The enemy unleashed a space-disrupting technique, scattering Leo Ray's forces across the Giant City like pieces of a scrambled puzzle, leaving ranks empty and exposing them to hidden traps. Ellie briefly explained the teleportation before vanishing herself, stranding Leo Ray in a crystalline space gap between real space and the void. There, Xiao Jing appeared and attempted to breach the barrier, but failed; as they explored for an escape, the gap began collapsing, shattering crystals and unleashing a violent suction toward the devouring void. Leo Ray, clutching the transformed Xiao Jing, raced forward against the intensifying pull, swallowing speed-boosting medicines while the space crumbled relentlessly behind him.

Ahead in the void, amid clusters of crystals in all sorts of shapes and sizes, a modest wooden hut popped up out of nowhere. Around it stretched a fertile plot of land, brimming with lush greenery and ripe produce that pulsed with life.

The sight left Leo Ray completely stunned, his mouth hanging open in shock. After all, this was inside a space rift in the Witch Demon Main City, where the exterior was nothing but a barren desert of death. How could something so bizarre show up here?

On top of that, the terrain in this spot, much like the crystalline space walls, was totally unfit for any kind of vegetation to thrive.

Yet, with the void behind him crumbling at a frantic pace and no alternative routes in sight, Leo Ray pushed aside his bewilderment and dashed onward toward the hut.

Before he knew it, Leo Ray had drawn near the wooden hut.

The instant he crossed into the hut's vicinity, Leo Ray realized with a jolt.

The frantic collapse of the space at his back halted abruptly, and the horrifying pull vanished in a flash, leaving his frame feeling feather-light, as though he'd just cast off the weight of twin peaks from his back.

In wonder, Leo Ray glanced over his shoulder to spot a shimmering magical shield enveloping the whole zone around the hut.

Outside that shield, the path he'd raced along moments ago had vanished entirely, swallowed by absolute nothingness.

This tiny patch with the hut resembled a lone isle adrift in infinite emptiness, hemmed in by abyssal shadows that stirred a profound, icy dread.

“In any case, it’s fortunate to have evaded the crisis for now.”

Leo Ray swabbed the perspiration from his brow and started scanning the area.

Were this not a space rift, the view might pass for a typical rural dwelling, utterly commonplace.

But set against the crystalline expanse of the rift, it stood out as glaringly odd and out of place.

Above all, what gripped his attention most was the magical shield that had halted the rift's destruction.

“My Lord, this is also a kind of space barrier.”

Via their mind link, Xiao Jing reappeared, her eyes sparkling like stars as she studied the shield for a bit before gasping in awe, “It can actually stop space from collapsing. The caster is far from ordinary.”

“The caster, huh? It’s apparently the owner of this place.”

Leo Ray gave a slight nod, his eyes locking onto the plain wooden hut as he unconsciously clenched his longsword tighter.

Xiao Jing had hit the mark; whoever owned this spot was no ordinary figure, and might even be the secret force stirring chaos in the massive city.

With that in mind, Leo Ray turned to Xiao Jing and inquired, “Can we return to real space now?”

“My Lord, this space barrier stopped the space from collapsing but also prevents our departure.”

Xiao Jing shook her head in resignation, her brows knitting together as she answered.

“No matter, perhaps there are other ways to leave here.”

To start, Leo Ray called forth Little Jie, then signaled to the pair of Stone Spirits with a nod, “The generals are still stuck outside, at a loss. We must act immediately.”

Saying so, Leo Ray forged ahead, making a beeline for the central wooden hut.

As they pressed on, Leo Ray's face showed a blend of frustration and haste.

One had to admit that uncovering such a mysterious zone in a space rift felt like a thrilling escapade.

However, their powerful team had been scattered by the chaotic space forces, now encircled by lethal voids. This was without doubt a do-or-die juncture.

And being marooned here, both in timing and prospects, this was hardly the right instant for leisurely delving into mysteries.

While these notions swirled through Leo Ray’s head, he reached the hut's doorway.

From without, the hut's windows were sealed with planks, blocking any view of the interior.

“My Lord, there are no traces of magic traps here.”

After a brief check, Little Jie and Xiao Jing reported to Leo Ray together.

“Let’s go in and take a look.”

Steeling himself, Leo Ray gave the door a cautious push.

A groan echoed as the wooden door eased open.

The interior view hit Leo Ray and the two Stone Spirits like a thunderbolt, their eyes bulging wide.

Instead of the compact hut from the outside, they faced a vast castle chamber. The furnishings weren't opulent but elegantly appointed. Even the stairs ascending to the upper level towered beyond the hut's full stature, let alone the floors beyond that.

“My Lord, this area has also undergone space folding, which is why it presents a scene inconsistent with the original space, just like the wasteland outside.”

Xiao Jing clutched her slender sword to her chest, surveying the space as she explained.

“So, this too was built by the witch demon’s hidden hand?”

Little Jie gripped her magic wand firmer, brimming with caution.

“It doesn’t seem like it. There are no skeletons or the like here, no death energy or black fog.”

Leo Ray mulled it over briefly, then nodded in contemplation and added, “But we can’t rule out the possibility that it’s a trap set by the opponent. Let’s be cautious.”

With that, Leo Ray advanced once more, venturing deeper into the chamber.
