As Leo Ray's group advanced into the Giant City, the massive gate slammed shut behind them, sealing it with a pale white Confinement Barrier that trapped everyone inside. Undeterred, they pressed forward through dense space traps, detected by Ellie and other experts, navigating narrow paths amid blood rivers, bone piles, and an overwhelming stench of death that filled the air with dread. The Broken Valley Alliance warriors, fueled by rage at their ruined sanctuary, guarded the rear while the vanguard approached a towering black miasma pillar rising from a skeletal pale fortress. Suddenly, hundreds of warriors around Old Susan vanished into quivering space, and she disappeared moments later.

“What’s happening here…”

Loris’s lion-like eyes had barely widened in shock when he vanished in an instant, right alongside Thomas and the others nearby, leaving behind only the warped space gradually settling back into place.

Not long afterward, that bizarre vanishing act rippled outward like falling dominoes. The fighters who had halted moments before remained clueless about the chaos unfolding, only to disappear from their spots one after another, turning the previously imposing formation into a hollow shell.

“Human Majesty, they’re using a space-disruption spell!”

Ellie snapped to attention first, soaring over to Leo Ray as she explained: “Think of the space around us as a finished jigsaw puzzle—the enemy just jumbled all the pieces, shuffling the generals who stand on them like cards!”

“So they didn’t vanish; they’ve been scattered to random spots via teleportation?”

Understanding dawned on Leo Ray in a flash, sending a chill racing down his spine.

Our forces had pushed this far thanks to Ellie and the team pinpointing nearby space hazards with their detection spells.

Now, with everyone dispersed throughout the Giant City, the danger was clear; a single misstep might trigger a deadly snare.

“That’s right, Your Majesty…”

Ellie’s explanation cut off abruptly as she blinked out of sight right in front of Leo Ray, whisked away to who-knows-where.

At the same time, Leo Ray’s companions—Yonir, Grey Elder, Frank, Elder Bing, Sina, his followers, and the Tier 6 powerhouses from the Broken Valley Alliance—all faded away one by one, emptying the area around him completely.

In the following instant, a bizarre, unstoppable wind surged up from under Leo Ray’s boots, and the odd sensation of being teleported washed over him once more.

But this time, Leo Ray had no heart to savor the fleeting thrill of floating. When his footing steadied, he discovered himself isolated in a strange pocket dimension.

Glancing about, he saw a landscape made entirely of shimmering crystals in all shapes and sizes, blanketing not just the walls but the floor and ceiling too, enough to dazzle and disorient anyone who entered.

Every crystal mirrored fragments of the Forest White Giant City’s interior, though none linked up with each other. On certain surfaces, Leo Ray spotted some of his own troops looking utterly lost.

Clearly, those mirrored warriors weren’t the only ones on edge; Leo Ray himself treaded carefully across the glittering crystal floor, sweat beading on his brow.

With each press of his combat boots against the crystalline ground, waves rippled out like those on a pond, leaving him uncertain about his exact position.

“My Lord, we’re trapped in a space rift!”

Xiao Jing’s lithe form materialized, giving Leo Ray a solemn nod.

“Does that mean we’re stuck between actual space and the Void, not in the real world?”

Leo Ray’s forehead creased as he questioned her right away.

“Precisely, My Lord—landing here by random teleport is unusual, but it can happen.”

Xiao Jing positioned herself protectively before Leo Ray, replying: “The foes are pulling out all the stops with this devious tactic!”

“No time for that now. As they say, in war, anything goes; what matters is figuring out how to get back to normal space.”

After his mental communication attempt flopped, Leo Ray turned to Xiao Jing: “Any chance we can escape this place?”

Leo Ray knew full well that Xiao Jing’s hiding arts and shadow shifts relied on slipping into space rifts, proving she held some edge against space wielders.

“My Lord, let me try!”

Xiao Jing shut her eyes in concentration, her aura rippling outward and warping the odd surroundings.

It didn’t take long for the distorted area to smooth out again, but Xiao Jing panted heavily, her bosom rising and falling with effort.

“My Lord, their power overwhelms us. Even this accidental barrier blocks me from piercing through.”

After catching her breath, Xiao Jing lifted her luminous gaze, shaking her head in regret toward Leo Ray: “I’m sorry, My Lord; I failed to assist you.”

“No worries, we’ll find another approach.”

Leo Ray gently stroked Xiao Jing’s hair, shifting his attention back to the environment.

While Xiao Jing poured her focus into the magic, Leo Ray had tested every kind of Teleportation Scroll in his possession, all without success.

After scanning the area a bit longer, Leo Ray signaled to Xiao Jing: “These barriers might be denser in spots. Let’s search for weaker sections.”

Saying so, Leo Ray guided Xiao Jing onward, venturing deeper into the rift.

They hadn’t traveled much when a sharp crack echoed from behind, like a shield fracturing.

Alerted, Leo Ray whipped around to watch the crystal barrier in their wake splintering apart, fragments dissolving into mist and exposing the pitch-black Void beyond.

From the emerging Void tear, a ferocious wind howled in, battering the space near Leo Ray and Xiao Jing.

On top of that, Leo Ray sensed a mighty pull yanking at him, as if gripped by an unseen colossal fist, hauling him straight toward the breach.

“This is bad, My Lord—the rift is crumbling!”

Xiao Jing’s surprise turned to alarm as she cried out: “If that Void drags us in, the wild space particles will tear us to shreds!”

“Hurry, come to me!”

Leo Ray scooped up Xiao Jing, now in her [Stone of God] form, and stowed her in his bag before sprinting the opposite way.

The pull was immense, strong enough to yank a Tier 5 dragon into oblivion in seconds, but as a dual Tier 6 powerhouse, Leo Ray mustered enough might to fight it off.

As he bolted ahead, the crumbling crystal barrier spread like a crumbling path, the destruction racing after him in a heart-pounding chase.

“Xiao Jing, with the barriers this fragile now, can you slip us back to real space before the Void swallows us?”

Leo Ray, enveloped in blazing purple energy at maximum output, raced on while linking mentally with the Stone Spirit tucked away.

“My Lord, I could manage the return, but the rift’s breakdown is accelerating too quickly; I won’t complete the incantation in time!”

Xiao Jing’s tense reply rang out: “Unless My Lord puts more distance between us and it! If not, the Void will engulf us before I’m done!”

“Got it—I’ll push as hard as I can!”

Leo Ray gritted his teeth, gulping down a handful of speed-enhancing Magic Medicines to surge faster.

Yet, as the rift crumbled at a blistering pace, the Void’s suction grew fiercer, slowing Leo Ray’s momentum rather than boosting it.

It was like a horde of phantom grips latched onto his frame—torso, limbs, throat—tugging him relentlessly toward the abyss, choking the air from his lungs.

Even channeling the full force of Divine Grace, Leo Ray could scarcely keep moving, while the collapse showed no signs of slowing.

He could sense the crystal floor he’d just traversed shattering beneath him, merging into the Void in an instant and threatening to plunge him into peril.

As Leo Ray barreled forward with clenched jaws, the steady crystal expanse abruptly revealed an astonishing sight.
