, a bizarre black glow burst from the earth under our feet. It blended seamlessly with the profound shadows all around, creating an all-encompassing void of black that swallowed up every one of our hovering light orbs right in the air above.

What's more, this total blackness was so dense that not even your own fingers were visible up close. Leo Ray's [Star Pupil] ability and the night-sight boosts from enchanted scrolls failed completely. The only thing visible was the weak dance of far-off candles, which didn't reveal anything nearby.

As the faint magical orbs snuffed out like flames caught in a gale, casting the whole area into night, a series of rock-tumbling noises echoed right next to us, leaving us stunned.

Right then, even with the remote ghostly candle flames still wavering, the shroud of night hid us from one another, and this eerie feeling crawled ice-cold over our backs.

Surrounded by this total blackout, Leo Ray had no idea what was truly going on, but the noises made it obvious that the golem puppets, freshly put together nearby, were now crumbling to pieces.

Keep in mind, a good number of those golem puppets were newly called forth just before we stepped inside, with plenty of time still on their summons; normally, they wouldn't fall apart so soon.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, what should we do?”

In the face of this abrupt twist, Yoyo, after multiple tries at summoning light orbs that all flopped, asked in a voice thick with alarm.

And Yoyo wasn't alone; the entire team groped blindly in the shadows, clueless on how to proceed.

Across this huge, ink-black void, the golem puppets kept disintegrating, the crashes pounding hard into everyone's ears without stop.

Right at that point, a brilliant golden fire flared up before Leo Ray. The figure in the pink hood clutched a shining lantern, softly lighting up the area close by.

With light breaking through once more, the strain on our group lifted a bit, and they quickly scanned their surroundings.

True enough, all the golem puppets that had encircled us lay in ruins, dissolving away fast. Just three folks, three Stone Spirits, and old Guy were left on their feet.

Against the former mighty lineup, these remaining few now seemed small and isolated amid the boundless night.

“Though this is the work of those hypocrites, I didn’t want to use it, but there’s no other way now.”

The pink-hooded figure pulled out a few extra lanterns aglow with sacred golden flames, passing them out to the team members individually.

Once he took the lantern, Leo Ray checked its details in the Attribute Column, learning it was called the Eternal Lantern, made by the Light Elves. Legend has it that it pierces any shadow, though it's purely for lighting things up.

As for the pink-hooded figure's label of the Light Elves as hypocrites, that detail could wait for later.

Thanks to the lantern's glow, Leo Ray spotted more details around them.

Across the floor where the group was positioned, odd black symbols extended out into the shadows, the exact origin of that prior dark shine.

“This is a dark forbidden formation that rejects summoning, nullifying all summon scrolls and summoning magic, even including the already summoned golem puppets.”

Staying on guard, the pink-hooded figure went on, “Don’t forget that the opponent was created by Evil Gods, mastering not only the power of space but also immense forbidden dark powers.”

“So that’s why the golem puppets collapsed.”

Leo Ray gave a small nod. After a few fruitless attempts to trigger summon scrolls, his face turned even graver.

He had counted on using the leftover summon scrolls to strengthen his odds versus the demon, but that option was gone now.

Luckily, they had broken free from the endless dark, clutching a slim ray of brightness.

The moment Leo Ray steadied himself to press on, yet another shift happened.

The group's solid lineup broke apart in every direction all at once, not from their own will, but because space itself ripped open forcefully—a trick Leo Ray recognized from before, in the pink-hooded person's hall.

“Forcibly scattering us is not that easy!”

In the same instant, the pink-hooded person reacted fast. Clutching his magic wand firm, a gray magic circle bloomed under his boots, speeding after the scattered team.

When it reached them, the gray circle, now growing bigger, shrank back swiftly, acting like binding cords, yanking everyone back into formation.

Once they regrouped as before, sighs of relief escaped the group, though the pink-hooded person hacked loudly, coughing up a gush of blood.

“Your Excellency, are you alright?”

Leo Ray flipped his hand, offering over a handful of Tier 6 Healing Magic Potions.

“I’m fine, just exerted myself a bit too much.”

The pink-hooded person didn't pause, gulping one down right away.

Still, no matter his casual claim, the way his breaths came rougher and his shoulders shook showed it was more than just pushing too hard.
