Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2663 1465: Encirclement

Once Leo Ray uttered those words, an abrupt hush enveloped the entire assembly. Nearly every person there, Loris and Sina among them, turned more solemn, or creased their foreheads deeply.
Based on the Surviving Alliance general's account, the enormous statue positioned far inside the ruins possessed a blurry silhouette and shape, its real identity remaining a puzzle. Yet, with the multitude of demon statues in that place, and considering it was a region overrun by Witch Demons, the truth was plain to see.
Historical texts from antiquity mention that following the Battle of Winter's Chill during the Sun Era, the Deities triumphed over the Evil Gods, leading to the complete annihilation of all those evil gods. Still, lingering demons or the Malevolent Deity's Chosen Son would from time to time stir up chaos, seeking to unleash devastation and demise, while covertly building various Evil God Temples and Demon Halls.
Ever since the Silver Moon Era began, the Chosen Sons of God from the Ten Thousand Clans, and the Deities in person, often clashed head-on with these lingering threats, wiping out each demon and Malevolent Deity's Chosen Son they found. Accounts indicate that the sinister fires had been fully extinguished.
Nevertheless, examining the present circumstances, both the Malevolent Deity's Chosen Son that Leo Ray faced in the Human Domain, and the current Witch Demons, were clearly survivors from that ancient era who had slipped away.
The Ancient Relics uncovered by old Gary could well be an Evil God Temple or Demon Hall, and the actual form of that mysterious statue had to be a subordinate or attendant demon of the Evil God, or possibly the Evil God in its own right.
"Your Majesty of the Humans, are you suggesting that the unidentified giant statue has ensnared Waters?"
Loris drew in a steadying breath and asked.
"That's the most logical explanation."
Leo Ray confirmed Loris's view and went on: "It might not even be a mere statue at all, but similar to the Witch Demons, locked in a deep sleep. The statue could still be dormant, yet powerful enough to corrupt thoughts."
"That checks out, so right from the start, our foes weren't solely the Witch Demons, but also whatever lurks behind that giant statue?"
Sina wrinkled her brow in contemplation and agreed.
"Recall our earlier guess about the force supporting the Witch Demons?"
Leo Ray lightly rubbed his chin, pressing forward: "That support might not have been a second-tier power in the least."
"So you're implying the essence of that giant statue is the genuine force propping up the Witch Demons?"
Loris picked up the thread, his eyes lighting up with realization: "Then it all falls into place! After all, the surrounding second-tier powers are too busy watching one another to divert any resources our way!"
With that, Loris also knitted his brows firmly.
This clearly signaled that their actual adversary was far more daunting than a distant second-tier power unable to intervene here.
At these words, everyone on their side wore equally serious expressions, instinctively clutching their weapons with firm grips.
Should it turn out to be an Evil God Temple, wouldn't they be forced to battle Evil Gods? Such beings were ones even Deities couldn't overlook.
"Don't worry, it likely isn't a full-fledged Evil God. If it were, in this era long after the Deities' departure, the Evil God's corrupting influence would have already overrun the whole continent, and the Witch Demons wouldn't be huddled away here,"
Leo Ray perceived the anxieties in their minds and elaborated: "Thus, the reality is obvious."
The moment Leo Ray voiced this, the earlier strained mood lightened noticeably, as nearly all present let out quiet breaths of relief.
Your Majesty of the Humans is spot on; if their strength were that overwhelming, they wouldn't have lingered in obscurity, nor tolerated sharing space with second-tier powers.
If it's merely a demon rather than an Evil God, they could stand a real chance in combat.
"Yet Your Majesty of the Humans, throughout our clashes with the Witch Demons, we've yet to cross paths with any other horrifying entities,"
Old Gary's tone turned graver, and he remarked: "Maybe things aren't as dire as we're imagining?"
"Old leader, no matter the case, we have to brace for the worst and steel our resolve. In those ancient days, the support for the Witch Demons likely stayed hidden because their strength was still recovering,"
Leo Ray gave a slight nod in reply: "However, after all these passing years, even without complete restoration, it remains a mighty presence; otherwise, it couldn't target the Desert Alliance, Rainforest Fortress Alliance, and my domain all at once."
"Your Majesty of the Humans is absolutely right. If our Broken Valley Alliance had triumphed in the past, this blight would have been eradicated for good!"
Old Gary pounded his fist against the wall, letting out a deep sigh, while Loris and Sina displayed looks of regret.
Had their Alliance sent aid back then, they could have crushed the evil at its roots, but sadly, history allows no second chances.
"Even though we've never sensed the force backing the Witch Demons, and even though the local second-tier powers remain oblivious, could it be that the top-tier forces at the pinnacle of the Ten Thousand Clans have overlooked it too?"
A hint of uncertainty crossed Lannis's resolute features, compelling him to voice: "If they were aware, why hold back from destroying the Witch Demons? They were foes of the Ten Thousand Clans in the prior two eras, after all."
"Clan Leader of the Catman, that puzzle is straightforward. They might truly be unaware."
